David’s Kitchen: "Lovely, thoughtful restaurant"
We came to David's after a long day at the elephant sanctuary in search of a little pampering, and David's did not disappoint. They kindly picked us up from our hotel which was very nice and convenient. The ambiance is very peaceful and beautifully decorated. It is apparent that David cares very much about each guest's experience and there is much attention to detail. Cocktails were amazing! The staff are very attentive and I would recommend coming here for a special evening you won't forget. Thank you David for making our last night in Chiang Mai so memorable!Jing’s Residence: "An Asian Oasis of Calm"
Quietly unassuming plain wooden doors lead into this beautifully crafted small hotel and restaurant. We were offered tea and honey roasted dates as we sat down to register and then shown to an exquisite bedroom with with a warm wooden floor, huge bed on a wooden platform and a perfect bathroom. What a relief to find a room with no television but with lovely pictures, curtains and furniture. Tea comes in three loose leaf varieties and a bowl of tangerines was a nice touch. We dined in the beautiful restaurant on honey and ginger roasted chicken, stir fried beef and vegetables with rice and two glasses of really excellent Chinese wine. An unusual and wonderful small hotel set within the busking car free streets of this fascinating walled city.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Perfect date night restaurant"
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. The food, ambiance, and service were all excellent. The owners are Swiss and the cheese plate was as good as any I have had in Europe. The beef tenderloin was great. They kept bringing interesting amuse bouches to us. The setting was lovely and the servers were very attentive. Great wine collection too.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Oasis in the middle of busy Yangon"
A stunning place in the heart of Yangon, with an impecable view towards the Inya Lake. The food is just perfection and the hosts are really nice. The only thing I could criticize would be that the table is a little bit dark. The Cabochon Hotel: "Perfect weekend retreat"
What a great hotel! Tucked away at the end of the long stretch of busy Sukhumvit is this gem of a hotel. Small and charming. Friendly, attentive and personable staff. Has a great lounge for cocktails and a rooftop pool. Just 13 rooms!Mathis Retreat: "A lush oasis"
"Loved my stay at Mathis Retreat. A little bit removed from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town centre, it was the perfect place to relax after days spent travelling and exploring. From the leisurely breakfasts over looking the verdant rice fields, to the spacious room (Garden Bungalow) and of course the friendly staff, it ticked all the boxes. The room itself was airy and spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom reasonably large. Only complaint was the positioning of the power points, which meant devices could be charged or used, but not both at the same time. It would be helpful to have accessible power points near the bedside tables. The breakfast food options were plentiful, and I appreciated the fresh fruit juices and homemade jams. Recommend the pineapple pancakes, if you choose the Western breakfast option, but even better was the vegetarian nasi goreng. The vegetarian dinner options were a bit limited which was a bit disappointing. The staff were really lovely and it was nice to be welcomed by the owner, made the experience a little more personal than the usual hotel stay. The wifi connection was good and the free shuttle service was easy to use, making short work of the trip to and from the town centre. It may be a bit pricier than some of the hotels closer to the town centre, but it was definitely worth! Would definitely stay here again if ever in Ubud."The Island Lodge: "Mekong trip or Saigon escape? This is your place"
"When you arrive on the small road you may wonder if you got lost, in fact you just found a secret gem! Beautiful surroundings (pool and river on one side, gorgeous garden on the other side) Tasteful design and decoration everywhere around Lovely and helpful team Nice mix of Vietnamese and French food Large choice of activities/tours to visit the area by boat, bike or scooter. We will definitely be back for the Mekong and for the Hotel!"The Village House: "Mr and Mrs Smith style boutique hotel"
"Myself and a friend stayed at The Village House for one night a couple of weeks ago, and we both left saying that we could have stayed for much longer. If I go back to Borneo I intend to stay there for at least a week! The room was lovely and clean, modern, unpretentious and very comfortable. The bathroom was big, with a powerful shower. It was quiet and felt safe and secure. The hotel has a lovely pool, which has lots of nice plants and trees around it that give it a great deal of character. The restaurant and 'bar' area is around the pool, we ate both lunch and supper at the hotel as there is nowhere else around (I believe the closest restaurant is a 5km drive away), but eating at the hotel was the best decision anyway, as their food is some of the best we had over the course of the trip, which is high praise in Malaysia! The beach is about 2 minutes away from the hotel on foot, it is huge and quite striking with lots of trees and deadwood on the beach. The sea was extremely warm, it is quite shallow for a long way out, so perhaps not the best if you want a real dip. Sadly I was attacked by a jelly fish so my swim was abruptly ended. According to the hotel they are not that rare, but not dangerous, perhaps not the best place from swimming though! Overall I found it comfortable, the staff were lovely and helpful, and I would highly recommend its restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere with lots of bars and restaurants, however, this is not the area for you!"tugu bali: "Secret pearl"
"It was the second time in 3 years that we stayed in this lovely boutique hotel. The dedicated staff takes 24 hrs. care about you and you are not a ""number"" in this hotel. The food served is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed. We will absolutely come back in this ""secret pearl"" when we will visit Bali again."The Island Lodge: "Lovely lodge, beautiful grounds, easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City"
The Island Lodge was perfect for our family holiday. The lodge has a great, handy location, we wanted a taste of the Mekong and did not have time to travel any further yet we felt tucked away in the greenery beside the river. It is a smaller boutique style family owned place with beautiful grounds, gardens and wonderfully friendly helpful staff. The food and the spa are very nice, we had a really enjoyable stay.
