Supanniga Eating Room: "Like it so much that we went again within 5 days!"
The night that we went for dinner, the restaurant was packed! Good thing we made reservation. We're ushered upstairs our table was a low table with 2 armchairs near to a window. Restaurant is small and it is a tight squeeze. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is yummy. We had the mixed appetizer, the Ma Hor is fantastic, spicy morsel of meat goes well with the tangy orange. We also ordered the crab fried with yellow peppers amongst others. It was this dish that made us go back! And we didn't regret it. For our 2nd dinner we had other dishes beside the crab. All turned out to be so good! Definitely a must try place. Oh yes, don't forget the drinks, the cocktails are very good too. We didn't have dessert there as we planned to walk down the street to Maevaree for their fantastic mango sticky rice.Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Heaven in Mrauk U"
From Sittwe, you must take a boat. Please don't think about this as something you need to do before getting to where your holiday starts. Make the boat ride the adventure. Mrauk Oo Princess Resort has a lovely boat, where you and your friends can relax and witness life on the water as you pass by remote villages, pagodas and breathtaking views. We arrived at night with the whole resort lit up by lovely lights. Stunning. The staff was so incredibly friendly and the food was exceptional. I actually prefer Mrauk U to the more touristy Bagan. One has some beautiful archeological sites to visit from Temples to ancient Pagodas. The highlight of my trip was the sunrise and sunset that Mrauk Oo organized for us. I was not sure what to expect, but was up at 5am and was taken by car to a pathway that was a 10 minute hike to a very old Pagoda that had the most amazing view, with only my group around, we got to the top and coffee/tea and croissants were awaiting us, as the sun came up over this beautiful land. Our sunset was from a different location, the climb was a bit steeper but just as rewarding. Champaign was served instead of coffee. I felt very spoilt. For a slice of Myanmar paradise away from the hectic touristy spots, this is by far my favorite place in a long time.Satri House: "A treasure"
We stayed at the Satri House for 4 nights. It is a former royal residence and one can experience the elegance of the former time. The hotel was recently renovated while in keeping with this charm. Our room was large and well-appointed - the rooms spread out among the beautiful grounds. The overall atmosphere is calming with a lovely dining area and reception rooms . The staff are very helpful and courteous. They genuinely want to be sure that you enjoy your stay. The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Best food in wonderful hotel"
It is one of the most wonderful decorated places in Bangkok with the best Thai food we have ever had! And we had a lot of Thai food within the last 24 years visiting Bangkok every year at least once. Having a break and left in paradise The Cabochon is the place to go. Service is excellent and the whole house is just stunning. If you want to have your special moment-Cabochon is the place to experience it! And I am not mentioning the pool on the roof and the hotel rooms (secret gem)Tugu Malang: "Very beautiful place with a lot of antique furniture"
Very nice place to stay and very good price with fantastic services. The restaurant menus just simply the most delicious food you can get. The traditional way of presentation is very interesting and beautifully done.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Heaven on earth"
Decadent, Eco friendly accommodation with a difference- I booked two of their tents which included private pools. My family spent one night. They provide a very flexible shuttle into Ubud, with wonderful drivers. We were picked up in Seminyak and the dropped to our next accommodation in Sanur, all preorganised via the internet- really a must do.Rachamankha: "An oasis of tranquilliy"
"The Rachamankha hotel is a true gem, an oasis of peace right in the city of Chiang Mai. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, and it was a perfect stay. The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the Wat Phra Singh temple, and close to the Sunday Night Market. Taking a taxi from the airport takes only 15 minutes, and the everywhere inside the old center of Chiang Mai is walking distant. The rooms are located inside a courtyard that is secluded from the busy street outside, and it is very quite and peaceful. The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful, and guests are felt welcome from the moment they step inside. The architecture of the hotel is very elegant yet understated, and so are the rooms, which face the inner courtyard. The rooms have ample space, and complimentary amenities include slippers, bathrobe, umbrellas for the rainy days, fruit, and water bottles which are refilled daily. The breakfast is very good, with a buffet of bread, fruit, pastries and cereal, and the choice of items from an a la carte menu such as eggs, omelette, waffles and french toast. The quality of the breakfast and the service at the table is excellent. The swimming pool, located at the back of the hotel is big enough considering the smaller number of rooms, and was never too crowded during our stay. It is possible to also get massages in a building next to the pool, and the prices for poolside drinks are very competitive for Western standards. Overall our stay at Rachamankha was great, and it is hard to find a negative about the hotel. The price is high compared to the average room priced in Chiang Mai, but the quality is more than enough to justify it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my fiends and family for their future travel plans."Villa Song: "River Retreat"
We spent four nights at the lovely Villa Song in August after a trip down the Mekong and it was a lovely surprise. The hotel is a beautifully restored French villa sitting right on the river in District 2. We chose to stay there because it is away from the hustle and bustle of District 1 and were very pleased with our choice. The restaurant on the river serves great food in a picturesque setting. The pool at the back of the hotel provides a peaceful retreat. Each of the rooms are different and we had one at the back with a little courtyard next to the pool which we were very happy with. The staff are excellent and the art work and presentation of the hotel is 5 star. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Song next time we are in Ho Chi Minh.Muang La Lodge: "An outstanding experience"
"One of the best management we ever experienced, the food sublime, probably the best we had in Laos! From our arrival to our leave we have been taken extra care by these two young managers! They were also able to hand down their passion to the local staff, an impressive task considering the circumstances of the location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Laos, especially if you love food and thermal waters! Thank you very much for the amazing time and for the color pencils for our little daughter we found on the mini bus when we left!"Satri House: "Luxury"
A beautiful small resort in the garden of a former palace, which is well renovated, while the new parts are tastefully added, surrounded by a lush and quiet garden. 2 swimming pools, a restaurant and a spa complete the retreat. Superbly decorated, big rooms, ours was with a balcony with all privacy. Roomservice was perfect, they bring a small snack in the afternoon and prepare the room for sleeping in the evening. Breakfast was good (even so the espresso was a payable extra, a bit stingy considering the price). The staff very friendly and helpful - some extra english lessons for them would be good... Location wise a bit out of town, but in a walkable distance or an easy and cheap trip with tuktuk - the advantage of absolute quietness worth.
