"It's definitely a trek to get there but the reward far outweighs the hassle! Finally in Malaysia a restaurant brave enough to march to its own tune. Dewakan embodies everything that Malaysians have always known about with regards to flavours and ingredients but has never been able to harness. Here the true beauty of Malaysian food at its highest standard is served with pride. I can rave about each individual dish but I will let the photos speak in my stead. Speaking to Chef Darren Teoh, the passion and dedication to produce the best is clearly evident. Dewakan is clearly in uncharted waters but its upward trajectory is plainly evident. "A couple of days on Sukoon prepared us for an extraordinary trip through Kashmir, Zanskar and Ladakh. Fine, not too spicy high cuisine, served on the roof... Ideal place to get a rest after the heat of Srinagar and surrounding visits. Very helpful, friendly crew, treating the guests like royalties. For us, travellers with the group of Explore the Himalaya, this place meant the changeover from a stressed mind to a first feeling of piece of mind. If I had been into yoga, I would have found a terrific spot in the early mornings... Instead, I enjoyed the coffee(s) on the covered roof terrace with some members of the group to chill out to let all impressions of the day sink (and be checked on my camera). If there is one thing I regretted, it's the fact you cannot swim in the lake as it is not safe for us and somewhat polluted(although that is being worked at I read). To conclude, this is the best spot to stay over while visiting this area, wether by boat, taxi or hiking! Enjoy! "Glenburn Tea Estate: "Magical Location and Five star service"
The magical location of this resort poised on a hill with direct views of Darjeeling town and Kachenjunga from my bedroom window is quite unforgettable. Lush gardens communal dinners and a sense of a bygone time reminiscent of the british rag. Day trips to Darjeeling and Kalipong and the river camp. "This is the second time we visit this property within February 2016. First time was on Feb 7th, and the second time was on Feb 28th. We were travelling to Jogja but I missed this place so much, we decided to drive to Magelang to have an afternoon coffee here. I can't even decide where to begin to share with you how marvelous this place is. The property itself is a magnificent mixture between old time Javanese architecture of Joglo Houses, which are very beautiful, and some wooden buildings from Dutch Colonial era. The Coffee and several other traditional drinks here are just the perfect company to enjoy the weather and magnificent view of mt. Merapi. You can also pamper your eyes with the lush greeneries view everywhere you look. Last but not least, the staff here are just lovely. First class hospitality. Best place to stay in Chiangmai as its central to everywhere. The hotel is a 5-star oasis to escape from the city yet it is located in the city. The staff are friendly and professional making our stay extremely seamless. The room is exquisite with old Thai charm yet furnished with modern day necessities. "This is a gem of a hotel. An oasis in an oasis. Visually pleasing from the very first sighting. The hotel is just 10 minutes away from the small airport (no noise issue - there are only two flights a day at this airport!) and though one drives through some uninspiring immediate surroundings, once you enter the hotel, it is pleasing to all the senses. The garden and all the individual fittings reflect the detailed care and attention of the brother/sister/brother-in-law team. The food, which leans heavily towards Mediterranean is a match for any restaurant in Bangkok, the drinks are good value at 1/2 to 1/3 of equivalent Bangkok hotel price and the live music with alternating crooners are absolutely superb. Good pool and excellent care and attention by the entire staff. Easy lift in the hotel's Tuk tuk to the town's delights. Perfect."The Island Lodge: "Fabulous"

"A beautiful little hotel about 40 minutes out of Kuching centre. The room was great, the 4 post bed was comfy( and squeaky!) The air con was a great relief. The bathroom was clean and the linen was fluffy. The staff were very attentive and friendly. On site they have a kitchen you can order reasonably priced food and there is a bar that is also well priced. I really enjoyed the food but I didn't trying any western dishes other than a sandwich. When we left for our red-eye flight the staff gave us sandwiches for the trip. There are some deck chairs around the pool that are shaded and the pool is clean, warm and adds to the overall relaxing vibe. There's beautiful gardens too. The ponds and fountains also added to the relaxing nature. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to unwind and relax. They also run trips from the hotel to all the major touristy bits and they can book taxis and airport transfers."The Cabochon Hotel: "An oasis in the middle of chaotic Bangkok"
The Cabochon was heaven. The hotel is wonderfully decorated with antique items and gorgeous little nooks and crannies that make you want to photograph everything. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, catering to anything we needed. The breakfast was scrumptious - great way to start your day touring around Bangkok. The restaurant served the best food we had during our entire stay in Thailand.
