TIGER MOUNTAIN POKHARA LODGE: "Rural eco-lodge with stunning views"
We stayed here for a couple of nights in October 2015. It was the ideal relaxation before embarking on a trek in the Annapurna region. The lodge aims to be very eco-friendly and produces much of its own food in the grounds. Escorted walks are possible; we went on a short 2-hour one and gained an insight into Nepalese rural life. We stayed in our own bungalow, and took meals and drinks in the main building, which has a bar and restaurant. The food was excellent! Our lunches were Nepalese and dinner more European in style, and the breakfasts were huge! We enjoyed sun-downers and snacks in the evening in the bar, and during power cuts it was romantically candle-lit! We were woken early with coffee at our room to view the sunrise over the Fishtail mountain - a fabulous sight! Attentive and friendly staff made our visit perfect.Maison Polanka: "A pleasure to stay there"
This is a wonderful hotel with only 5 rooms set in a beautiful garden in a secluded road in Siem Reap. We were there for three nights and were treated superbly by all the staff. Nothing was too much for them. If we wanted breakfast in our room at 06:30 because we were being picked up at 07:00, as was the case on two mornings, it was there. When we used the swimming pool one afternoon we were provided with tea and snacks. I can honestly say we were treated wonderfully well everywhere we stayed on our tour of Vietnam and Cambodia but Maison Polanka was a cut above. The food was very good and our room was beautifully kept. We can honestly recommend Maison Polanka to anyone who is looking to stay in Siem Reap and wants a unique experience.Dewakan: "Amazing restaurant – GO"
"When we watched John Torode's Malaysia programme back in the UK , he showed this place and so we booked it for our last night in KL. I have to admit as it got closer I got concerned that we had made a mistake. No malaysian we spoke to in KL had heard of the place and it soon became apparent that it was on the outskirts of town, a good hour away from central KL and forms part of the KDU campus. I need not have worried however. The whole experience from start to finish was brilliant. The service was attentive, the team enthusiastic about the food and the food itself was inventive and interesting. We had the 17 course tasting menu and every dish was different and innovative in its use of traditional Malay ingredients. Notable dishes included a perfectly rendered crispy duck skin over succulent rare duck meat, as well as the almost Heston Blumenthal like childish fun of putting together the slow baked red snapper in broth dish. There was only one dish we didn't particularly enjoy, which was the prawn dish and we found the texture of the raw prawns a bit odd, but it was clever cooking nonetheless with the flavour combination. This place is worthy of a Michelin star. My only concern is that being so far out of town and having only 10 tables, it is not getting enough clientele. So please, please if you enjoy inventive and innovative cuisine, go to this restaurant."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A little piece of paradise above Pokhara"
Stayed here for 2 nights on a tour of Nepal and it was the highlight of the trip. Having stayed here in 2011 I was looking forward to my return visit and was not disappointed. The staff, as ever, were fantastic. Marcus was extremely helpful, going out of his way to help a couple of our group who were ill (illness contracted at previous places NOT at Tiger Mountain!). The choice of activities on offer is excellent, the food wonderful, the lodges superb - I'm looking forward to a return visit. I can't recommend this place highly enough.Cuca: "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for me"
Was wondering where to eat in Bali, i know there are so many sorts of restaurants everywhere and some a just a letdown....so wife recommended why don't we try Cuca, since some of her friends said good things about it. Since we are staying in Uluwatu, so it was not that far for us to get over there. We arrived slightly over 2pm and the restaurant was empty, i asked my wife are you sure this place is good? We were greeted and showed to our table...each table is separated by a curtain for privacy, so we decided to choose the table closest to the full view of the kitchen. Everyone was busy, apparently there is a close event that night. So we were the only guest. Our waitress was this pleasant looking girl that was very attentive and took time to explain the menu. We decided to try the tasting menu, i think was about 7 sharing courses. I won't go through the menu, you have to come and try it out for yourself...my only verdict is "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for us"Muang La Resort: "Hidden gem"
By the moment we checked in, we felt at home. Great rooms on stlits, nice decoration and superb bahroom. Great riverview watching local life (bathing, laundrying, fishing) and buffaloes. Superb attentive service, such as hot herbal and ginger tea in the tub, local espresso coffeemachine on the terrace below the rooms. Friendly staff with a special mention to Rodolphe, the French Manager, who makes your stay being so special. Excellent creative meals and picknicks, enjoyable excursions. A great guide showed us the secrets of the Laos forests (edible herbs, medicinal plants), a true authentic experience. and last but not least, the MASSAGE....unique and perfect.Cuca: "Favourite restaurant"
We went to Cuca on our last night in Jimbaran, saving the best for last! Such a beautiful setting and the staff are lovely. The meal is tapas style, beautifully presented and delicious. Everyone should experience Cuca at least onceInle Princess Resort: "Fantastic experience on the lake"
Unlike other hotels on the lake, as your motor boat nears the resort, the motor is stopped and a local rows the boat in using his right thigh! That was definitely a unique experience for us but it also contributed to our resort being quiet and restful. We were greeted warmly and escorted to our private chalet, which had a beautiful living area, a veranda overlooking the lake, a large bathroom with bath tub and an outdoor shower. We definitely felt pampered during our one night at this wonderful resort. The dinner and our buffet breakfast the next morning did not disappoint. Truly a great experience for usTugu Bali: "Magical grounds and delightful staff"
We loved our Dedari Suite with the private pool. Our favorite feature was the beautiful and peaceful indoor/outdoor shower - I've never enjoyed washing up more! The grounds were lovely, and the location right next to Batu Bolong Beach was great for surf lessons. Every single staff member was welcoming and friendly, and they truly went out of their way to help us get the most out of our stay.MAISON POLANKA: "Best hotel I’ve stayed at"
My boyfriend and I stayed here for four days and everything - from the food to the service to the rooms - was perfect. The staff works hard to make your experience perfect. The Green Room is beautiful as are the grounds and the pool. I've stayed in several hotels in several countries and this one is by far the best I've stayed at. Every detail is impeccable. The staff also helped us coordinate our tours to the temples and packed picnic breakfasts. Shoutout to our tuk tuk driver Vong - we loved him!
