“A proper oasis in the old town of Chiang Mai. It is really beautiful and immaculately maintained – not a leaf or petal out of place. We had a standard room which was fine – spacious and with a lovely large bed. The shower was walk-in and big enough for my husband to use without complaints. The shower has hot, cold, on or off – it was fantastic and extremely strong!
There was plenty of free drinking water and for the staff, nothing was too much trouble, at all.
The pool area is lovely and while we were there, they replaced the sun beds which were much better!
We ate in the restaurant the first night as we got a bit lost when we wandered out of the hotel. It was great – I am surprised by some of the negative reviews. There is a nice selection of both thai and western dishes on the menu and we went for the Thai ones which were very good.
Breakfast was amazing. The white table clothed tables were set up in the courtyard and used the beautiful ‘antique’ crockery. As ever, the service was impeccable. As well as a small buffet there was the choice of a variety of hot dishes, all included in the price.
The only downside was the internet – I know that a lot has been said about this and as one reviewer stated, if you want to get away from it all then great, some of us don’t have that luxury and I need to check in (home and work) at least once a day. The internet is deeply frustrating and I almost knocked off a star. If the management are reading this PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE INTERNET!
