“We spent 3 nights at villa song to round off our tour of Vietnam. The hotel is about 30 minutes by taxi or 20 minutes by the hotel’s motorboat to downtown Saigon. For us it was the perfect compromise; avoid the stiffling heat during the day and relax by the pool and in the evening take the motorboat downtown to enjoy the best of the city.
Hotel itself is all high ceilings; neutral tones and lots of nicely chosen art and books; very peaceful. Breakfast and dinner are served in the gardens overlooking the river or the adjoining dining room; breakfast is ala carte and is available all day which is a nice touch if you are only interested in relaxing. Lovely large pool which was never crowded; a small gym for those who should know better and an in-house spa; which we didn’t use but seemed good value.
We had a river-view room which was very spacious; walk in shower and also a bath. King size bed with a mattress to die for. Staff as seems to be the norm in Vietnam were unfailing helpful and polite. Cant think of any reason not to stay here the next time we return to Vietnam.
