Satri House: "A jewel"

Lovely colonial property with modern facilities. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Interesting rooms and common areas with beautiful antiques. Nice pool and garden, which makes this a perfect oasis to relax. Excellent food, too.

CABOCHON: "A Special Spot in Bangkok"

Review by: Asia_Flyer | Source: tripadvison.com
"I hope as my first post that a rather gushing review does not come off as unauthentic. I'd be happy for anyone to message me with questions as I really do think the Cabochon is a special place with kind and attentive staff. My wife and I arranged a 50th birthday weekend for a friend and chose the Cabochon as both our hotel and the restaurant for the birthday dinner. We had 9 rooms at the hotel, with 18 adults and 4 children joining. We first discovered the hotel a few years back when some friends living close by in Bangkok took us to dinner at the hotel restaurant, Thai Lao Yeh. Late last year (2015) we went back for dinner on our own and were so impressed we asked to tour some rooms with the intention of possibly selecting this as the venue for the 50th birthday weekend trip. Once the staff showed us a selection of rooms we were hooked. In hindsight I made many mistakes in coordinating such a large group. Rin, who had coincidentally been our waiter on our second Thai Lao Yeh dinner, wound up being our primary contact. Honestly I did not make it easy for Rin, yet he was able to handle request after request and never once let us down. In the end the weekend went perfectly, and everyone in our party commented how much they loved the hotel and restaurant. Let me give some targeted commentary that I hope others will find useful. Restaurant - See my (future) Thai Lao Yeh review. Atmosphere - Historic luxury, so you would think... You absolutely won't believe the hotel was relatively recently built from the ground up. The owner, architect, and builders have done an amazing job not only decorating the entire hotel with vintage pieces, but the actual structure itself (walls, door frames, etc) has been made to look aged. Multiple people in our party commented on this. It has to be seen to be believed. Staff - I have stayed at multiple top tier properties in Sukhumvit and wider Bangkok. The service was 5 star quality, with boutique friendliness. Rin was really a standout for us, but all staff were great. Rooms - The vintage look and feel does not result in any compromises on practicality. The bed was comfortable, as was the lounge furniture in our large balcony suite. The bathroom was spacious, well equipped, and worked as expected. Ground Floor Lounges - Do yourself a favor and have a drink in the lounge. Calling it a ""lounge"" may give the wrong impression. There are actually multiple sitting rooms. Choose your spot, sit back, relax, and soak in the vibe. Breakfast - If you're used to a large hotel's buffet your first impression might be negative, but the selection of fruits, breads, and a main never became boring over the 4 meals we enjoyed on this visit. Pool - It does not compare to the resort luxury of the SGS, but let's be honest the Cabochon just doesn't have the space or army of staff to compete in this area. The pool was practical, well maintained, and proved to be a nice place to hang out with friends and cool down. I can imagine during the hotter summer months it could be a bit too hot to spend extended hours poolside, so if this is your thing then look for another hotel. Location - This is the only area I have not given them 5 points. They are a little further away from both shopping and transportation than some of the hotels centered around Asok or Nana on the Sky Train. You will need to walk 7 minutes to get to Phrom Phong for the closest mall and concentration of shops and restaurants. That said, the peace and quiet of being setback about 200 meters from the street noise of Sukhumvit should be appealing to some. Without a doubt the Cabochon is now my go to Bangkok hotel. The cost performance is top class, the hotel restaurant is honestly one of the best restaurants (if not the best) in all of Bangkok, and the staff are extremely helpful. You can't go wrong if all of my commentary above resonates with you -- really. "

Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "Amazing scenery and gorgeous dinner"

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Stunning and calm 3 days at 4 Rivers"

Review by: ofiucus | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We loved the lodge, from the moment we arrived the warm welcome and the stunning location were as much as we could have hoped for. From kayaking in the mangroves to swimming in the waterfalls and in the river just outside your tent - this place is anything but dull - check out their activity programme. We are vegan & vegetarian and the staff accommodated us completely - with a varied and changing menu with multiple options every day. Highly recommended - and having read the very few negative reviews I can only think of them as truly bizarre. This is heaven on Earth."

Tugu Lombok: "A Paradise on Heart"

Review by: Marina A | Source: Trip Advisor
"We've seen quite a few big and luxurious resorts, but we are sure that our stay at Tugu Lombok will remain in our minds like one of the most amazing. We stayed 2 nights in this slice of heaven and everything was absolutely perfect! The private beach is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches we’ve ever seen. The hotel not only offers kayaks and a Stand Up board free of charge but also all the Snorkel equipment providing us an absolutely mesmerizing experience exploring the sea. Our Villa, 106, was the second closest Villa to the main swimming pool. Only a green lawn separates the beach from the back garden where we had our own private swimming pool. The room was so big it feels like staying in a castle and had one of the biggest beds we have ever slept, where we were woken up every morning with a perfect sunrise. The bathroom is integrated in the garden where there was a big fishpond with Shower and bathtub outside surrounded by nature. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming serving us with a real smile and warmth. The food was exceptionally good. The breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious and best of all, we got to enjoy it anywhere we wanted. The hotel complex is huge and it is lovely to wander around. Everywhere we found pieces of Indonesian culture and art. Every time we went around we discovered a new lovely spot. We fell in love by this hotel! Absolutely everything was stunning. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family."

Inle Princess Resort: "Fantastic experience on the lake"

Review by: Patricia N | Source: Trip Advisor
Unlike other hotels on the lake, as your motor boat nears the resort, the motor is stopped and a local rows the boat in using his right thigh! That was definitely a unique experience for us but it also contributed to our resort being quiet and restful. We were greeted warmly and escorted to our private chalet, which had a beautiful living area, a veranda overlooking the lake, a large bathroom with bath tub and an outdoor shower. We definitely felt pampered during our one night at this wonderful resort. The dinner and our buffet breakfast the next morning did not disappoint. Truly a great experience for us

Locavore: "Fine food for all your senses"

Review by: panamtravelkid | Source: Trip Advisor
Each dish was a delight to the senses, worthy of a photo and a moment of serious admiration before trying each dish. The amuse bouche and smaller courses were given as much detail and attention as the mains. Many surprises and ingenious ways to use fresh ingredients - a rare treat!

Villa Song Saigon: "The most decadent hotel in a peaceful location"

Review by: Versusthevoid | Source: Trip Advisor
From the moment we got out of the taxi upon arrival to getting in a taxi to leave, the staff were all tremendously helpful, polite and cheerful. They really made everything seem as if it were no trouble at all. Our room was decadent, comfortable and a joy to stay in. To top it off, all of the added perks just made this the most wonderful hotel to spend our short time in Ho Chi Minh in: the Apple TV, the complimentary minibar and the boat shuttle to the centre.

Villa Song Saigon: "More luxurious after renovation"

Review by: waget | Source: Trip Advisor
It's been awhile since I stayed at Villa Song Saigon. I was surprised to see that the place has become even better after the recent renovation. The restaurant looks better and the new menu is even more gastronomic than the previous menu. It is really worth checking it out again. The staff continue to be accommodating and nice as always.
