“What a stunningly beautiful hotel in a truly gorgeous setting next to the Saigon River. We only had 2 nights in HCMC at the end of a two week trip to Vietnam and with the benefit of hindsight would definitely have stayed longer at Villa Song. The hotel is located in District 2, away from the city but close enough not to be a problem for pick ups/drop offs etc from tour operators. We chose the hotel specifically for it’s location having done a similar thing in Bangkok where our hotel was located down the river with access to the city provided by shuttle boat. This worked perfectly for us then so we knew we would appreciate the same set up. The only flaw in our plan was allocating 2 nights instead of 4 or 5!
We did a full day trip on the Mekong River with Mango Cruises (highly recommended) which didn’t leave us much time to enjoy the hotel but what we did experience we loved and would definitely come back with more time to enjoy. Dinner at the restaurant watching the light change over the river with all the beautiful fairy lights decorating the garden was simply spectacular. Food & service was great. Rooms are big and beautifully appointed, good air con, good bathroom although the layout doesn’t leave much bench space for toiletries and makeup however that would have been my only disappointment.
Breakfast is a la carte with wonderful options on the menu and great coffee included.
If we were coming back to Saigon I wouldn’t book anywhere but here. Truly one of the highlights in hotel experiences.
