Set by the river and surrounded by beautiful countryside, this is a lovely place to stop for a few days on a trip round Northern Laos. The resort is extremely well maintained and the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. The rooms are stylish, well equipped and very clean. The bathrooms are excellent. We went on a couple of trips in the local area while we were there, and although the weather was very wet during our stay, our excellent guide made sure we got the best out of them, which wasn’t difficult as the scenery in the area is stunning. As others have said, the food at the resort is very good and the staff, rightly, take a lot of pride in it. In spite of this, they were still very tolerant of of our fussy teenagers and were happy to adapt the five course evening meals to suit them. We organised our transport through the resort, from Luang Prabang and onwards to Luang Namtha. It wasn’t cheap, but was well worth it as the road from Luang Prabang to Oudomxai is poor in parts and our driver was excellent. All in all, it’s hard to fault this resort, in fact it’s quite remarkable to find one of such quality in such an isolated area.
