Tugu Bali is no exception. First, it is beautiful, truly beautiful. You cross the entry bridge and know you are in a different world. There is a small, perfect museum dedicated to interpreting the puputan when Balinese committed suicide rare than submit to Dutch rule. The “”lobby”” is more a great, dimly cool hall with private dining or meeting areas around it. The upper floor provides views of the ocean, and the pool is an intimate and welcoming space. Across the road is a new lawn with a deck on which to sip a cocktail beach-side as you watch the sun set into the ocean.
The individual rooms are lovely and have private plurge pools as well as lovely soaking tubs in private gardens. We were in Room 101 and thought it perfect.
