Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Fantastic!"
"We had a wonderful time at the resort. Beautiful setting, gorgeous views, excellent service and delicious food every day. Best place for relaxing including great Ayurveda treatments. Highly recommendable! Hermann&Monika Neumann"Tugu Bali: "Traditional old world Balinese style hotel"
"Drive through traditional villages and rice fields. Only 30 minutes from Seminyak. It is a lovely drive and sometimes people want to see the rice fields without spending a day driving to Ubud. Arrive at Tugu, lovely old world traditional hotel for a nice lunch. A couple of hours of your time well spent. Relaxing, peaceful and educational. "Supanniga Cruise: "Exquisite dinner and tour on the Chao Phraya !"
A must do and see when in Bangkok, charming cruise that will ride you close by the upmost historical places and monuments.Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Maison Wat Kor – Peaceful, beautiful, welcoming"
This is a small, simple hotel, where the emphasis is on the setting, the lake, the garden, the service rather than in-room facilities. The rooms are quite simple, but perfectly comfortable, with all the facilities you reasonably need, and mostly look over a wonderful little lake with waterlilies and all kinds of flowers. There is a small restaurant serving simple but beautifully prepared food, and offering three set breakfasts - all very well judged. The most notable thing, however, is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they really make you feel as if you were in your own home. We cannot recommend if highly enough - we really didn't want to leave!Tugu Bali: "Traditional Indonesian colonial style hotel with interesting antique collection"
"Cangu is the new up and coming area in Bali. Now that Seminyak is getting too crowded Cangu starts developing. The Tugu hotel was visionary when it got build 20 years ago. It was the first hotel to set up shop in Cangu and it has a location right at the beach. It is a not a modern style hotel, but a classic Indonesian style hotel build like a colonial building with hardwood flooring and a dark wooden interior. Everything from the light switches to the taps in the bathroom is old looking. I doubt there is any other hotel in Bali that comes close in colonial looks and feel. Room 206 we stayed in was part of a house, which had inside and outside areas. We stayed at the top floor which had views over the garden towards the beach. Below us was room 106 which would not have these views. There were also amazing views of the lotus flower filled pond which had wooden walkways crossing it to link to the honeymoon suite. When we entered we were amazed about the huge open space entrance hall which had a huge wooden statue of a Garuda bird. The hotel is full of Indonesian antiques, with the owner collecting these over his lifetime and displaying them in his hotels. The service in this hotel is excellent with the Balinese people being ever so friendly to assist you. The hotel also has a large grass area which connects to the beach. It is full of statues, beds to chill out on, and at night it is beautifully candle lit with hundreds of candles. This is the perfect place to chill out and watch the sunset. In the mornings you can eat breakfast here as well and this is something I would certainly recommend. The hotel has 2 restaurants, one doing good Indonesian fare. You can also do an Indonesian style cooking class which we did. They have also recently opened the Ji restaurant, a Japanese restaurant which is located in a 300 year old Chinese building which was dismantled in Java and shipped to Bali. They do excellent sushi here, which not many places in Bali do. There is no kids menu here but they can order food from the Indonesian restaurant which does have a kids menu. Outside there is a decent size pool which has a part that is 2 foot deep, excellent for smaller children, and a 5 foot deep area. There is no barriers between these areas, so keep minding the small ones. This is a hotel is OK for children, there is no kids club here and the pool is not necessarily suited for really small children. You go to this hotel to feel part of Indonesia's history. It has been done exceptionally well. I would say go sooner rather than later before Cangu gets fully build up. We noticed a hotel being build right on the back of this hotel, planning rules in Bali are almost non existent. The Tugu was building a large net for climbing plants to provide the necessary privacy."Rachamankha: "Loved it!"
Rachamankha has it all: it's in a prime location (near all the temples) but it's really peaceful and quiet. The pool is perfect, and the library is a really cool asset. Breakfast is highly recommended too. All in all, our stay was perfect!Tugu Bali: "Perfect Style, Excellent Location"
We spent 5 nights at Tugu Bali and just fell in love with the hotel from the minute we arrived. It's rustic elegance, historical decor and art, and exceptional staff make it the perfect place to stay on Bali's southwest coast. Best of all, you're far enough from the crowds of those tourist traps Kuta and Seminyak. Though the food at Tugu Bali is very good, the hotel is right across the street from a very lively beach club (though you won't hear it) and several other beachside cafes. Most of the action in Canggu is 2 kilometers up the road, leaving you in solitudeVilla Song Saigon: "Luxury by the river"
This hotel oozes luxury at every pore, and they have thought of every detail. The room was magnificent with a comfortable bed, beautiful interior and lovely bath soaps. Service was fantastic - helpfully booking dinner for us on each night and arranging for taxis to take us there. The food was amazing - so much so that it was a struggle (that I lost on each occasion) not to overeat at breakfast. The spa and massage was luxurious, the pool looked beautiful, and the riverside setting is beautifully peaceful. In fact my only criticims is that in making the hotel so very comfortable it was difficult to drag ourselves to leave to explore Ho Chi Minh!Rachamankha: "Slice of heaven in Chiang Mai"
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and a refuge to come home to after a day strolling the busy streets of Chiang Mai. There is always a wonderful aroma of incense around the property...I think it was Sandalwood, but nevertheless was just delicious. The rooms were spacious and the bed was so comfortable, again after a long day. The lounges that surround the property are also delightful and I just wish I had had more time to sit and read and enjoy a drink while enjoying the decor. It is an elegant property, yet not stuffy and very welcoming. The Cabochon Hotel: "A Gem in the Heart of Bangkok"
"This is it! Don't come here to find the latest gadgets in comfort for the decerned business traveler, but make a visit to the past yet excellent in style and service. Enjoy the wonderful surroundings of a truly colonial style. What makes it all a really very nice experience is the personal service! Yes it is a kind of home. Your size is also comfortable as you will never get lost in a huge building, but you could get ""lost"" with all the nice decorations and artifacts probably from a personal collection. The restaurant serving a Thai fare is excellent. Also here the nice personal touch. Keep it up this way! You are definitely carving a very special place in the heart of Bangkok. Please do not be in a hurry here, as sometimes the Sukhumvit travel get you stranded. But then there is the BTS nearby!"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
