“We stayed two nights at Jing’s Residence and what an amazing experience it was. A wonderful oasis of calm and tranquillity. The traditional Chinese courtyard style of residence with the modern facilities is very tastefully combined. The service could not be faulted. Staff were both attentive and friendly. We had a delicious Chinese meal in the restaurant and a most enjoyable afternoon tea in the beautiful upstairs room/library. Breakfast was very good too. There are many little touches which make Jing’s residence unique and which were much appreciated. I particularly enjoyed the honeyed dates. Also enjoyed was the tea (ginger and honey) served on arrival whilst we waited for our passports to be checked. Pingyao is a small walled city and we were fortunate to have a guide who was able to take us to places of historical interest in the vicinity. We would definitely recommend Jing’s Residence. It has a wonderful atmosphere and is very welcoming.
