“We stayed here specifically to have some R&R after a hectic week touring in Vietnam. The reviews specifically state that this is a quiet retreat full of peace and tranquility.
We were aware that we were visiting at the time of New Year celebrations – indeed we thoroughly enjoyed the carnival atmosphere in the town.
However we were dismayed to find that our “”quiet”” retreat at Satri House was some 100 metres from a large festival site pumping out very loud house / dance music (noise) all afternoon to at least 19.30. This continued for every day of our stay which ruined our intended relaxation before our move onto Cambodia.
Our complaint to the Manager fell on deaf ears and no compensation was offered which we find unacceptable. Such a shame as the Satri House has much to commend it.
Front of house reception were excellent as were the rooms and the food. However there is much room for improvement / training required for the dining staff!
We would suggest anyone wanting to stay over New Year or at any other times when the site is in use think very carefully before committing to stay here.”
