“On arrival we were upgraded to a river view room. The rooms are wonderful. Decorated in local style. very comfortable beds. Bathroom huge with both shower and bath. Plenty of hot water.
The restaurant fantastic. Meals a sheer delight for taste and presentation. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a bridge over the river and on the other side you will find the pool – wonderful setting then there is a viewing tower where you can enjoy a G&T as the sun goes down. As the lodge is situated high up it can get chilly in the evening. Fire boxes were put by your table. A hot water bottle in the bed and heaters in the room. The hotel provides trips. We went on a walking trip to a village and waterfall where we had our picnic lunch. We only stayed two nights. I suggest more nights are needed to enjoy other trips and the village, and also the grounds and delights of the lodge (own hot spring)
Muang is definitely a hidden gem.
