Mie Cafe: "Fantastic dinner!"

Review by: Emily M | Source: Trip Advisor
"Just wrapped up dinner here. The food was creative and delicious (prawns with pumpkin curry was the highlight for me), and the service was prompt and friendly. The dining area had a lovely ambiance. The chef even came out to personally ensure we were enjoying our dinner. It was a great way to spend the evening- I'd recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and relax after a day of temple sightseeing!"

The Hue House: "Unforgettable night at The Hue House"

Review by: Chu Nhu L | Source: Trip Advisor
"It was our 1st year anniversary yesterday. My boyfriend booked a table at The Huế House for this special occasion. The restaurant is on the rooftop 10th floor of an office building where we can see Saigon at night time. We came in the afternoon & catched the sunset - very romantic atmosphere which is suitable for us. The food was very delicious. Very nice decor as well. The restaurant owner was very nice to us, when he knew about this special occasion, he prepared us a cake as a gift. Thank you very much. This place is highly recommended "

Chakrabongse Villas: "Wonderful Oasis in the heart of Old Bangkok"

Review by: Arturmaks | Source: Trip Advisor
"What a wonderful place. Bangkok was supposed to be a place where we adjusted to the time difference in Thailand - but actually loved our experience here - and much of it is thanks to our expereience at the Chakrabongse Villas. Now don't get me wrong - I gave it 5 stars because I can't give 4.5 - but this really is a lovely property and so close to many of the important sites here in the city. Our experience here in Bangkok got off on the wrong foot - but the Villas made it right almost instantly. Our prearranged driver was a no-show at the airport - apparently due to an accident. When we called the hotel, they had a new driver to pick us up within 15 minutes. Upon our arrival at the hotel, our room was ready - and that at around 8 in the morning on a Sunday. We deeply appreciated being able to check in and shower. The room was quite lovely. On the second floor overlooking a beautiful fountain and tropical garden. THe large king size bed was remarkably comfortable and the room was very well appointed and spacious. Huge bathroom and shower. The room also had a large balcony with a queen size bed, a table and chairs as well as 2 loungers. We used all of this during our three day stay. We also enjoyed the INCREDIBLE food here. Breakfasts were delicious - but the dinners were out of this world. Wonderful Thai cuisine overlooking the river and the some of the beautiful temples here in Bangkok. The remarkably courteous staff took great care of us. Whether it was arranging fantastic tours of the temples and palaces or going to the floating market. All was done with remarkable ease and courtesy. I would highly recommend this wonderful property. It truly is an oasis in the heart of the city. It was a great opening to our 2 week Thailand experience."

Reverie Siam: "Beautiful hotel"

Review by: Mayasolo | Source: Trip Advisor
The hotel was stuning and the room with the stand alone bath tab (river view) was amazing! The gardens, the lobby and of course the rooms were just gorgeous and very relaxing! The only minus was the restaurant- although it had a great tasety food it was all tiny so if you are hungry it's problematic to eat there. However breakfast was nice and the staff brought us more bread, and juice when needed. The staff were also very kind, and overall I would recommand this beautiful place to friends! P.s- it is 5 min from the walking streets of Pai but the hotel runs a shuttle that will take you whenever you want until 11pm, which was great for us!

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Highly recommend"

Review by: ozkrisc | Source: Trip Advisor
Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights in total, 2 and 3 nights on either side of a tour. We loved this hotel. Mr Hann was exceedingly helpful and all the staff were really friendly. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel during our tour. We had very efficient airport transfers. We felt like we were staying in our own private house, it was very peaceful. The pool is a great size. We liked the location on the other side of the river. The little boat is always at the ready to transfer across, which adds to the charm of the hotel. Our room was a great size, with a large balcony overlooking the river. It has all amenities including bath robes and mosquito repellant. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order. We used the hotel bikes a couple of times which was a great way to see the town. I got up early to see the monks seeking alms and was the only tourist watching (from a respectful distance!) as they passed by the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

MesaStila: "A Perfect Getaway"

Review by: Brian W | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I live in Jakarta, and have recently begun to enjoy finding scenic getaways around Indonesia that allow us to enjoy beautiful surroundings in moderate comfort. There is absolutely nothing moderate about MesaStila. From the moment we stepped out of the car into their grounds it was a wonderful experience for the entire three days we were there. We took the Honeymoon package (although our actual honeymoon had long passed) as it encompassed pretty much all the activities we wished to do plus an airport transfer, saving us the stress of finding the location of the resort ourselves. I highly recommend booking a transfer from the resort itself . The package also included a romantic dinner for two and a traditional massage at the in-house spa. GROUNDS: Beautifully gardens and modern facilities set within colonial architecture. The best part is that it offers an unobstructed view of Gunung Merapi that is beautiful at any moment of the day. The vast 22hc of grounds allows for leisurely strolls through the coffee plantation, and even when the resort is fully booked there is a distinct sense of privacy. ROOMS: Although rustic in design, there was no sign of dust, dirt or any critters that traditionally inhabit wooden beams. There was an old charm in the room, but the modern amenities and plush bed made for a very comfortable sleep. ACTIVITIES: Pretty much the best part of the whole trip. Every day there are scheduled activities that are free to join for all guests. My wife and I enjoyed doing an hour of Yoga every morning before breakfast. Every day at 10am there is also a coffee plantation tour which was very enjoyable, especially for coffee lovers like me. In the afternoon there are usually traditional activities like Janur, Batik and Pencak Silat. There are also more rigorous activities available - the 5km powerwalk was a great way to see the surrounding villages while building a good sweat. Paid activities like horseriding and the bicycle tour are readily available and well worth the small fee. There's also the spa: the massage we had there was heavenly. FOOD: Ok, maybe THIS was the most enjoyable part of the trip. What I respect is that although the resort has a captured market (there's no other food easily available around the resort), they are sincere in providing quality food at a reasonable price. The JavaRed restaurant cooks up some of the best local cuisine I have ever tasted. Book a stay here as soon as you can. You won't regret it!"

Sea Dance Resort: "Great value, great service"

Review by: Jason L | Source: Trip Advisor
"My girlfriend and I stayed at Sea Dance for 5 nights and had a great time. The service here is nothing short of excellent. Since it's a smaller resort, they get to know you by name and quickly learn all of your preferences. We stayed on Koh Samui for 3 weeks at 5 different places (mostly 5 star) and this place had the best service hands down! We loved the restaurant and ate every meal there during our 5 night stay. The fish tacos and all of the Thai food were outstanding. I would also recommend doing the cooking class here. It is a personalized session where you can pick the dishes you learn. We will definitely be making Thai food at home after this class! Overall, I would recommend this place."

CABOCHON: "A Special Spot in Bangkok"

Review by: Asia_Flyer | Source: tripadvison.com
"I hope as my first post that a rather gushing review does not come off as unauthentic. I'd be happy for anyone to message me with questions as I really do think the Cabochon is a special place with kind and attentive staff. My wife and I arranged a 50th birthday weekend for a friend and chose the Cabochon as both our hotel and the restaurant for the birthday dinner. We had 9 rooms at the hotel, with 18 adults and 4 children joining. We first discovered the hotel a few years back when some friends living close by in Bangkok took us to dinner at the hotel restaurant, Thai Lao Yeh. Late last year (2015) we went back for dinner on our own and were so impressed we asked to tour some rooms with the intention of possibly selecting this as the venue for the 50th birthday weekend trip. Once the staff showed us a selection of rooms we were hooked. In hindsight I made many mistakes in coordinating such a large group. Rin, who had coincidentally been our waiter on our second Thai Lao Yeh dinner, wound up being our primary contact. Honestly I did not make it easy for Rin, yet he was able to handle request after request and never once let us down. In the end the weekend went perfectly, and everyone in our party commented how much they loved the hotel and restaurant. Let me give some targeted commentary that I hope others will find useful. Restaurant - See my (future) Thai Lao Yeh review. Atmosphere - Historic luxury, so you would think... You absolutely won't believe the hotel was relatively recently built from the ground up. The owner, architect, and builders have done an amazing job not only decorating the entire hotel with vintage pieces, but the actual structure itself (walls, door frames, etc) has been made to look aged. Multiple people in our party commented on this. It has to be seen to be believed. Staff - I have stayed at multiple top tier properties in Sukhumvit and wider Bangkok. The service was 5 star quality, with boutique friendliness. Rin was really a standout for us, but all staff were great. Rooms - The vintage look and feel does not result in any compromises on practicality. The bed was comfortable, as was the lounge furniture in our large balcony suite. The bathroom was spacious, well equipped, and worked as expected. Ground Floor Lounges - Do yourself a favor and have a drink in the lounge. Calling it a ""lounge"" may give the wrong impression. There are actually multiple sitting rooms. Choose your spot, sit back, relax, and soak in the vibe. Breakfast - If you're used to a large hotel's buffet your first impression might be negative, but the selection of fruits, breads, and a main never became boring over the 4 meals we enjoyed on this visit. Pool - It does not compare to the resort luxury of the SGS, but let's be honest the Cabochon just doesn't have the space or army of staff to compete in this area. The pool was practical, well maintained, and proved to be a nice place to hang out with friends and cool down. I can imagine during the hotter summer months it could be a bit too hot to spend extended hours poolside, so if this is your thing then look for another hotel. Location - This is the only area I have not given them 5 points. They are a little further away from both shopping and transportation than some of the hotels centered around Asok or Nana on the Sky Train. You will need to walk 7 minutes to get to Phrom Phong for the closest mall and concentration of shops and restaurants. That said, the peace and quiet of being setback about 200 meters from the street noise of Sukhumvit should be appealing to some. Without a doubt the Cabochon is now my go to Bangkok hotel. The cost performance is top class, the hotel restaurant is honestly one of the best restaurants (if not the best) in all of Bangkok, and the staff are extremely helpful. You can't go wrong if all of my commentary above resonates with you -- really. "

"If you wish to visit Ping Yao while in China, this hotel is THE place to stay. It is, in fact, worth the trip, all by itself. The classic beauty of the old town and a stay at Jing's Residence combines for an unforgettable experience. Aline Wilson "
