Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "A gem of a hotel"
Beautiful quiet resort not far from the liveliness of Chaweng. A very personal service from the best staff ever, who used our first names. Great breakfast & fabulous food, especially the set menu on Weds.Rachamankha: "Attentive service, beautiful scenery, great restaurant"
"We were thrilled with our stay at Rachamankha. My wife and I were here for our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful venue for such an occasion. Somewhat hard to find among the back roads inside the old town in Chiang Mai (the tuk tuk's will know where to go), it provides a great escape from the bustle of the town. The grounds are immaculately manicured. There is a great little seating area to lounge and relax. The pool is large and well maintained. Our room was very quiet, had a great large bed. The AC worked well enough in the room. The thing is don't miss the restaurant. We ate at several restaurants around town, but kept coming back to the hotel restaurant for the green curry, stir fried noodles, and several other dishes. Staying at the hotel, breakfast was fantastic every day. Our only issue was that the Internet connection was not super reliable."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A luxurious end to our two weeks travelling in south India"
We spent just two nights here to wind down after a very hectic two weeks. The staff are really lovely and the food great. One restaurant specialises in sea food but as we're vegetarians we ate only in the other one. I swam twice a day very early morning and at 6 30 pm when the pool and loungers were empty. We didn't want to use the pool or sunbathing area during the day - too hot and too busy. Breakfast taken in the open air facing the sea was great - we chose Indian food both times. The restaurant food both evenings was good but not spicy enough - even tho' we asked for fairly spicy. All the other guests were Westerners - apparently Indian families tend to stay later in the month after the school exam season is over. We borrowed the fairly rickety old bikes to cycle along the quiet village roads nearby and there's an extensive reading library to borrow books from. There's a resident tailor if you want to get any clothes made.To summarise - it's not real India and the wi-fi wasn't perfect but still worth five stars!Locavore: "Awesome set menu"
Very fine place to lunch or dinner. Reservation by phone quite hard, but female staff more helpful when you come to booking. However, the set menu is amazing. You will happy to spend two hours meal. 😆😙👍Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Best of both worlds!"
This hotel gives a beautiful break from the fast-pace of most areas in India. This place is simply heavenly. The food is very healthy and prepared perfectly. Try the beetroot with coconut soup and the paratha soup. This hotel also offers the opportunity to sail on The Lotus for a few nights and watch the reflection of the sun and moon dance on the water.Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Lovely service, imaginative food, and great attention to detail"
"I read an article about Le Du and was intrigued by its promise of elevating Thai style food. I have been in Thailand for several weeks and have enjoyed the food but not been blown away by anything that I have not tried before until tonight. We elected the 6 course tasting menu. This is really a bit more than expected because there is an amuse bouche and a fruit plate that is not listed. Server was Erica who was warm, attentive and knowledgeable. The dishes range from sea bass, river prawn, aged beef, pork jowls and a sustainable fish. Each was presented with a lovely Thai inspired sauce and accompaniment. While all the dishes were terrific in their own way, our favorites were the pork jowls an the sea bass. The lovely staff recognized my husband's celebration of his birthday with an extra dessert. So what would I say could be improved: the beef dish was the weakest in that while flavorful, it was a bit chewy. I did not observe the concerns voiced by other reviewers as a high noise level, or feeling of being rushed. We were dressed in a neat manner and felt welcome. We thought the bill was reasonable for this type of meal. Yes, there is a service charge but the charge is 10% which in our opinion is low for the amount of service and 50% of the expected tip in the US. I did find the reservation system challenging. I made a reservation for one evening, and then realized we would be open earlier in the week and tried to change the reservation. I sent an email, and initially, did not get a response. The hotel clerk called for me and changed the reservation, But I received no confirmation of change. This is partly my fault because the hotel gave the name on my passport which is slightly different ( nickname versus formal first name) that they did not recognize as the same person. We called again, confirmed and a few hours later I received a change of reservation with right day, wrong time. 2 more calls and 3 emails later, it was cleared and confirmed. So lesson learned; choose the time you want on the first try. Also, the location is a little tricky. It is in a a Soi or a little alley. So leave a little time to find it."Villa Song Saigon: "Charming Hotel"
"We spent 3 x nights in Villa Song last week and were fortunate enough to be upgraded for the last two. The new bedroom was absolutely stunning at the top of the building with an enormous bed and a beautiful view over the river. The staff were delightful and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Villa Song is situated in a stunning setting right on the river in popular District 2 - and very quiet. It is the most perfect hotel to relax in after touring round Vietnam. There is a fantastic complimentary speed boat service that goes to and from the city hourly. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel - it is the most ideal place to stay in Saigon Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"MesaStila: "An amazing holiday"
"We live in Jakarta and were in desperate need of nature. We travel a lot, both for work and leisure and are quite picky with accommodation. For our holidays, we like to stay away from soulless big chains without having to compromise on comfort and quality. Mesa Stila did not disappoint: from start to finish, everything was perfect. The hotel itself and the grounds are magical, and the mountain views from the rooms are spectacular. Even the hotel's website doesn't do justice. Thanks to the activities, we never got bored during our 3 day stay and never got out of the hotel. We made full use of the facilities on site (spa, pool, restaurant, kid indoor playground) and of the complementary activities (yoga, jungle gym, coffee tour plantation). Considering the remote location of the hotel, we were very impressed by the level of professionalism and skill of the staff (I practice yoga twice a week, and my husband is very athletic and both instructors were really good). Unfortunately we didn't have time to try horseriding but the horses looked very well cared for and the man in charge told us he was an ex-jockey. Our visit happened during rainy season and although it rained most afternoons, we always found something to do (hanging out with our friends in the main house enjoying the complementary afternoon tea, taking turns going to the spa...). We found the hotel very kid friendly (traveling with 3 kids: 3, 1, and 6 months): indoor playroom, shallow kid pool, accommodating restaurant and good kids menu... A few packing tips: clothes for slightly cooler weather (the hotel is located 700m above sea level and it can get chilly in the evenings during rainny season), plastic flip flops in case you are visiting during rainy season"The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Tell all my friends"
Tell all my friends - that's how i feel after 3 nights at this hygge hotel in a hipsterish area of Bangkok. The hotel is unique and delightful in every way (those seeking sterile glass and brass should look to chain hotels). Service is welcoming, helpful and gentle. My family of four (children 4 and 10) felt really comfortable and the other guests were a diverse mix of well mannered and cosmopolitan fellow travellers - we will definitely be back and will be telling our friends this is the place to stay in Bangkok!Villa Song Saigon: "No. 1 Hotel … deservedly so"
We stayed at the Villa Song Hotel for our first night in Vietnam and for our last 3 nights and we have nothing but good things to say. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the food is excellent (including the breakfast which is served all day), the hotel is in a perfect position by the river - so quiet and peaceful after visiting HCM. and the free boat shuttle service is a wonderful way to visit the city. The hotel deserves all the good reviews it receives and hopefully will be no.1 for many more years.
