The Samar: "Perfect gateway to the temples, with the personal touch"
"I came to Siem Reap for a mix between work and leisure and Samar Villa was the perfect fit. First, as I saw in many reviews, Bertrand and his team are always very attentive to our every need. They helped us organize various functions: from meals in unique restaurants, to temples visits and surprising platform rental with full service on Tonle Sap. We and our clients left absolutely delighted by our stay. Apart from this wonderful service, the villa itself is remarkable. The owners have impeccable taste and a beautiful collection of antiques throughout the public areas and rooms. My suite was spacious and homey and spotless, like I've rarely seen. Breakfast and the food in general were very good and generous. All in all, I highly recommend it and look forward to a 2nd visit."Inle Princess Resort: "Lac inle"
"Très bel hotel dans un jardin magnifique avec un silence absolu juste interrompu par les grenouilles .La visite du lac Inle est magique quand on sort du circuit des touristes qui commencent à être trop nombreux et gênent la vie des Pecheurs ,faire attention aux guides peu professionnels je pense qu il faut y aller très vite çe sera très vite trop tard Stayed December 2016, traveled with friends"Cuca: "Fun and creative food"
"Our party of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids) came for dinner. We were a bit surprised that they had a kids menu. The kids really enjoyed their meals, although the portions were pretty tiny for 10-12 yr olds. We had some really fun cocktails including a tropical sangria and lime mojito. They started us with a taste of cotton candy coated with spices. We ordered a bunch of tapas to share including -mushroom fritters which were really good, I would get this again. -baked scallop w/mashed cauliflower: tasty and creamy cauliflower went really well with the scallop, I'd get this again. -roasted pork bun with pickled cabbage; good but definitely but definitely not the best (Momofuku) -smoked butterfish w beetroot cream- nice smokey flavor, solid dish -honey baked pumpkin salad w crunchy granola, a signature dish which was surprisingly good. I enjoyed the crunchy granola w the pumpkin -crispy fried chicken, pretty good and tasty but nothing that special -bbq octopus was ok -marinated pulled pork w soft boiled egg was ok, flavors were ok but not spectacular, wouldn't get this again. -clay pot mushroom rice was good with lots of mushrooms, portion was a bit small. -dessert cocoa99 was really yummy, warm chocolate w mint ice cream and cocoa croutons- I love mint & chocolate so this was great for me. -caramel apple w black pepper ice cream- ice cream was very interesting. Overall we had a really fun meal. Service was great, they were really friendly and nice. It was great to come in a big group to get to try a lot of different dishes. I would recommend Cuca for a nice meal out in Jimbaran."tugu bali: "Beautiful Old Bali Style"
"I had spend a couple of night's at the Tugu over Nyepi (Balinese day of silence) and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are stunning, full of little details that make your stay pleasant and also very unique - you feel in Bali, not like this could be any resort around the world. The staff is very sweet and friendly and the location is unbeatable, walking distance from the beach. "Muang La Lodge: "Peaceful place with very accommodating staff"
"The staff, premises and rooms make this place wonderful. Staff is extremely accommodating and anticipates every need. You don't ever get ""no"" as an answer. The amount of effort the staff gives is unmatched, especially in such a remote location. Food is great not amazing. They gave me extra portions since I was a big eater which was very kind. The Of Rice and Men excursion was great w an amazing picnic lunch. For our other excursion, Mountain bikes were mediocre but good enough for our ride. Not trails but back dirt roads. We also selected to do a full day hike w a guide. The part we did was great but if you plan on doing a hike make sure you ask some questions and prepare accordingly. We weren't warned until last minute about the potential leeches that would inevitably crawl on us during a certain point in the hike. We ended up not getting that far anyway as we cut our long hike short when we reached an extremely steep area w loose gravel. Getting down would have been too difficult. We are fit and intermediate hikers and it wouldn't have been enjoyable. Overall the Muang La Lodge experience was great. The price is what it is, and I found myself wondering if I could have found a better deal for a similar experience in Laos. Make no mistake, you're definitely in some great hands at the lodge."VILLA SONG SAIGON: "A luxurious and peaceful escape from the bustle of the city"
"Our first two nights in Vietnam were spent at Villa Song. This was the most idyllic way to kickstart our holiday. The location beside the river is specatular. We had the suite on the top floor with the little parlour. Our two girls slept in the parlour which worked perfectly - leaving us in the four poster bed. This is a very romantic, charming hotel - the furnishings and fittings are beautiful. But the key for us was that it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The first day we were collected by tour company Les Rives to take us by boat to the Chi Chi Tunnels – this was perfect because they could simply collect us and drop us back at the hotel’s private pier. The restaurant is fabulous – a beautiful al fresco location for dinner and breakfast. "Tandjung Sari: "A grand old lady!"
Whether you love Tandjung Sari as much as I did, or not, will depend on your perception of what constitutes a 'good' hotel. If you are looking for the height of modern luxury and state-of-the-art technology, this hotel is probably not for you! It is, however, the perfect choice for anybody wanting accommodation which oozes old-world style and class and which is full of charm and grace (...) I could not speak more highly of the staff, all of whom were gracious and graceful in their approach to guests -- they made me feel like an honoured guest rather than a mere paying customer. This was a brilliant experience -- just writing about it fills me with a warm glow -- and I very much hope that I will be able again to sample the delights of this grand old lady, Tandjung Sari. If you are thinking about it, do it!!Villa Song Saigon: "Superb and enchanting"
"You have to go to believe how unique it is . The speed boat to downtown Saigon was the icing on the gateau. We arrived mid morning and were offered complimentary breakfast . Our rooms were most exciting . I shall never forget Villa Song . "Mathis Retreat: "dans un cadre idyllique"
"Hotel agréable ,bien situé,entouré de riziéres ;Merci à Carine pour ses conseils avisés et ses propositions de visite personnalisées qui nous ont permis en 4 jours de connaitre la vie et la culture balinaise hors des sentiers battus.Personnel trés attentionné ,cuisine excellente et variée,chambre trés bien équipée ,trés calme et propre .Hotel que je conseille vivement. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Lombok: "Lombok at its very best"
"My partner and I have just returned home from a 12 night stay with the Tugu family. We spent 6 nights in an Aloon Aloon villa and 6 in a Svarga villa. Both rooms were large, with comfortable beds, good (partial outdoor) bathrooms, great air conditioning, and everything you could possibly need or wish for (except a hairdryer, which wasn’t a major problem). We booked airport transfers through Tugu which were like mini tours in themselves, we saw the monkey forest en route to Tugu and the beach roads on the way home. The welcome we received from every single member of staff was warm, genuine and gracious. The gardener even presented me with flowers every morning as we walked to breakfast. We enjoyed 2 different massages at the spa which were both very good, and one was complimentary. Both restaurants were great, and the food was consistently excellent, always well presented and with daily specials too. One evening we ate on the temple roof which was a lovely experience. Tugu arranged 2 trips for us, a panoramic waterfall walk and a day trip on the dragon boat to the Gili islands. We enjoyed both, but particularly the Gili trip; as we are novice snorkellers Nana and Sama our guides were very patient and we had a brilliant day and spent hours snorkelling around the coral reefs and saw many turtles. On my birthday the staff sang to me and gave me a lovely cake, and our room was decorated brilliantly with animals shaped from towels and candles and flowers. It was very special. An even lovelier surprise was they did the same thing the next night, which was our last night at the hotel! A completely different selection of animals made from towels. We enjoyed every moment of our time at Tugu. It is a peaceful, friendly, welcoming hotel which we hope to return to many more times. It is quiet, relaxing, maybe not for those seeking a wild nightlife as it is quite remote, but that is exactly what we wanted. Thank you particularly to Henry, Elly, Ruslan, Mahmud, Dedy, and Ige(?) Agus. We don’t recall the name of the towel arranging experts but they should have their own TV show just about towel arranging! We can’t wait to return to Tugu. Thank you again to everyone for such a lovely stay."
