I returned to the Tugu 15 years after my first visit, and it remains a bastian of calm in a sea of tourists who are now expected in Bali. The dark wood and carvings are characteristic of Bali and perfect for someone looking for a Balinese style – not an American hotel. Food and service were top notch and delicious, and I noticed a few private rooms for private functions. We took beautiful pictures on the beach at sunset.
