The elegant Kipling’s Bar is the central meeting point for passengers aboard the luxurious river vessel Anawrahta, which sails along Myanmar’s enchanting Irrawwady and Chindwin Rivers. Heritage Line’s team of mixologists has created 10 Signature Cocktails with fresh, local Myanmar ingredients in mind. Beyond Chindwin features gin infused with pineapple mixed with apple juice and homemade pandan syrup, then topped with egg whites and a slice of lime.

Joy Luck Club at The Cabochon Hotel (the name originated from the mahjong club made famous by Amy Tan’s novel) is decorated with opulent antique furniture like vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunks and old French museum vitrines stuffed with fascinating curios and intriguing objects. In the late evening, the informal salon becomes a meeting place for those with a discerning palate that enjoy good wine or a fine malt whisky. The intimate Library Bar, sought-out for its snug sofas and cosy club chairs, is reminiscent of a gentleman’s club from the more decadent colonial days of the Orient. It is the perfect place for a tête-à-tête while sharing a signature G&T, custom cocktails, or your personal favourite drink.
