“I rarely choose to review properties that have been so heavily reviewed by others — but felt I had to given some of the absurd comments. No Wi-Fi! No TV! All I can say is YEAH!!! There are times to just get off the grid. You don’t have to be connected 24-7. This is the magic of traveling to destinations such as Myanmar.
We had a “”lake view”” bungalow which we enjoyed. The bird guide was nice, but the binoculars were poor (but we had brought our own, so no problem). The air conditioner struggled during the day but was fine at night. Breakfasts were solid, if somewhat uninspired. Dinners (and you’re pretty much stuck here) were better than expected and more reasonably priced than we found at comparable sites (i.e. Bagan) in Myanmar. Wine selections, though, were quite limited and very costly. But the cocktails were interesting.
The new swimming pool is a welcome addition.
Without good road connections, you’ll probably be booked here through a tour company. If not, boat access is a key and can be arranged through the hotel.
