Outstanding Safari Camp – but please remember this is a CAMP, a safari experience, not a luxury hotel and as such tents in the bush are the order of the day. Nevertheless the camp is well done and maintained. The food was excellent and plentiful, mostly Sri Lankan cuisine. Noel and his partner Cecile are excellent hosts and his team of camp managers, cooks and guides are very professional and accommodating. The safari guides are extremely good, highly knowledgable and ethical in their wildlife policies. The safari vehicles are well appointed, up-to-date 4×4’s – all important to me as a professional wildlife photographer. Yala National Park itself is just a short drive away from the camp, (at the time of my visit, camps and lodges are not permitted in the park itself) great wildlife encounters are frequent and the varied landscapes are stunning. Noel Rodrigo’s is perhaps a little more expensive than the other camps, hotels and wildlife tours I saw out there, but for the personal attention, quality of the camp, vehicles, guides, food and service.... it is certainly worth it.
