Villa Song Saigon: "Thank god we stayed at this hotel in HCMC"
I am so glad we stayed in this hotel. We said it about 5 times a day how happy we were that we chose this hotel. HCMC is a big dirty busy city and this hotel is a little haven in HCMC. The other hotels we walked into in the city were very old and tired and i didnt see one I would have preferred to have stayed in. If we had stayed in town as our final stop of a fantastic holiday we would have been very very disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel, everything is brand new. Our bedroom was a standard bedroom and was very big with a very big shower. The pool is so relaxing. The only thing we were worried about was this hotel is in District 2 however it didn't matter as we caught the speed boat into town when we wanted and they gave us a mobile phone to call when we needed to be picked up - it is a 10 min boat road and very relaxing trip. I would stay here again and again and would not bother looking at hotels in HCMC D1. When you get off the speed boat the city is right there so that is not a problem either. My only complaint of this hotel is the service is not spot on and needs polishing. We constantly had to wave the waiters over for drinks and when we were at the pool they were nowhere to be seen (there is a bell to ring but they are slow to come) however this would not deter me from staying here again.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Walk into amazing history! Most excelent"
"Most amazing history and architecture; a truly east meets west in a unique blend that worked in C19th and is a place which has a feeling that has to be experienced to be believed. The current owners restored this place with meticulous detail to the most miniscule of reproduced effects, having to seek out craftsmen to work with a lost art. External feature details are fashioned from broken and shaped especially fired porcelain bowls. Colourfast beauty that will last potentially for centuries. The world should thank people with this level of vision to preserve such magnificent history. The history of the original owner, Cheong Fatt Tze is as fascinating as the building itself. We had the great privilege to meet and talk with owner, architect and one of the visionaries behind the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion renovation which won the UNESCO Most Excellent Project, Lin Lee Loh-Lim. Passion personified! Check when Lin Lee Loh-Lim is conducting tours. Having stayed for several nights I can say the place and the staff are the most amazing I have ever encountered. Oh that we should all take so much pride in our work and enjoy it so much. The Restaurant with French fusion dishes is great value for money and excellent quality. This one liner is a total understatement. Yes I'm besotted with the Blue Mansion, its has been one of those experiences I will treasure and talk about for the rest of my life! Something I must say is that some of the surrounding property owners appear to have little respect for what the Blue Mansion represents and the leadership that properties of this calibre offer the future of Georgetown and Penang as a world class destination. I can only hope that the Penang City Council and Chamber of Commerce can work with all accommodation providers and landowners in the area to put sustainable noise abatement in place to enhance the experience and vision that has been so delightfully preserved in the Blue Mansion and the surrounding area. I'll be back to experience the charming ambiance of the Blue Mansion in the future. I wish the owners and staff every continuing success."Amata Lanna: "Angie and Eva’s celebration trip to Thailand"
Tips are discretionary and we tipped daily. They have a shared tip box, but of course you can tip individuals. We found hetaff very appreciative of our tipping and in some cases it seemed they were pleasantly surprisedJing’s Residence: "Luxury hotel in the middle of an ancient walled city"
"Stayed here for two night during our tour of China. Unexpectedly luxurious hotel in the middle of Pingyao - also very expensive particularly when compared to any other hotel in Pingyao. Having said the above the service was faultless and the hotel was clean and comfortable - which considering the coal dust in the air must have taken some doing. Breakfasts were OK but the evening meals were very good indeed."Glenburn Tea Estate: "A piece of paradise"
"The Glenburn tea estate is in the most beautiful place on earth. On the first day we arrived to a warm welcome and I sat in our room looking over the tea gardens with the Himalayas rising majestically up in to the sky beyond I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Will and Faye were the perfect hosts and Parveez is the most enthusiastic person I have ever heard talk about tea. We learnt a great deal from him and can't wait to stock their delicious Darjeeling tea. We were looked after magnificently by all the staff, (especially Mandeep) and our guides were friendly and helpful and being local were a font of knowledge on all the wildlife and fauna and the ways of life for the people on the estate. We even joined in a game of 'Housey Housey'(Bingo) in the streets with the locals! Every evening we had supper around the large dinning table with the other guests and it was like a special dinner party. We met a wide variety of people from all corners of the globe and it was a lovely way to make new friends. It did not feel like a hotel but more like a home where you were always welcome and nothing was too much trouble. This is a hotel that everyone should have on their bucket list and I just hope we can return again one day."Satri House: "Ein Ort zum Verweilen"
Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Reverie Siam Pai: "A Truly Relaxing Paradise in Pai"
Our stay at Revere Siam was exactly what we needed. It was the perfect getaway, surrounded by nature with a mountain backdrop in a peaceful area of Pai! We went with the elegantly designed villa that had a Jacuzzi in the bathroom, and a big private garden. From the second we entered our villa we could clearly see they put some love and serious thought into designing this stunning hotel. To be honest the entire property was just breathtaking! The staff are friendly and the environment is peaceful! We spent most of our time in Pai at Revere Siam relaxing by the pool, enjoying the Jacuzzi and eating delicious meals (Lamb & Salmon dishes are top notch delicious, so is the breakfast) at their Mediterranean restaurant instead of exploring Pai. This resort is truly a paradise. We will definitely come back here again, no doubt about it!Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "Great food and a great way to see the river"
This is definitely a very good alternative to the other cruises. It's quiet, relaxed, the food is great (and they were very kind with providing non-seafood options when asked in advance), and the glass of champagne was certainly welcome too!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Wonderful location, and purpose to build eco tourism in Cambodia"
Gorgeous location, and the resort working with local villages to support a sustainable economy and environment we were impressed with. The waterfall close by is lovely and being able to kayak and paddle off your tent deck, whenever you want was lovely, peaceful and good sunsets as well. Food was good and the transport both ways was easy, and well organised. The staff were always extremely helpful and cheerful which really added to the experience.NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Incredible Experience"
"We visited the Leopard Safari February 2015 while on a long overseas trip to SE Asia-- hence I am posting this a year later! It was a remarkable experience. The camp itself was a pleasure to stay in-the tents and beds comfortable and spotless--a remarkable feat given the rain and mud. We were travelling with a four year old who explored every path and the staff were marvelous help keeping her amused-they were genuine and attentive which we appreciated! The food was memorable and we felt completely catered to--my husband and I prefer food on the spicy side and the chefs certainly delivered! Now for the wildlife: we were extremely lucky--saw leopards every second time we went out (we went out a total of 5 or 6 times) so we would recommend staying at least two nights--we stayed three because we wanted to increase our chances of seeing leopards. In one encounter, we tracked a leopard as it moved around a large watering hole and the guide accurately predicted where it would emerge and you could actually see the animals reacting (giving their warning calls) to the hidden leopard as it moved around the small lake. It was like living a National Geographic episode! The guides are clearly leopard enthusiasts but the number of exotic (to us) birds, reptiles and small game they identified for us made each trip out an experience to remember. The icing on the cake was seeing young leopards playing together only about a car length away from us! The guide generously shared all his high res photos with us; our camp seemed to be in a prime location to access the park; our tour appeared more intimate than others we saw and our guides seemed to be highly respected by the other drivers (who shared tips and sightings freely with us). This really is a first class experience and we would and have recommended Noel's Leopard Safari to anyone travelling to Sri Lanka. "
