We stayed a total of 8 nights in Mathis retreat, locally known as Kenanga. We booked a room/bungalow that was a bit more luxury. It was a very nicely decorated and spacious room with a good bed. The breakfast was nice, especially the baker’s selection (croissant, pain au chocolat and toast), but after 8 nights we would have liked to have a bit more choices, especially some healthy options. We had a lunch in the restaurant and it was really nice. The pool is very good, overlooking the rice fields. The last day our flight was in the evening and the manager offered us a late check out for free! Staff is very friendly. They offer a free shuttle to Ubud centre, but we preferred a scooter, which was a bit quicker.
