Like being in a fairytale

“We got here by taxi from the airport, in which case the first impression wasn’t very good as we arrived in what would be the loading Bay Area. The other way would be to get taxi to the lake and then finish the last leg of the journey by boat. It’s an hour away by car and if you negotiate your return you can bring it down to 35,000 going and same back. If you book from the hotel it’s about double the price.

Once we were taken to reception we forgot our first impression – we were given a nice cold towel, some ice tea and all our bags were taken away from us. We were shown to our ‘rooms’ – they are huge, with a sofa area a free standing bath and an outside shower. we stayed in a garden view – so we had a porch with deck chairs overlooking a big water lily pond. Mini bar was free and water and fruit was replenished twice a day.
Our day trip on the lake was organised beautifully by the hotel – $43 for the boat – chairs on the boat were really comfortable, blankets, water and umbrellas all provided.

We liked this place so much that we only got out for the day trip – the rest of the time we spent enjoying the pool and the porch in our rooms, the bar and the restaurant – which are all great.
Tip – the mosquito curtain around the bed is there for a reason, without you’ll be bitten all night.
