Your Host & The Team

Kawin NualkairKawin Nualkair
“Maduzi Hotel is the creation of the Nualkhair family. The décor is based on our past family roots: a mixture of influences from the Aryans from the Qum of Iran, the Chinese Cantonese region, and Thailand from the old Siam era. The hotel is run by my brother, Kawin and me, Wikki. While I take care of operations, my brother takes care of everything else. My sister-in-law is a food critic and a journalist so she is constantly testing our services and food from our restaurant, Maduzi by Chef Yuya. Our partnership with Chef Yuya was carefully formed based on our Asian backgrounds, and we were able to create a unique French-Asian cuisine designed exclusively by Chef Yuya. We would like to showcase the home-style service of the Nualkhair family to guests and visitors who get the chance to enter our hotel. We want to use our own brand of Thai hospitality to make them feel very welcome, while not feeling so estranged from their own culture. We are able to do this because we've grown up in both the East and the West.”

Welcome to Bangkok

Founded in 1782 by King Rama I, the “City of Angels” is an energetic metropolis that pulsates with life—a perfect entry point for exploring all that Thailand has to offer. Often referred to as Krung Thep by Thais, the capital city is home to one of Asia’s richest historical, cultural and architectural heritages. Delicious aromatic street food permeates the air, varied outdoor markets, cooking classes, indulgent massages and nonstop nightlife all contribute to its magnetic charm.

Southeast Asia’s largest museum the National Museum, the expansive golden royal complex Grand Palace (home of the radiant Emerald Buddha), and the sprawling reclining Buddha can all be found in the Rattanakosin District. A boat ride up and down the Chao Phraya River and klongs (canals), lined with temples and historic edifices, is essential. The downtown old western quarter, filled with neoclassical buildings and antiques shops, and Chinatown offer additional sides to this flavourful city. Weekend travellers will delight in the Chatuchak Weekend Market containing more than 15,000 stalls selling goods from every part of Thailand, or the unique floating market known as Taling Chan. Bangkok’s charms are addictively splendorous.
