Glenburn Tea Estate: "Wonderful experience"
Stayed here for two nights at the end of a hectic 3 week tour. The charm of the old buildings is apparent as soon as you arrive. Courteous staff ensure you settle into your accommodation [ in our case a bungalow in the grounds ]. The food is excellent and we managed to go on two accompanied walks which were great. The walk to the river was down hill all the way. On arrival, out of nowhere it seemed, a barbeque lunch with cold beer appeared ! "This island is staggering. We arrived on the boat to a millionaires welcome, we were blown away and the only guests on the island, ill never have this again in my life. Make sure you do the pearl lunch trip it was fab. "Nice an relaxing. Great service. All the mod cons. Probably the most luxurious accommodation on the island. The Indonesian BBQ that you can order on request is amazing. Great aircon, pool, beds, little kitchen and even a USB with shows on it in case you want a lazy afternoon watching Human Planet, Bikes and lights supplied. Great architecture, happy helpful staff. I have travelled extensively all over India for more than two decades and never come across a more perfect haven - the most wonderful respite after hectic days at JLF and the hurly burly of Jaipur. It is so rare to feel so spoiled in such an unspoiled setting of invigorating sweet air and such pleasing aesthetics. Ishwar and his team are without parallel for their genuine hospitality, highest standards of solicitous service and sheer warmth. There is so much to admire about this sanctuary - the pleasing artistic details, the supreme comfort, the cosseted sense of privacy and privilege and the most outstanding food.I cannot commend this place enough as somewhere to come to be at the still centre of the world, to rest and revive. One night is not long enough and even before leaving, yearn to return. The quiet river view makes you feel you are far away from the lively life of HCMC. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel so much. It was a relaxing experience, especially the boat riding in the afternoon was so wonderful. Spa and swimming pool was also nice. "Hotel Tugu Lombok was the nicest hotel that I have ever stayed at so far. It has beautiful grounds - even if the rest of the hotel was terrible [though it certainly isn't] you'd stay there just for the scenery. The rooms are really gorgeous with traditional Indonesian decorations and a beautiful bath. The food was lovely and the dining areas were gorgeous like the rest of the hotel. We were very impressed with the dinner one night as the staff set us up with a table on the beach. The staff were incredibly accommodating and were able to find us a room at short notice [we'd left another hotel and come here]. The hotel is expensive but you can really see why. Fabulous hotel, charming, immaculate throughout. Loved the landscaping, gardens, artwork and superbly comfortable bedrooms. Great base to explore one of SE Asia’s most delightful towns. Jing's Residence in the charming old town of Pingyao is one of a kind. It has all the attributes one wishes a hotel would possess, but rarely encounters in real life. For one thing, I was struck by the extremely appealing aesthetics of the compound, with its inner courtyards, its beautiful rooms/suites with all the amenities one would desire, its upstairs library with computers, its excellent restaurant... It is, however, the atmosphere of the place, the way you feel welcome and the sense that the staff cares about your well-being that really makes Jing's Residence such a unique and pleasing experience. My only regret is that, because of our tight schedule, we could not stay a few extra days and imbibe more of this relaxing, yet invigorating atmosphere.The Hue House: "Amazing and Excellent Value"
"We look for a restaurant Close to our hotel and this was one of 6. It had excellent reviews and we wholly endorse that view. We were warmly greeted and looked after by friendly smiling staff. Who were keen to serve but not over attentive in doing so, just as we preferred. The choice of food was traditional/regional Vietnamese and was superb. Excellent appetisers and main courses This is a little gem and not that busy probably because it is accessed via a main office building reception. Located on the 10th floor it enjoys commanding views over the city. Highly recommended."
