Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Consistent fine quality"
Over the last few years we have dined several times at Le Du. This time we took some friends there and again the fusion food was tasty with Thai flavors, imaginative and beautifully presented by friendly staff. We accompanied the dishes by a decently prized crispy New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. For me this restaurant is star quality even though the recently published Michelin guide of Bangkok restaurants did not give them this rating.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "a Charming and nostalgic elegant retreat in Penang"
"This is my 3rd stay at Cheong Fatt Tze in 10 years Not only the building is beautifully restored and maintained, but a lot of efforts have been put to improve comfort in the rooms (new refurbished) and facilities (new garden and pool , new bar...) The Manager Daniel has done a great job with him team for attention to service and friendliness Impressive improvements. congratulations to all... We will be back!"Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Luxury camping and safari experience"
"Staying at NRLS camp is a complete experience. The luxury tented accommodation includes a comfortable king size bed ( air conditioning available in some), with separate bathroom ( hot shower, basin & toilet)- it is well appointed & clean. The tents are private and set amongst the trees (we were visited by several monkeys- which were not annoying). Full board included all meals, snacks & drinks, which were served in a family/dinner party type arrangement- allowing us to have wonderful chats and conversations with other travellers. Food was mainly authentic Sri Lankan- beautifully presented & excellent quality. Staff were courteous & friendly. Of course, the highlight was the safaris ( two per day). Our guide was outstanding - knowledgeable about Yala National Park and the Sri Lankan wildlife, responsive to our questions, flexible with our requests and he offered helpful photographic tips too. The jeeps are clean & well equipped ( but as with 4 wheel drives expect to go over some bumpy roads & through water). During our 4 safaris, we were lucky to spot 2 leopards- one was a special sighting ( close up for about 15 minutes without any other jeeps present), several elephants and many birds. Unfortunately - no sloth bears sighted, but naturally there are no guarantees for wildlife encounters. Overall this was a fun experience & I would highly recommend it."Rakkojae Seoul: "Really quite perfect"
There is really nothing to fault with Rakkojae. The rooms and their surrounds are quite beautiful - a pocket of timeless serenity in this busy city. The service is perfectly judged - always helpful, never intrusive. Both the Korean and Western breakfasts were good and substantial. We found it wonderfully quiet but, given thin walls/doors, this does require guests to be deeply respectful of others. This is not a place for loud voices or, fortunately, young children. Some reviewers and travel sites recommend one night in an hanok - this does not do the experience justice or allow you to even come near appreciating the essence of the place. We stayed 4 nights which felt about right, Even so, moving on to our next accommodation - a top-end Western-style conference hotel - was remarkably jarring.Manukan Island Resort: "Staff are there main asset"
"We visited here for a 4 night short holiday at the end of our main holiday in Malaysia. We were very impressed with all the staff at the resort. They excel in customer service and really do go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. We made some comments about the breakfast ( not covered / few flies buzzing around) - it was addressed straightway, professionally. The chalet we had was very nice and enjoyed having our little beach to come and go as we please. Everywhere is very clean. The island it self doesn't have a huge choice of things to do, other than snorkel, and is definitely bring a book place. The island is busy during the day with day trippers but it's great at night when you get it you self - you get to wander about, sat on the jetty watching the fish. There a few good food choices - the main restaurant is good - slightly more expressive than mainland but then food is imported. You might get tired of the menu after a few days - a refresh or daily specials would be good. It's doesn't offer a huge number of options for families but if you just want somewhere to relax and watch the world go by with excellent services I would recommend."Bassac Cruises: "Very interesting morning"
First of all we took a small boat to the floating market with a lovely breakfast supplied on board. The boat lady was in exceptionally nice and we got some great photos that she pointed out to us. After the markets she dropped us off on the bank and we were met by a local guide and three bicycles. We then spent the next 2 hours gently cycling on small paths through villages in the forest between the small rivers. Very interesting guide who spoke excellent English. Delicious fruit and tea stop on route. Highly recommend both trips.Tandjung Sari: "A Lovely Place to Stay"
"The Tandjung Sari at first glance may appear to have been eclipsed by other flashier new hotels along the Sanur Beach. However it is all the things this hotel doesn't tell you on its web page which make it so special. The fantastic collection of Indonesian antiques that adorn this pretty hotel, the attentive staff, the amazing food from the kitchen and the sheer peace and calm would be hard to find anywhere else. The bar is manned by a pair of enthusiastic, fun loving mixologists who are constantly devising new drinks for the guests full of natural fruits (none of your nasty sugar based cordials). The breakfast choices were the finest we had ever had staying anywhere and so generous that you don't want to eat midday. Add to this the gentle patronage of the arts by the hotel's benevolent and kindly managers, which allows local children to practice their traditional dances within one of the bales and to perform for guests and you have a perfect, well priced vacation. This is a vision of old Bali. We will definitely be back. "Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Incredible Experience, not to be missed"
I loved my time visiting the Inle Heritage House during my stay in Inle Lake. Passionate and talented people doing fantastic work. I enjoyed the cat sanctuary, the architecture and design of the space, the garden and sustainability efforts, and the opportunities for cooking classes... all of this while supporting the local community and hospitality education program. I would recommend a visit to anyone who will be traveling to Myanmar. Please support and enjoy this fantastic organization. The Village House: "Fantastic place to unwind"
"A beautiful little hotel about 40 minutes out of Kuching centre. The room was great, the 4 post bed was comfy( and squeaky!) The air con was a great relief. The bathroom was clean and the linen was fluffy. The staff were very attentive and friendly. On site they have a kitchen you can order reasonably priced food and there is a bar that is also well priced. I really enjoyed the food but I didn't trying any western dishes other than a sandwich. When we left for our red-eye flight the staff gave us sandwiches for the trip. There are some deck chairs around the pool that are shaded and the pool is clean, warm and adds to the overall relaxing vibe. There's beautiful gardens too. The ponds and fountains also added to the relaxing nature. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to unwind and relax. They also run trips from the hotel to all the major touristy bits and they can book taxis and airport transfers."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris – Highly recommended!"
Excellent food enjoyed under the stars, excellent host - Sam, who is very knowledgeable and a good driver with sharp eyes that caught sight of the different animals and bird before us. We Enjoyed our stay with Noel Rodrigo’s Leaopard Safaris thoroughly.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
