Dewakan: "Great experience!"
"Just checked their website and they seemed to have changed their menu! Seems like what I had was a mixture of their old menu and the new one. Snacks (Choy Sum Nori, Beef Tendons, Mango Curry, Yoghurt and Roselle): Choy Sum Nori was quite cool and memorable! The others were ... interesting? Could be too weird for some. Starters (Blue Mackerel, Roast Mushrooms, Grilled Vegetables, Home Made Noodles): Quite liked the roast mushrooms. Was told to eat from right to left, but perhaps plating it from left to right would be make more sense since most people hold their forks on the left and knives on the right? Just a suggestion! The noodles weren't that great, however. Mains (Pike Conger, Duck, Quail): The highlight of the night! I really loved each of the 3 main dishes, but sadly two of them don't seem to be on the new menu anymore. Probably one of the most memorable dishes I've had. Desserts (Mulberries, Gula Melaka, Chocolate Tart, Popsicles): The 3 desserts from the menu were great. At the end they gave us 3 additional popsicles even though we were absolutely stuffed by then. Really didn't like the weird popsicle flavours, but to each their own perhaps? Can't imagine it would be popular since none of us liked the popsicles. Service was great, however some were a little too soft-spoken when it came to explaining the dishes. Not sure if having descriptions left on the table would be too tacky but I would love to have something to refer to while eating."Sukoon Houseboat: "Watch the world float by"
We stayed at Sukoon for one night based on the recommendation of our host at the Cottage, Nigeen and can't thank him enough for making the arrangement for our stay at Sukoon. The hospitality is great, right from the time they pick you from the shore of Dal lake in their own boat. The houseboat is fabulous with great wooden furniture along with all modern comforts.the staff was very helpful and courteous The food was delicious , especially the Tea (kahwa) and coconut dessert with chocolate sauce . The upper deck was the perfect place to spend our mornings and evenings and the lower decks was the best place sit and shop and also eat the pakodas and tea from the nearby floating shop. The rooms were comfortable and finely built and well maintained.Sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. While leaving white threads were tied to our wrists for our safe journey. We were really touched by this gesture. We will defiantly come back and stay for a longer time.Dewakan: "Fine Dinning"
My children organized a birthday dinner for me at the Dekawan restaurant located at the KDU campus in Glenmarie. A real fine dinning with special attention to details as every course is explained before we eat. A quiet and nice place. We enjoyed our dinner and had a good family gathering.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Beautiful location, serene back to nature"
"Tents on wooden decking sounds bizarre but it works. Beautiful location. Arrival (picked up by boat from a car park) felt a bit scary but once on the river we were swept away by the beauty of this place. Food, service, location all faultless. Tips: ignore what you read about wifi - there is none, be prepared for it and then you can just enjoy the peace. We were quite happy without wifi but the kids back home were a bit scared when we suddenly went radio silent for 4 days! Trip to the falls is further than you think but well worth it. Borrow canoes for free to paddle around the resort, up and down river. Swimming in the river - looks a bit dodgy as water looks brown but trust me it beats a swimming pool any day. No air con (well they are tents after all) so it did get a bit hot at times. 4 days is enough unless you are happy with your own company as there really isn't much to do once you've taken a canoe and visited the falls. My husband fished every day and caught nothing. The evening firefly trip (also free) is lovely. They call it their Christmas lights. Stunningly beautiful."Tugu Malang: "Fantastisch"
Have fallen in love with the Tugu Malang. Received at check-in sincerely and could choose a room. The service was 1A. The facility is decorated with enormously wide variety of artifacts. The breakfast (included) was indescribably good. From more than 15 (!) Pages we could choose our wide variety of dishes. only the hotel would come back due to Malang.Tugu Bali: "Most romantic stay ever"
This hotel soothes and satisfies every sense. The breeze flowing through the mostly open air lobby (if you can call this beautiful, former Palace of Harmony a "lobby!") The air lightly scented with jasmine and other growing flowers. The very softly playing gamelon music. The ocean views and sound of waves. The partially open-air stone bathtub and shower with candles and incense. The wonderful food. Enchanting and serene. And if you want to be entertained, head to the beach, which is known for its surfing.Satri House: "Perfect base for visiting Luang Prabang"
Two friends and I have just completed a trip in Laos which included four nights in Luang Prabang, where we stayed at the Satri House. It is an amazing property which provides the perfect base for visiting LP. The grounds are gorgeous, and immaculately maintained. The rooms are spacious, with everything one could want in a 4-star-plus hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The restaurant is excellent, serving well-prepared Lao dishes along with European cuisine. The hotel is about 12 minutes by foot from the principal sights of LP and the famous Night Market. If you are planning a visit to Luang Prabang, you could not find better accommodation than the Satri House.Manda De Laos: "Beautiiful ambience; very good food"
This restaurant is outdoors surrounding a pond. The frogs supply background music. The ambience is very pleasant. It is upscale for Luang Prabang and the food is more refined (and tourist friendly) than most places. We enjoyed it very much. It is pricey for Luang Prabang, but not by U.S. standards. Friendly servicetugu bali: "Amazing accommodations"
"We absolutely LOVED Tugu hotel in Canggu. The location is perfect, the service is AMAZING and the food was delicious. The suites are breathtaking, ours came with a fruit basket of local fruit. The bathroom was half outdoors, filled with flowers and was surrounded by a Koi pond with a beautiful ladle to pour water traditionally. We also had a private pool in our back yard which was a tropical paradise. You have amazing options for seating indoors or out when dining, and the complimentary afternoon tea was diving. "tugu bali: "Best man at a wedding"
"Fantastic hotel, very well run and beautiful. Grounds were so well kept. Would highly recommend for both a short and longer stay. The food was very good. Beach goes on for miles. Hotel taxi transfers to other bars/restaurants and beaches for free. "
