Sea Dance Resort: "5* In every aspect"
"My wife and I stayed at Sea Dance for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon and we really couldn’t fault it. The service was fantastic from Kent picking us up from the airport and showing us around the site, to Faith, Helen and John who were always there to help and were on first name terms within a few hours. Poy the resort manager was also extremely helpful and extremely welcoming. We stayed in one of the beach front pool villas which was fantastic, clean and comfy. We were lucky enough to arrive on a Saturday where the hotel host a bbq, the food was unreal as well as the Wednesday happy hour (free drinks). As some of the reviews do mention the resort is isolated but there are taxis just outside and you can walk to the first strip (around 10-15 mins). Top tips get up early for complimentary yoga and also do the island tour - excellent value. Thanks everyone for making our stay so good."Samanea Beach Resort: "Beautiful hotel"
"Samanea is a beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. The grounds are immaculate and the gardens are perfectly kept. The pond is really lovely, and the swimming pool is excellent. The jetty and the boardwalk around the mangroves brings you closer to the sea and to nature. The bungalows are superb, with a separate lounge area and a nice indoor/outdoor bathroom. Not too many mosquitoes, which surprised me being close to so much natural water. Many guests are weekenders from Phnom Penh, so if you visit midweek you may even have the place to yourself. Staff very helpful. I also had no problem reducing the number of nights I'd booked when changed my travel plans. Areas for improvement: 1. Communication between managers and reception staff is poor. I needed to organise transport in several occasions, but constantly found myself having to start from the beginning each time I spoke to someone different. With the language barrier, this caused a problem more than once. 2. People have a habit of forgetting things! eg tuktuk pick-ups to take me to the bus station, forgetting to service the room one day, food items from the restaurant. 3. The restaurant could be better. Items out of stock one day after another, things missing from an order, breakfast not really explained very well (I'm still unsure what exactly is included in the room rate!), quality variable. Maybe it's because much of their business is done at weekends? 4. Wifi is very unpredictable. Similar hotels in many other countries/resorts could easily charge far more than the rates at Samanea and you wouldn't feel shortchanged, so, notwithstanding the things that could be improved on, Samanea gets 5 stars for being great value for money and having a very friendly bunch of staff always willing to help."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Exceptional"
Like all the other reviews I can only agree that Sea Dance is very special. From the moment of arrival to the sad departure 7 days later we were so well looked after. Poy,Faith and the team went out of their way to help. Never intrusive but always there if needed with recommendations and support. We left feeling we had made good friends. So, the accommodation was great, we had villa 30 and it was very private. A short walk to the excellent restaurant where the service is exceptional and the food delicious. The setting by the sea is magical and the swimming pool is beautiful. Facilities in the villa have everything covered from comfy bed to lovely toiletries.Villa Song: "Beautiful location, lovely hotel and staff."
Stayed here for a wedding. Hotel is stunning and right on the river. Can get a river taxi into District 1 included in your hotel price which takes around 15minutes. Staff very helpful and always serve with a smile. Food was amazing. There's a great bar 5 minutes walk away called Saigon Outcast.TIGER MOUNTAIN POKHARA LODGE: "A top notch mountain lodge"
"Beautifully located on a ridge overlooking the valley in front and the mountains above, Tiger Mountain is a perfect retreat for a few days rest. Independent cottages with beautiful sit outs amidst the forest, bird calls and mountain views makes this property special. The eco friendly resort with its own organic vegetable garden and freshly made jams and breads is an experience to be treasured. "Satri House: "Exquisite"
This is a warm and welcoming place that feels like a secret hideaway with attention to detail in all areas. The spotless grounds and beautiful gardens create a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was always ready to make our stay the best possible experience by helping with any and all details from transportation to making sure we had bedside water and fruit in our room every night. This is the place to stay in Luang Prabang if you get the opportunity to visit.Mie Cafe: "Fantastic fusion"
"My wife and I had dinner and we were there in the early evening so had no trouble getting a table. This restaurant serves Khmer fusion which took us by surprise in that the dishes were visually stunning and amazing to eat - flavoursome with texture things going on, just brilliant. Not to be missed."Slow Villas and Spa: "Just perfect!"
"On our 3 weeks roundtrip through Bali and Lombok my girlfriend and me have stayed 3 nights at Slow Private Pool Villas and it was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. To shorten the story: The Slow was even better than expected! Our private villa was surrounded by a huge and nicely planted garden. The pool was just awesome - perfectly clean and bigger than expected. Furniture, tapware and decoration were beautiful and definitely chosen with a huge amount of passion for the details. The staff was always friendly and helpful - no matter if we wanted to go diving, book a snorkeling trip or had some other questions: there's nothing they can't help you with in order to have the perfect time at Gili Air. The breakfast is definitely another highlight. It's getting served at your Villa at your preferred time and tastes delicious! We can't wait to come back next year! But then for longer than 3 nights. :)"The Island Lodge: "Great place for short vacations 2 hours from Saigon. We enjoyed it for a short stay"
This family owned boutique mini-resort is a well maintained, pleasant, smallish resort which is a good place for families or people who want to experience Mekong Delta or take a short vacation from Saigon. The food was very good, both the French menu and the Vietnamese menu, at the restaurant which has a lounge and bar area and is well integrated with the resort. The children enjoyed the pool, and its kid friendly in general. As a weekend resort destination, is most comparable to An Lam Saigon, and is more premium and much better food than the Ho Tram Beach Boutique Resort and Spa, and much better than the Ho Tram Sanctuary in all ways. The Hue House: "Very authentic"
"I love this place from the first visit. It has all the major Hue food, keeps its original taste, nice decor and surprisingly cheap. Try the following foods: 1. BUN BO Hue (Hue like beef - pig foot grain noodle) 2. BANH BEO TOM BAM (meaty shrimp cake) 3. BANH RAM DAU XANH (meaty gooey rice cake with natural bean) 4. CHE (sweet soup for desert, pick any from the menu) Cheers,"
