MAISON POLANKA: "Our favourite place ever!"
We have never enjoyed a place to stay - anywhere we have travelled - more than Maison Polanka. This is like staying in someone's home - or the home you might dream about having one day. With large, beautiful gardens and an elegant swimming pool, but only a handful of rooms so it's very peaceful never feels crowded even with other guests around. We also had the best Cambodian food of our trip in their restaurant, which is really just a few tables outside by the pool, but outshone anywhere else we ate. Off menu, they were kind enough to make a special noodle soup (nom banh chok) one day for us for lunch - it was delicious and worth making a special request for (in advance). We stayed in the Khmer House as a treat, and it was beautiful and spacious, though I think anyone would be happy with any of the rooms they have. But the best part of Maison Polanka are the people who work there who are warm, welcoming and willing to help with everything, from tour planning, surprise afternoon cakes by the pool, and a wonderfully memorable trip to the Road 60 night market for a dinner of insects, stuffed frogs and other more familiar foods! Our thanks in particular to Cathy, Chan, and Vong! Don't bother looking anywhere else in Siem Reap, just stay here!Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "Good experience ever!"
Supanniga cruise is the best choice for us. Best service and nice staff. Food delicious completely with nice view of Chao Phaya River. Recommended.RACHAMANKHA: "A peaceful haven"
My husband and my self visited Chiangmai in 1997 and stayed at the Rachamankha. The feeling of being transported to another world is really true. This hotel is in the midst of the city but the exquisite lay out of the interior and exterior is pretty hard to beat. We spend our winters in Chiangmai since then and visit Rachamankha every week to simply enjoy the tranquility of this wonderful hotel. The staff is very attentive and very well trained. They almost guess and jump to your needs before you can voice them. The kitchen is a very good a mix of Thai and European cuisine. Good wines. We really consider ourselves fortunate to have discovered this gem. I was impressed by the owners astute insight into the the Thai culture which he has presented in his unique style. We are fans of RachamankaTugu Malang: "One night of beautiful comfort"
This hotel was comfortable in every aspect and staying beautiful while doing it. The service was nice but the main aspect I experienced was the truly magnificent architecture and decoration this hotel have. Keep it up 👍Manda De Laos: "Impressive"
So impressed with the service, food, drinks and ambiance. It feels like you are walking into a little, romantic, paradise pond escape. Best meal in Laos by far. All food and unique drinks had beautiful presentation. Can’t wait to return!Cuca: "Fabulous restaurant"
"Great restaurant in Jimbaran Bay. Very friendly (we were walking there and got offered a lift by the owner/chef who was driving by) with appropriately attentive staff. Interesting cocktail menu - I had a Sungria which came with frozen juices for ice cubes and was lovely. Food is tapas style although dishes are served consecutively rather than all at the same time, and are interesting and beautifully presented. The suggestion is 3 per person which we had, and this was sufficient for a main meal. The pulled pork and the butterfish with beetroot yoghurt are de...lish...ous! Dessert of THE best mint ice cream with chocolate. The chef ensured he spoke to all tables making the experience even more memorable. Meal for 2 with a cocktail each, glass of wine each, 6 tapas and 2 coffees came to about £80 so not the cheapest meal in Bali, but probably one day of the best."Sea Dance Resort: "Wonderful resort"
I have booked for three nights. The biggest problem this resort has is its location. Not the best one I would say. Being located in Choeng Mon, the taxi drivers will struggle finding it as it's not on the main road and the signage is unclear. The fun in Samui is in Chaweng and if you're not renting a bike you're being ripped off by taxi drivers to get there, unless you will share a baht bus/tuk tuk... The other minus for my stay was the weather. Unfortunately, almost forgot how the sun looks like during my stay.. too much rain and clouds.. and this stopped me from spending some time at the wonderful pool this resort has. The staff is incredibly nice and the food is good though expensive.. the decoration is amazing, the garden and nature is heaven... If I were to recommend it, I'd say it's for people who look for peace and quiet, couples and families. But you should definitely research the weather, it rains a lot in Samui!! From what I heard until October it's nice and you would definitely enjoy your stay at Sea Dance.. also I had an unexpected guests in the first night, a lizzard :)Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Worth seeking out"
Glad we found this! We stumbled onto Le Du on our way to another restaurant where we had reservations. It looked so interesting we made a reservation for the following night. Choose options for each of the four courses. Each is creative and well prepared. A modern take on more tradtional thai ingrediants with a french influence. Each dish is complex and the server carefully explains what is being served and how it was prepared. They offer wine flights, go for it. Each wine was perfect with the food that it accompanied. Hard to have made better wine selections. A generous pour of all four wines (four courses) unlike many wine flights. Easy walk from skytrain staion Chong Nosi. My ONLY critisism is that for the thrid course they only have one option that does not have a surcharge. It was fantastic, but would have liked at least one more no sur charge choice.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "take me back to the 4rivers where the everything is green and the staff is pretty…awesome"
"Never would I ever have expected to find a 5* service in such a remote place. It is so remote that after you step on the boat in Tatai village, you won`t set foot on land for days. And that is mostly because the resort is 100% floating. Which makes it even more awesome. The staff there is simply amazing. The kind of service you would get in a top quality hotel in Europe. They will attend carefully to your every need. Even though you won`t need much being there. You are surrounded by a clean river and the river is surrounded by untouched jungle. Maybe one of the last virgin forests in Cambodia and the whole world. You can take a kayak and discover for yourself, or take the guided tours to the waterfall or to the mangrove forest. You can read books, swim in your own huge river kind of pool and enjoy the delicious food carefully prepared by the Filipino chef. Oh, and one more thing. Maybe the most important one. If you are into protecting the environment and having an eco holiday, this is the place for you. The management there is going over their head to keep almost everything clean. And by that I mean not polluting. The garbage bags are biodegradable, most of the buildings are made from recycled materials or using a clean technology, they strive to use mostly solar power, and even the toiletries that they provide are specially made not to disrupt the balance of the surrounding ecosystems. To sum it up, it`s a gem, one of a kind. It`s a floating heaven."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "5 star accommodation with culture and heritage"
A beautiful property, rich with history, culture and heritage. It transports you back to a different era once you walk past its gates. The tour is a must to appreciate the history of the mansion. Heaps of beautiful settings for unique photographs. Strategically located in the heart of Georgetown and walking distance to the famous Penang Street Art. A brilliant experience for my teenage boys who who up until now have only been exposed to modern holiday accommodation!
