Stayed here originally for 2 nights during our 3 month trip around SE Asia, as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Upon arrival, we were immediately upgraded for free, and shown to the most stunning villa ever! I had emailed the hotel with a few requests for my boyfriends birthday (cooking class in the morning, followed by massage and romantic dinner in the evening) and everything was put together perfectly for us. They effortlessly organised a tuk-tuk to and from town, as well as a day around the temples. The French owner was lovely to us, even extending our stay for an extra two nights for a bargain price as the hotel was quiet. The staff were attentive but not in an overbearing way. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in...felt like sleeping on a cloud!  All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend Samar to anyone staying in Siem Reap who are looking for a little luxury hotel! One small niggle- the cookery class could have been a bit more hands on, and it did seem to be expensive for what you got.
