VILLA SONG SAIGON: "A peaceful Oasis"

Review by: daga65 | Source: tripadvison.com
"This beautiful hotel is set out of the bustling city of Saigon, located on the riverside. It is about a 20 minutes boat trip into district one of HCMC (provided free of charge by the hotel at selected times during e day). Approx. 50 mins drive from the airport (depending on time of day/traffic). The hotel is quiet and offers a relaxing and peaceful escape from the bustle and noise of the centre of HCMC. Very friendly staff, clean, large room (top floor), lovely pool area. Restaurant at back of hotel over looking river, lovely setting, food very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay and would recommend this for anyone wanting a retreat from the manic city centre. "

Arumdalu: "Great experience"

Review by: widjaya | Source: Trip Advisor
The best resort on the island, the beach at the back of the resort is totally private, feels like i owned the beach by myself, food at the resort is great, just abit pricey for belitung island... But so far this is the best experience …

Tugu Lombok: "Beautiful, relaxing resort"

Review by: Jim R | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I spent three days in an oceanfront villa at the beginning of our vacation here. Hotel Tugu is a beautiful, beachside hotel in north Lombok. It is off the main room and a bit distant from the nearest town or village, so it is a bit isolated. But this is not a problem- the hotel grounds are huge, and stuffed with balinese and Indonesian art. Indeed, it is a truly beautiful hotel, one of the most beautiful I've stayed in, and the beach is absolutely perfect- a huge expanse of sand great for swimming and snorkeling. There are a two restaurants and bars serving a variety of Indonesian and western dishes. The food is excellent, though the drinks are a bit overpriced and weak (but still very tasty!). The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, though I would say that at time I thought they were a bit over the top- there can be too much service. We also had a bit of difficulty booking activities- sometimes it was hard to get someone in the main office who could help us. The rooms, like the property, were beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and clean. I would say that parts of them could have been more functional- the lighting was pretty dim, the bathroom tub didn't work very well, and other small things. But these are minor issues- we really enjoyed our stay. Overall, Hotel Tugu is an excellent hotel and well worth a visit for a more Indonesian experience than offered by other local hotels. If you are looking for the efficiency of a European-standard luxury resort, I might try one of the other nearby resorts, but then you will miss staying in a beautiful and unique property."

Jing’s Residence: "Old world charm in total comfort"

Review by: Claire C | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a lovely hotel in the historic city of Pingyao. The owner has spared no expense to create a comfortable hotel but you definitely know that you are in China. It is located in the center of the small town so it is convenient for sightseeing and walking. The staff was personally trained by the owner and they are always attentive. It is a very special place. Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "Kreativ, authentische gehobene Küche"

Review by: Schmackofatz D | Source: Trip Advisor
"Sehr köstliche, kreative und authentische gehobene Küche. Die Atmosphäre ist trotzdem familiär und ungezwungen. Die verwendeten Zutaten ideal aneinander abgestimmt. Es war unheimlich köstlich. Gerne wieder!"

Muang La Lodge: "2 jours formidables"

Review by: gwen2kast | Source: Trip Advisor
2 evenings spent in Muang La resort with my husband and our 3 children. Comfortable bedrooms, the hotel is a haven of peace ... months would have stayed longer. After several days of visiting nois recommend to stay 1 day 1/2 day quietly at the hotel to enjoy their facilities. In February pool a little cold but that's normal! No mosquitoes! Hot baths are absolutely idyllic! And meals are delicious and highly sought ...

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Walk into amazing history! Most excelent"

Review by: Rowan R | Source: Trip Advisor
"Most amazing history and architecture; a truly east meets west in a unique blend that worked in C19th and is a place which has a feeling that has to be experienced to be believed. The current owners restored this place with meticulous detail to the most miniscule of reproduced effects, having to seek out craftsmen to work with a lost art. External feature details are fashioned from broken and shaped especially fired porcelain bowls. Colourfast beauty that will last potentially for centuries. The world should thank people with this level of vision to preserve such magnificent history. The history of the original owner, Cheong Fatt Tze is as fascinating as the building itself. We had the great privilege to meet and talk with owner, architect and one of the visionaries behind the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion renovation which won the UNESCO Most Excellent Project, Lin Lee Loh-Lim. Passion personified! Check when Lin Lee Loh-Lim is conducting tours. Having stayed for several nights I can say the place and the staff are the most amazing I have ever encountered. Oh that we should all take so much pride in our work and enjoy it so much. The Restaurant with French fusion dishes is great value for money and excellent quality. This one liner is a total understatement. Yes I'm besotted with the Blue Mansion, its has been one of those experiences I will treasure and talk about for the rest of my life! Something I must say is that some of the surrounding property owners appear to have little respect for what the Blue Mansion represents and the leadership that properties of this calibre offer the future of Georgetown and Penang as a world class destination. I can only hope that the Penang City Council and Chamber of Commerce can work with all accommodation providers and landowners in the area to put sustainable noise abatement in place to enhance the experience and vision that has been so delightfully preserved in the Blue Mansion and the surrounding area. I'll be back to experience the charming ambiance of the Blue Mansion in the future. I wish the owners and staff every continuing success."

The Island Lodge: "Real vacations, not the usual awful business machine. De réelles vacances, pas une machine a’ touristes"

Review by: Pierre S | Source: Trip Advisor
"We got bored to go to the vietnamese seaside for 20 years. Jam, crowd, noise,.... I decided to shoot to another direction within close range from HCMC, possibly with another type of landscape. We pinged on My Tho and the Island Lodge Resort. Very narrow road leading to a car parking. Good or bad news, cars cannot reach the resort. An electric golf cart picked us up. They had a room for driver at the car parking for cheap including a meal. We arrived in this green resort and got welcomed by the owner. Lobby and restaurant were nice, spacey and very well ventilated. We never felt too hot. Wind helped too. Decoration was simple but very nice with a family historical touch amd view on the Mekong. We went to our bungalow. Again, simple but very nice. Very green environment. Quite. No noisy tourists. Definitely another class of tourists. Human size. Nice pool, again, simple. Nice staff too. Very caring. And best of the best? The food. For 8USD you get what would be a “bread and butter” Beef carrot dish turned into a delicacy. We will back. No doubt about it. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

Tugu Malang: "Very Unique Hotel in East Java, Indonesia"

Review by: Gary B | Source: tripadvisor.com
The Hotel Tugu Malang in Malang, East Java, Indonesia, is a perfect way to see the "non-touristy" side of Indonesia, but still experience first class service and one of the most unique properties we have ever stayed at. The hotel is situated in a beautiful mountain town in eastern Java that is very close to the spectacular and often active volcano, Mount Bromo. The hotel offers much, much more however, and is a great way to get a taste of Javanese culture that is sometimes hard to find in big cities like Jakarta. We spent only two nights at this lovely hotel, but will definitely return to continue our exploration of this culturally rich area. The hotel itself is filled with truly exotic works of art and furniture, including Ming Dynasty pieces that would likely be in a carefully guarded museum in the United States. During our stay, we took the "candi" or "temple" tour on the first day, and found it as a great way to view the surrounding countryside, as well as to see some really amazing Buddhist and Hindu temples built in the 1200-1300 AD period. The next morning, we took the traditional market tour and traditional cooking class which was really the highlight of our stay. After getting a personalized tour of a nearby traditional food market with the amazing array of fruits and vegetables native to Java, we finished the tour by preparing three traditional Javanese dishes under the careful supervision of the hotel cooking staff. The dishes turned out perfectly, and opened our eyes to the possibilities of traditional Indonesian recipes. For the quality of the surroundings and service, our stay was significantly cheaper than you will pay in the much more traveled locations like Bali or Jakarta. In short, it was a very unique and enjoyable experience, and probably ranks as our "best ever" hotel experience.
