Inle Princess Resort: "Magical Relaxation"
After more than 25 years in Asia, I'd always dreamed of visiting Inle Lake and ultimately I was very glad that my close Friend in Yangon recommended the Inle Princess to me. Pick up from Heho in an old Toyota sedan then the last 30 mins by Long tail boat from the town. Navigating the narrow paths piercing the lake reeds with the mountainous backdrop, the arrival at Inle Princess mid morning was truly memorable. I declined any tours for the rest of the day, and totally relaxed in my Lake House room, spotting birdlife with the complimentary binoculars and enjoying the magical views and peacefulness of the resort (no boat engines permitted for 500m approaching the resort). I did indulge in a half day tour the following day to a morning market and beautiful temple at the very south of the lake, ninety mins each direction, which was a fantastic experience and proved very difficult to stop taking photographs! It was extremely cool in the morning when I departed on the tour and not having any sweater, the hotel staff very kindly loaned me two very nice rugs, which helped me keep warm immensely as we zoomed through the early morning mist on the journey south. The whole resort had amazing architecture and I greatly enjoyed all of the meals that I had at the restaurant, especially the lentil soup. At lunch time the resort was deserted, I Guess because everyone was out on tours, so I recommend spending quality time to enjoy this lovely hotel and don't overdo it on the tours. I will definitely return!! Thank you.Villa Mathis: "Incredible stay"
Everything was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend the Borneo suite and the "romantic package." The massages are incredible as well! The manager, Chris, and all of the staff are extremely friendly and bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and more than comfortable. Even when we weren't staying the night, we came back to Villa Mathis just to swim, relax, have massages and eat. The perfect Balinese experience.Mie Cafe: "Best food I ever had"
We were a large group and ordered absolutely every item from the menu, to share - there is not even one dish that we did not absolutely adore! It is for sure the best choice in Siem Reap and in Cambodia!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "A piece of paradise"
"I discovered a wild place, where nature and silence seem like paradise. Large and confortable rooms so well integrated in the nature, without hurting it. My stay was so enjoyable : place is very clean, confortable, and staff so attentive and friendly. I enjoyed relaxation, water, fine food and wines, all these brought together by the kind and competent managers Anna and Valentin, dedicated to their customers. I will return for sure, temptation is not a sin !"Mie Cafe: "Excellent food and service"
Excellent food and service in this small cambodian restaurant. Second best in Siem Reap after the Cuisine Wat Damnak. The food is very good with fresh ingredients and the atmophere great, open kitchen, New York style. Reservations needed. Very close ( walking distance) to the Sofitel hotel. Portion are normal by european standards.Rachamankha: "Pearl of Chiang Mai"
A beautiful hotel. Tucked away in its more hectic surroundings of Chiang Mai. Rachamankha gives you the opportunity to step away into a very peaceful and tranquil environment. Surrounded by Chinese antique and great architecture it is easy to feel at home. The swimmingpool is clean, well maintained and again well designed. There is a library to dive into the background of Rachamankha's lay out, its design and architecture. The staff, so helpful, generous, professional and friendly. They even sent us - in no time - our daughters' birthday presents we forgot in the hotel room. High quality service, great food and better wine, a delight. We don't like to visit the same place twice, but this hotel will be the exception.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A unique experience, best service you can find"
"We have traveled a lot around the world in both high luxury hotels and small guesthouses, but we must admit that I have rarely had such a nice experience as the one we got at Thahara Inle Heritage. To us, this hotel has it all : the luxury bungalows with quiet private terrace right in the middle of Inle lake (that you would expect to find in a a 5* hotel) and the adorable welcoming service that you can only find in small intimate guesthouses. Plus, the food is divine (and the breakfast, Oh My !) and very much affordable for the location, so what more can we ask for ? Well, you could wish that your money goes to a good cause, and it does. Thahara Inle Heritage is part of the not-for-profit training center that prepare local young people for careers in restaurants and hotels. That explains the amazing and welcoming service ! It also had its own amazing garden full of delicious vegetables, which explains the amazing local cuisine of their restaurant, and works towards full sustainability, so you are assured to contribute to a green stay. You can also take part in one of their cooking class if you have time, surely the best one you can find in the country ! Or you can just wander around the Thahara, pay a visit to their Burmese cat center or check out their local Aquarium. Or you can hop on a boat and head to Nampan market, 5 minutes away, or leave for a memorable boat drive to the Sankar, on the very southern shores of the lake. Endless possibilities, total freedom, breathtaking views. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Myanmar. PS: as for the previous comment, fear nothing if you are a light sleeper, Thahara provides you with earplugs in your room, though we did not need them. And if you are afraid to be cold at night on the lake, you will be happily surprised to find hot water bottles in your bed to warm you up when you come back to your bungalow at night. Brilliant. Stayed January 2016"Talabgaon Castle: "Nice hotel with AMAZING hospitality"
"Well, it was a long weekend break, and the wife and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to do 2 things - 1. Visit Bhangarh Fort - which is rated the most haunted place in India 2. Unwind and do practically nothing - as our work schedules are quite hectic On our way from Gurgaon, we covered Bhangarh Fort which is little detour off the route to Lalsot, then carried onto our final destination - Talabgaon Heritage Resort. The road till Lalsot Via Manoharpur - Dausa is quite good, with less traffic and we managed to cover the 290 Kms in about 5 hours. However, on the way back we took the Alwar route, road again is very good however the traffic on this road is more, hence took about 6 hours to reach. The resort is well off the grid, so basically nothing to do but relax at the hotel once there. This is made easy by the fact that the property is quite huge, very well maintained, the staff is ever so polite and eager to help, cleanliness is well taken care of and the food is simply AWESOME !! Dinner was by the pool side both nights, which was a nice arrangement with an army of staff standing by to force feed you :) Mr Narindra Mitra, the GM at the hotel, definitely deserves special mention for making sure we have a pleasant stay and managing the entire hotel/staff so well. Will definitely visit here during my next road trip maybe later this year. Couple of things which readers should be aware of while visiting the place - 1. There is no 4G/3G here for sure, so forget your laptop/ iPad at home and maybe tell the Airtel woman to come down here and do her crappy advertisement :) 2. Wi-Fi wasn't working throughout our stay due to some issue 3. Pool isn't really something to write home about and can be best avoided (The Management should make an investment and get this fixed)"SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Cook to Perfection!"
There is no available words to describe what dinning in this restaurant is! From the setting, going to the service and finaly the food itself is everything designed to perfection! You will, for sure have a grand time in this restaurant! Everything is freshly homemade! You got to have a go!Labyrinth: "Inventive Menu by Chef / Owner L G Han"
"If you are looking for a dining experience to really remember then the one Michelin Star, Labyrinth Restaurant is for you. We enjoyed the ten (10) course, very inventive, degustation menu with matching wines. This was not a 'cheap meal out' alternative but what an experience. The sensational flavours Chef Han has 'developed / created' and presents beautifully onto your plate are to die for and create much discussion if you are lucky enough to be sharing this experience (and I mean a 'real experience') with someone. Each course is described by the excellent staff, who are attentive, but not overly so, which is good for a dining experience. We were lucky enough to get to talk to Chef / Owner Han (apparently an Investment Banker ?? in a previous life), who is a very dedicated and focused Chef and ever so willing to talk about his passion for food, presentation, attention to detail and how and why he set out to create the 'truly innovative' fair he offers at Labyrinth. If you're in Singapore, love food and wine and like to challenge your taste buds with something very different, then Labyrinth will certainly meet your every expectation."
