4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "It is absolutely nice place to visit and stay!"
"That is really really nice place in term of pure natural views and fresh foods with low costs. The people there are so friendly and helpful. I went there so many times, including my honeymoon trip, whenever i want to kill work stress and stay in pure nature and enjoy local fresh foods. The chef there is also great. He can cook so many delicious foods and sweets especially ice-cream, my favorite sweet, with hygiene and fresh. Not only day time that i can go on many excursion places, but also at night time i can go to see amazing fire flies with romantic kayak for couple. whoooooh.... so many more! more than i can say! Room Tip: At the end of the south and north rooms are best rooms for honeymoon!"Muang La Lodge: "Wonderful find"
"This amazing retreat is worth the 5 hour road trip from Luang Prabang. We only stayed 2 nights. Would loved to have stayed longer. The food is wonderful. The taster menu couldn't be better. All of the staff are warm and welcoming. Couldn't have hoped for more. "Villa Song Saigon: "Fantastic boutique hotel on the river"
"We had 2 rooms and both were great. They are a little small but enough space for luggage. The room was well appointed. Mini bar and breakfast are included and if you are hungry you can have multiple breakfasts. The food was excellent. The outdoor dining area is beautiful and you don't feel like your are in the middle of the city. The staff are attentive and go out of their way to accommodate. We will definitely return. "Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A perfectly relaxing idyll with fabulous staff and great food"
We stayed here for 8 days in early January & loved it. The resort is situated on a very quiet beach with golden sands & has amazing views of the sunset every evening. The pool is large & there are plenty of (very comfortable) loungers & the grounds are pretty and well maintained. There are 2 restaurants which offer different & delicious menus each day. The rooms are large, comfortable & immaculate & I really liked the half open bathroom. I had one spa treatment which was reasonably priced & very relaxing - I also appreciated the free ayurvedic consultation beforehand. We also took an evening cruise along the back waters on a houseboat organised by the hotel - we were the only people on a quite large boat so that was lovely. What really makes the resort stand out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they were lovely all the way through but particularly on my husband's 50th birthday when they decorated his breakfast table with flowers, presented him with a bouquet, presented him with a personalised birthday cake (& the whole team turned out to sing happy birthday) & wrote happy birthday in flowers on the bed - all of this for free & without my requesting it. It made the day & the holiday so very special - we were really touched & very appreciative.Labyrinth: "Impeccable service and delicious roast pork!"
The great service started even before the dinner when they called to check if we were going for a theatre program (we were). We enjoyed the roast pork and risotto and the chili crab dish was excellent as usual. Desserts were a little too sweet for our taste (maybe it’s just us). But the sweetness was balanced by the tea offered by the wait staff who was considerate enough to notice that we still had time before our theatre program.Villa Song Saigon: "beautiful riverside hotel"
We stayed 3 nights in March. Everything about the hotel was lovely- room, staff, pool and food. District 2 is quiet with good local restaurants and bars and taxis from the airport and city centre cheap. The hotel also provides a boat shuttle to the city which was great fun. Rooms on the upper floors will be quieter.Tugu Malang: "Such a wonderful place"
"During a round trip in Java we passed Malang and had arranged to stay at Hotel Tugu based on a recommendation from our Indonesian travel agent - and we were not disappointed!! Upon arrival we were greeted by the smiling and very friendly staff in the reception. We immediately felt welcome and 'at home'. At the same time we received a voucher for 15 minutes of (free) massage and an invitation for afternoon tea. The rooms are not large but large enough, with a nice bed and beautiful decorations ... especially the bathroom with the hand-hammered stainless steel bathtub impressed me. Even before we started unpacking we were seated in the museum-like lobby and had both Java tea and Java coffee served alongside the wonderful selection of small cakes ... in light of the easy access to coconut, the only thing I missed was the Danish 'kokos-toppe' (coconut tops) :-) Later we had dinner in the restaurant and after recommendation from the staff we had some excellent meals. In the morning we experienced the same eagerness to help and we ended up trying a number of both local and Indonesian breakfast dishes. A final observation ... all hotel managers - listen and learn ... when we checked out we got a small farewell present; - a package of the coffee used for the Java coffee, - we got a big smile and - a 'think of us when you have your next coffee'. This is so good thinking compared to other hotels which e.g. gives a Danish family 20% discount on airport transfer and a free membership of the Family Club if we come back to Indonesia with the family before Christmas. If I'm ever back in Malang I would not dream of staying anywhere else. Thank you"Sandat Glamping Tents: "Perfect"
Secluded oasis with beautifully designed tents. Excellent food and service as well. Location is gorgeous, just some minutes away from Ubud's center, near beautiful rice fields and jungle. The owner and all service staff were extremely polite. Hopefully I'll be back soon!Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Brilliant way to see Mekong River"
We only had a limited time in Vietnam so decided that a trip on the Basic 111 would be a good idea, and we were not disappointed. The cabin was small but had a very comfortable bed. There was airl con, small bathroom with shower and toilet. There are lots of photos taken by other tourists. Our english speaking guide was Annie. Wonderful lady who was on hand to offer advice and explain about all we saw. Only three cabins were occupied, us, one Belgian couple and an Irish couple, which made for very pleasant company. we had a superb lunch followed by dinner in the evening. We couldn't finish the supper as we are used to only having one large meal a day. Up at dawn the next day, just in time to catch the sunrise over the river. Worth getting up that early. Breakfast had warm freshly baked bread along with eggs marmalade etc.We also had a visit to Annie's home village where she explained about life there. Later on we visited a floating market, again worth seeing as our guide explained that with improved roads and bridges it most probably won't exist in 4 or 5 years. The trip on the Bassac came to an end with a visit to a market on land. I wish I had taken pictures in the first bit, a covered fish market but I was too busy trying not to step on people or fish! Recommended.Tugu Lombok: "Sublime wedding"
Hotel Tugu in Lombok is absolute paradise. We had the most sublime wedding here in August 2016. The architecture and grounds are jaw droppingly beautiful and the staff are incredibly attentive. Hanny, Evi and their team did a fabulous job decorating the venue, beyond our expectations, and were on hand to attend to our every need. We got married on the beach with the ocean as our backdrop, followed by drinks and canapes in the garden and dinner on the beach. The decorations and flowers for the ceremony were simply stunning and the table centre pieces were perfect. Every detail was thought of and taken care of. The food was fantastic and we had one of the best cheese cakes I've ever tasted for our wedding cake. Our honeymoon suite was like a small apartment, with a huge bathroom and a super jumbo king size bed....that's a technical term!! The architecture, Indonesian artefacts and decor at this hotel provide endless photo opportunities, not to mention the stunning beach. If you're thinking of having your wedding here, just do it! Our guests were blown away as we were and still talk about how amazing it was.
