Tugu Bali: "Boutique hotel with fine food"
"We dined at the Hotel Tugu twice within one week while we were staying at a nearby villa with friends. The first meal was lunch on Valentines Day which also coincided with our friend's anniversary. The hotel is stunning, with many historic artifacts scattered throughout the public areas of the hotel. Cocktails in the bar before lunch were delicious, I particularly enjoyed the Tugu Gin Tea! We were seated in a private dining room for four (just off the main seating area) overlooking the pool and gardens. We all enjoyed a delicious lunch of Indonesian and other Asian dishes which were fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Desserts were also spectacular, in particular Black sticky rice pudding with Mango. A complimentary dessert was presented to our friends to celebrate their anniversary, a lovely touch. We were all so impressed we rebooked for dinner later in the week! Before dinner we had cocktails again but this time on the rooftop of of the hotel while overlooking the beach and a spectacular sunset and then again dined in the small private dining room. We preordered Babi Guling, the Indonesian roast pork specialty which was plated beautifully and was absolutely mouth watering. We indulged in an Italian Pino Griggo which was good value for money and a terrific wine. Special mention must be made of the incredible staff at Hotel Tugu, friendly, knowledgeable - just delightful really! We also requested to inspect the rooms at the hotel and were shown two different types of rooms, both very Balinese and very well appointed. We would love to return to the Hotel Tugu to experience staying at this boutique hotel and also to feast upon the fine food available there. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Bali: "Excellent service and homely feel"
"Absolutely fantastic service. I have never experienced more genuine and attentive service from our arrival to departure. Simply flawless. Love the maze like garden with canals and fishes. Rooms are good a bit run down, but all is made up by the fantastic staff! Well worth a visit!! World class service in a stunning surrounding. "Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "A really classy first-rate camping safari"
"We stayed in the only air conditioned tent and with it's ensuite bathroom and running water was the ultimate luxury. The things that made this safari were the staff (wonderfully expert and hospitable), the excellent Sri Lankan food and - oh yes - the wildlife spotting! Just be aware that unlike African safaris we have been on, this camp is in a lovely spot but outside the reserve as camps are not allowed inside."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion Logo Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Old Charm and stunning Mansion"
"Stayed there 3 nights at the Shantung room on Oct 1st. Was my second time staying there and seems quite an improvement compared to the 1st probably it was from a different management back then. Happy with the service upon checking in. Shiro at the desk was friendly. Glad that we had a early check-in and no hassle of waiting for our room to be ready. All the staff are polite from housekeeping lady to the wait staff for our breakfast, the lady at the bar & the security guard at the main door. I am amazed with the selection of ala carte breakfast menu and buffet spread with the price for the the room. Wish we had time to dine and experience Indigo in the future. "Mie Cafe: "A hidden gem"
Gorgeous garden setting and fabulous food. Fresh, tasty ingredients with excellent presentation. Recommended by a local ex-monk and it didn’t disappoint.Mie Cafe: "Fancy, delicious and still good value for money"
"I had the gourmet menu and was very satisfied with my choice. It was fun to try oxtail and the first starter with shrimp and avocado was amazing. The chocolate fondant for desert was perfect. Would recommend this place to anyone. Even if you're on a tight budget, it's worth a visit and 24 dollars well spent. Staff was very friendly and attentive too. Food was served quickly. We took a tuktuk here from the night market for USD3 and decided to walk back (halv an hour)."Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Amazingly beautiful place"
Stayed in Rakkojae and found it a very serene and beautiful place.. breakfast was perfect (the traditional breakfast is esp good)... room was clean and spacious though there were a lack of hooks to hang our clothes.. the only problem is walls are paper thin (typical of a traditional lodging) so we could hear almost every single sound that's transpired in this place.. apart from that, service and room were impeccable. :)Tugu Lombok: "Simply the best three nights of our life"
Without a doubt, the Hotel Tugu in Lombok was the best hotel experience we have ever had, second to none (and I've travelled a lot). The most exceptional grounds, most amazing rooms, outstanding service, beautiful beach, highly attentive staff, and second-to-none food. I would strongly, strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an out-of-this-world travel experience. Special thanks to Evi for her special help for this trip, and to Hotel Manager Henri for his care. Actually, every staff member was exceptional and worthy of special mention if only I could remember all of their names.Maduzi Hotel: "Truly a gem"
"Stayed at Maduzi for 5d4n. It was a Breeze to locate from Asok BTS. Take the airport express and stop at the station that links to Sukhumvit station. Since Sukhumvit and Asok are interchange stations, u just need to walk towards Asok and orientate from there. It's a 5 mins walk. Bear in mind that the entrance is along Ratchadaprisek Rd, main rd right at the start of Soi 16. If u look from Asok station, locate Clover hotel and walk in that direction. The minute we entered, we were greeted by a very sexy lobby, like an A&F boutique. Check in was a Breeze and we were brought to our room. The lift was equally sexy but some may find it too dark cos of the mood lighting. Our room was on Level A, with M being the topmost. The floors are numbered M A D U Z I and lobby. As we entered our room, we were greeted by a pantry with our own coffee machine and a free minibar (light snacks, drinks). The FREE minibar is topped up daily and I loved it. Coconut juice to end each day was godsend. The pantry door slides open to reveal a HUMONGOUS room. I could roll over 3.5 times and still be on the bed. It is HUGE and comfy. I find the pillows too soft for my liking but with 5 pillows on the bed, it's heaven. There's a work table beside the bed, separated by a partition wall so if u need to get work done, you won't bother those who are trying to get some rest. The Bose sound system is amazing! With auxiliary cables provided, u can plug in ur iPod or phones to play your own music. Hidden at the back is the toilet, dressing area, wardrobe and safe, and bath. I love the spacious dressing area. Long counter so u don't have to wrestle for space. Good supply of personal amenities such as toothbrush kit, comb, hair dryer etc. During shower time, you can opt for a stand up shower or the IN ROOM JACUZZI! Since the hotel does not have a pool, the jacuzzi is the best place to soak and relax after a tiring day out. Panpuri toiletries are provided which smells sooooooo good. We also bought bath bombs from the stalls in chatuchak market for added pampering. Breakfast every morning is served at the restaurant at the lobby floor. U are given a choice of 5-6 items, all of which are enough to fuel us for the morning. We also tried room service which was equally delicious and affordable. For those who do not wanna spend about $10-$12 for pad Thai, can just walk across to the 7-11 to grab stuff to eat. Overall, the hotel is conveniently located. Just 5-7mins walk to Terminal 21 and 15mins walk to Healthland Asoke Massage centre. But this hotel is a gem of a find. I will definitely return to stay here again and will recommend it to those who are coming to Bangkok!"The Tiger’s Eye: "Superbe Dining in The Penh"
Truly a superb dining experience in a lovely, modern setting. This is probably one of the best in Phnom Penh, but the price is very reasonable considering the quality you're getting! Everything is amazing, from the cocktails, salads, main courses and desert. They have many vegetarian options and a great selection of wine, and they make their own bread, which is amazing, don't forget to get the bread!! Truly a lovely restaurant, either for a casual lunch with friends or a romantic dinner... They also make a great brunch. Highly recommended!
