“Luang Prabang is a relatively small, and for me one of the most beautiful in Asia.

In downtown, where most of the action is – hotels, shops, some temples – there are several hotels, all of them quite or very small.

We booked this trip very close to the date of arrival so we could not book any nice hotel downtown, which would be much more convenient because we could just walk most of the time, so we chose Satri House.

Satri house is not that far from the centre – about 5min in tuc tuc -, and if at first the distance seemed a disadvantage, at the end of the day I think it was a better choice as you avoid the noise of traffic, morning monks processions (around 6am) and night market (until 10pm).

The hotel is gorgeous, built mostly in a set of old colonial houses beautifully renovated. The atmosphere and the details transports you to colonial times, with comfort and taste at the same time.

The service is very good – check in and out is very quick, staff is always willing to help and they do it swiftly and with a smile.

Breakfast is a la cart (included in our reservation), with a few options available; the omelets were very tasty, fresh fruit juices, fruit, and awesome bread and croissants.

Unfortunately we did not try the restaurant but I think I is worth trying, at least judging by the quality of the breakfast.

All in all, I would definitively recommend this hotel!
