Provincial Sojourn 1

In the morning you will transfer to Ayutthaya. In this ancient capital you will visit its top sites including Wat Phra Si Sanphet (the symbol of Ayutthaya), the ancient royal palace, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol and its reclining Buddha, and the riverside temple Wat Chaiwatthanara. After lunch at a local restaurant you will continue onwards up north to the Suphanburi region. A few kilometres before the residence, you will alight from your vehicle and climb aboard your boat, which will take you up the river, passing by small villages and beautiful landscapes filled with rich bird life along the way before arriving to the private jetty at “The Bohemian’s Residence”

Depending on what you have decided to do, just relax in your villa or spend the day exploring the area. If you wish, you can get up before dawn and participate in the daily alms ceremony held right next to the residence. Witness the procession of monks donning saffron coloured robes and silk umbrellas, as they offer up their alms bowl so that the villagers (and you if you wish) place rice into their bowl as an offering. Afterwards, you can go back to sleep, or go for a swim before breakfast. Why not stop at a tavern to taste a local Thai soup or snack mid-morning? Walk or bike ride around the village and explore the paths along the rice paddy fields in the heart of the country’s rice bowl. Go fishing for some famous river prawns, then learn how to cook authentic Thai food. It’s up to you.

In the afternoon have a snack, work out at the gym and play petanque. Head to your private jetty to take your boat up the river along the peaceful banks to see the houses and temples. Stop one of the temples where your guide can help you start a conversation with the monks. If you prefer to just stay “at home” enjoy a fruit juice or tea and relax, or step out to learn more about the life, activities and customs of the local villagers. Dinner served in your villa.

After breakfast, and a last dip in the pool, you shall depart the residence to discover the region. You will make a stop at Samchuk to wander around an ancient market, and small alleyways to glimpse at the old wooden homes and shops located on the river’s edge. After lunch at a local restaurant located next to the market you will continue on to Bangkok and drop you back in the city.

After breakfast you will head out towards Uthai Thani. You will continue northeast to explore verdant landscapes, lush greenery, and ancient caves. You will then head back to Uthai Thani where the excursion continues with a short river cruise along the picturesque Sakaekrang River, highlighted by its floating gardens.
Lunch will be served onboard the boat. In the afternoon you shall visit the elegant temple covered in small mirrors, Thasung. You will then cross the river with your vehicle and make your way back to your villa. Dinner served in your villa.

Then Day 4 is the same as The Bohemian’s Residence – Samchuk – Bangkok above
