Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Peaceful cruise on Bassac III"
We did an overnight cruise on the Bassac III boat on 6/7 Dec 2017. It was an excellent way to see some of the Mekong Delta, combined with some relaxation and wonderful food. The crew were friendly and welcoming and the trip very well organised. The cabins are very small but comfortable and the small ensuite bathroom ingeniously designed. The food was plentiful and delicious. We visited a floating market and a local market and particularly enjoyed the visit to a local village, where we tasted fruit at a local house. Our young guide was delightful and, as she came from the area, she was able to give us a good insight into the daily life on the Mekong. This trip is highly recommended.Mie Cafe: "Do not miss this restaurant"
We went here on our first night straight after arriving in Cambodia. We stayed at Le Meridien which is only a 5 min walk. The food was great. Of course had to try the fish Amok - best fish amok I had in Cambodia. All the food is prepared by the kitchen staff with utmost precision which you will notice back in the taste. Half open kitchen and very pleasant staff. The chef came and visit all the tables personally to check if all was good. This restaurant has impressed me - must go to even if you stay a bit further away.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Blissful retreat"
Sandat is a hidden retreat on the outskirts of Ubud. The design is something very special, tents and lumbungs nestled in hidden away paddy fields and forests. The attention to detail on design is exceptional and the service is superb. We had a few problems with air conditioning but all was forgiven with how much effort the team went to to resolving the issues and making us comfortable. Truly magical and a must visit.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "The most amazing experience"
"O h my goodness! These people know about customer service! Not only the nicest people running this but really smart too. Knew everything about the wildlife so it was a great learning experience and so interesting. The level of detail they have gone into to make this a truly exceptional experience is unbelievable. The food is probably the best I've had in Sri Lanka and that's saying something! The accommodation is clean and so well designed. We were lucky enough to be staying in the beautiful master bedroom tent which is truly exquisite. Showering under the stars in complete privacy and safety is something I will remember forever. Our two teenage sons found this to be an awesome experience and as we know, teenagers can be a tough crowd to please! Sadly, we didn't see any leopards on either of the two drives but we did see plenty of other interesting wildlife. Others we met had seen some leopards on their drives so we were just unlucky and that can't be helped. None the less it was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka without question."Les Maisons Wat Ko: "“Maison Wat Kor – Peaceful, beautiful, welcoming”"
This is a small, simple hotel, where the emphasis is on the setting, the lake, the garden, the service rather than in-room facilities. The rooms are quite simple, but perfectly comfortable, with all the facilities you reasonably need, and mostly look over a wonderful little lake with waterlilies and all kinds of flowers. There is a small restaurant serving simple but beautifully prepared food, and offering three set breakfasts - all very well judged. The most notable thing, however, is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they really make you feel as if you were in your own home. We cannot recommend if highly enough - we really didn't want to leave!Amata Lanna: "A ‘homecoming feel’ Resort"
"Between 19th and 21st September, we, totally 11 persons were staying at this Thailand-style furnished resort. Notwithstanding it was a small one with only 12 rooms, our experiences of staying there were really great. First of all, the place was tidy, clean and quiet. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The facilities were sufficient and, most of all, there was a jacuzzi found in each room. All of us admitted that it was a bonus to our stay. Another thing worth mentioning is that the resort was running by a twin brothers. They were very kind and helpful. The handsome big brother boss, after knowing that we wanted to buy a special brand of pepper, he volunteered to search for us. Though we told him that we had tried most of the supermarkets but failed , he guaranteed that he could complete the mission successfully. Finally he handed to us 6 bottles of that pepper in the morning before we left! I really feel this Amata Lanna Village Resort is though small yet complete in every detail!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Incredibly beautiful hotel!"
My boyfriend and I stayed at The Blue Mansion for two nights. The rooms were really comfortable, with a good bed and pretty bathroom. The interior of the hotel was incredibly atmospheric and beautiful - like you made a time travel back in time. Also the breakfast included some really yummy options and we really liked the fact that there was a swimming pool present at the hotel. All together we had an excellent stay. Therefore we would truly recommend Cheong Fatt Tze as a hotel!Dewakan: "Best meal hands down"
Drop whatever you're doing, fly to Kuala Lumpur and eat at Dewakan immediately! I had a truly amazing and unforgettable meal there. The entire team that works there are perfection. The view into the kitchen just added an additional element to the meal. I loved every minute!
Stayed November 2016, traveled as a couple"Cuca: "Hier moet moet MOET je naartoe!"
