Koh Lipe & Trang

Pick up at the arrival of your speed boat (from Langkawi or the continent) – Pick up can be arranged also from HatYai airport. Short drive to the North West of the Island – quiet and away from the main tourist areas, bars and guesthouses – to reach Casa de Lipe, your home for 4 nights. Casa de Lipe is the most charming resort in Lipe. 10 private pool bungalows only, with direct access to a private beach facing sunset and only 5-10mn walk from the main beach in the south of the island. All rooms have been designed with simplicity, in white, to enhance the beach atmosphere. The interior is decorated with brown wood contrasting with white walls and the red furniture. During your stay you can enjoy the Thai dishes served at the restaurant, the cocktails on the main terrace , but also snorkeling on the reef in front of the resort, borrow a transparent kayak... or ask the staff to organize a boat for you to explore the islands around - for instance Tarutao Park - which u=used to be known for pirates - an area of more than 1,490 square kilometers and many islands classified as both ASEAN Heritage Sites and world heritage sites.

After a last breakfast and check out around 11am, you will be dropped at the embarking poit for the speedboat to the continent. Speedboat departs at 11.30 and reaches Pakbara around 13.30. A driver will wait for you at the harbour of Pakbara, you may want to have a quick bite nearby. 2 hrs drive to reach Trang and check in in your luxury tent for the next 2 nights. Enjoy the afternoon to explore the property... or if you have time they can arrange a visit to the nearby waterfall, or you can borrow a bicycle to visit the surroundings. No arrangement for dinner.

Trang is famous for its food, especially the local dim sum (dumplings). We propose you to start the day with a local-style dim sum breakfast in the city. Then drive to the neighbouring district of Kantang (25km) – former capital of the province of Trang – when the city was an important port town due to its strategic location along the trade routes of the Andaman Sea. It served as a trading hub for goods like rubber, tin, and other natural resources. During the reign of King Rama VI a Railway Station was constructed as part of the Southern Railway project – today an historical landmark famous for its architecture, reminiscent of European train stations of that era. You will visit the train station, the harbour and the main street facing the harbour with its temple and shophouses. Stop for lunch to taste local Peranakan delicacies. In the afternoon, as rubber plantation were (still are) a key economic resource, we will visit a unique creative and eco factory. Rubber trees when they cannot produce rubber, used to be cut and burnt, as they had no more value. The founder of this factory had the idea to use the wood, very light, to create wooden toys for kids… So we will show you this very interesting and unique factory, not only for the products, but also for the quality of work for the employees, especially with their own organic garden for the canteen.! Back to the resort to rest. No arrangement for dinner.

Enjoy a late breakfast… and depending on your plan, we can drop you at the airport (flight to Bangkok), or continue your discovery of the unexplored parts of Thailand to Krabi or Phatthalung.
