"There’s only one downside - a very rough road to get to it. However, it’s only the final 30 minutes of the trip and trust me, it’s worth it! Large, clean and very comfortable bedrooms, amazing views of the hills of Darjeeling, the tea estates and the snow-capped Himalayas, quality breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner and, in between relaxing, some great things to do. A walk down to the river or up to a viewpoint led to cold towels and drinks, followed by amazing picnics. There are cars to take you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Highlight for us was spending time with the lovely Nimila, a local guide, who was knowledgeable, happy to talk about her life and the local community, and great company as well. "The place is a ""total work of art"" - the traditional building- the impressive collection of precious regional artifacts . We felt very relaxed in a wonderful secluded and quiet atmosphere- yet with one of the hotels bicycles or also by feet very close to the center of Luang Prabang or Mekong river site. The personal was very friendly and helpful -they even followed our taxi as we had forgotten something when leaving. "If you like a very mild degree of roughing it, this is a fabulous place to stay. The tents are very roomy and comfortable, the restaurant is delicious, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the setting -- well, look at the pictures! And yes, you can swim right from your tent! But make no mistake: it's not a hotel. The fantastic property nestled in the interiors of Rajasthan is a unique and interesting proposition. I truly enjoyed my stay was very well looked after.The heritage room was fabulous with all the amenities and the bathroom is of great quality. The food was of good quality and the personal involvement of the owners is quite apparent in the overall detailing. The staff is always ready to please. "A visit to lake inle was a magical one ,and staying at the inle princess was the icing on the cake .The setting was so peaceful in a quiet backwater ,our room was fabulous we couldn't have asked for more ,it overlooked the lake which had numerous birds flitting about from bushes to reeds what a setting to watch sunrises and sunsets.We had everything we needed for a perfect stay even down to binoculars . The food was excellent and all organic you could taste the difference ,everything was locally produced the hotel had its own area for growing all types of produce . To our surprise the even had 2 cat lodges as they are trying to preserve the Burmese cat breed . "My husband and I ended our 14 days in Cambodia with a 3 night stay at the lodge. It was the perfect end to a wonderful trip. The food was excellent and the staff were most accommodating and friendly. The ability to jump into the river right outside the tent, then relax on the recliner - repeat - was fabulous. The excursion to the waterfalls were particularly memorable. There is no wifi service but it was not missed and added to the relaxation. A stay here goes beyond the great food and fun as the owners of the lodge make a meaningful impact to the people in the local community and the environment. "This is a delightful boutique hotel away from the crowds of Ho Chi Minh City but with the benefit of regular speed boat shuttles to take you to the centre of town. The rooms are well appointed with luxurious amenities. The service is fantastic from the very helpful staff. The location is out of the centre of town but it's easy to get into the centre of town and the location on the river is very nice. Also, the local neighborhood has a number of restaurants, shops, tailors etc. The hotel concierge has a great list of activities and tours - all the ones we did we were great. Definitely recommend Villa Song."
