"Satri House was especially memorable stay for us thanks to GT, Julie, and team. Also, GT sent us the jam as he mentioned in the post! The extra 10 miles they went is absolutely touching. Thank you for the above and beyond experience. Satri House will always have a place in our heart. I am planning to cook me some GT pasta tomorrow!"Jing’s Residence: "Great Property"
The highlight of our trip to Pingyao was experiencing Jing's Residence. The accommodations, staff, food, and service were 5 star all the way. Mr. Hadianas, the General Manager, and his excellent staff made you feel like one of the family. It is the ONLY place to consider when staying in Pingyao. Experience authentic old world charm while luxuriating in modern conveniences and amenities. A truly wonderful property. I highly recommend it.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Lovely place for lunch"
After a busy morning sightseeing we were taken here for lunch. Sitting on the veranda overlooking the boats zipping up and down the canal this is a restful place to have lunch. We had the chicken cooked in coconut juice served wrapped in a banana, wonderful. This was followed by the most wonderful EVER banana cake, out of this world.Manda De Laos: "Amazing"
The food was ridiculously good, the setting is beautiful and the staff is great! Bit expensive as we were trying to budget but definitely recommend for a special evening!Labyrinth: "Creative Asian cuisine"
Impress by the unexpected dishes and the creative creation of Asian cuisine. I loves the yummy soft shell crab, "bak chor mee" and the roasted pork belly with siew yoke umami rice.Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel: "A great, deep and perfect experience"
I spent 3 days with my family (kids: 7 & 8 years) in the Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel. I am a very spoiled customer but can say: Wow! What a great and deep experience. We felt welcomed from the very first minute. We loved the very friendly and attentative service be it in the restaurant or at the reception. The hotel team organized excursions for us to Edo Wonderland, the cultural highlights of Nikko or a rafting trip on the Kinugawa river. The team took care end to end and even organized the required tickets. The rooms (we had a japanese standard room with2 beds) were very clean and a good mix of modern luxury and the traditional japanese style. The onsen is beautiful and the Kaiseki kitchen is remarkable.(...) And yes, you need to have time. Not all members of the hotel team speak English but they surely will get you someone with the required language skills. That might take a minute longer but the hotel team demonstrated to be very flexible and even more important: they really took care to make our stay a relaxed, pleasent and deep experience. If you are up for that, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for an international highspeed service and have no time nor patience or interest to have a dialogue with people then you might stay in a larger hotel chain. The Apsara Rive Droite: "Six-star service"
"I've stayed at a lot of hotels, and have never experienced service at the level of what I experienced at the Apsara River Droit. Mr. Han and the rest of the staff will go above and beyond - and even further - to ensure that you have an amazing time in Luang Prabang. I stayed at the hotel from 28 April to 2 May, and was a solo traveler. An example: when I wanted to go to fabric village Ban Xieng Man at 1 pm in sweltering 37 degree weather, and the hotel couldn't find a tuk tuk, they dispatched one of the hotel workers to take me for a 10-minute motorbike ride there. Another example: I left my chargers in my hotel room, and the receptionist drove to the airport terminal so that I could have them before my flight. The rooms are spacious and have every expected amenity (coffee, tea, hair dryer), but the real standout is the balcony. It has both two chairs and a daybed; it was great to sit on the daybed during the extremely hot afternoons. I would highly recommend the second-floor river view rooms; I stayed in room three. I had great views of the garden, the pool and the Nam Khan river. The breakfast was also very generous; the highlight was the three fresh jams (papaya, pineapple and mango). As for the river, it's very easy to call the boat back and forth across the river. It's a 1 minute ride, and I never had to wait. Just as a warning - the stairs on the Luang Prabang side can be quite steep. And be prepared to climb stairs! (Not just at this hotel, but throughout the city). If I had to suggest anything for this hotel - and it would be minor - it would be to have mosquito spray available in rooms! The mosquitos throughout Luang Prabang are vicious, and I would have spent a lot more time on the balcony if it had been readily available. Although, on second thought, I'm sure it would have been readily available had I asked."Misool: "Paradise found!"
"There really aren’t adequate words to describe our experience at MER. I have been fortunate to visit many gorgeous beach destinations worldwide but nothing can come close to Misool Eco Resort. Not only is it visually stunning but the entire experience is unsurpassed. The staff is warm, kind and attentive...nothing is too much trouble. The diving is the best in the world of course and what the founders and staff have created is an inspiration. Special thanks to Sue and Mark for creating such a wonderful experience for us and to Sabine my ‘scuba therapist’ and new friend. Being a nervous diver despite experience she went above and beyond to teach me, support me and help me grow tremendously in my diving skills. Our ‘once in a lifetime’ will definitely be repeated....we just left and miss it already. Lisa and John Mitchell"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
