A once in a lifetime experience

My husband and I took the 3D/2N trip In Tanjung Puting National Park. We found the whole experience to be absolutely incredible. The boat was well equipped and very comfortable, with a spacious deck area fitted with comfortable rattan sofas and chairs. Air conditioned cabins with en-suite facilities made the whole trip very civilised. We ate all meals on board for three days and I was very impressed with the variety of dishes on offer, the quality and the freshness of the ingredients. Freshly squeezed fruit juices were a delight. The food was a good balance of Indonesian and Western dishes (pancakes for breakfast!). Our guide Faisal was very knowledgeable and the entire crew went to great effort to spot wildlife on the banks as we cruised along and stopped the boat so we could get a proper chance to observe at close range. The orangutan feeding stations were busy, but not overly crowded, and the experience of seeing the orangutans swinging in through the trees for their food will stay with me for a very long time. Although this tour is at the higher end of the price range for Tanjung Puting trips I would thoroughly recommend it as great value for money and a wonderfully memorable experience. The personal touch that Gaye puts to make sure clients are happy with their tour shows just what a professionally run company this is.
