This hotel embodies the Luang Prabang vibe of tranquillity and charm. A small collection of two storey buildings, almost invisible from the road, close enough to the centre that you can easily walk or take one of the hotel bikes (no charge) to get to the main sites, but feels like an oasis of calm, with a couple of nice little swimming pools to cool off in after a hot day visiting temples (or whatever). Spacious, attractive rooms, tastefully furnished. Exceptionally comfortable beds. The breakfast is something to look forward to in itself – great coffee, delicious pastries, perfectly cooked eggs – all appearing minutes after you’ve ordered. Friendly, helpful staff. I’m rarely this gushing about a hotel but there’s nothing not to like about Satri House.
