MesaStila: "Hidden treasure – a lovely escape"

Review by: Jintymikmax | Source: Trip Advisor
"Our party of 19 stayed at this amazing resort on the last leg of our trip. The MesaStila is housed on a vast area that was once a coffee plantation. Imagine lush greenery, manicured lawns and beautifully landscaped plants. These grounds are peppered with bungalows of varying sizes with some having connecting doors. This proved useful for all the kids in the party to visit each others' rooms. We also had the privilege of staying at the Bellavista (also referred to as the Presidential Suite). This palatial residence has a living room large enough to house all 19 of us for dinner without feeling cramped. The amazing staff obliged to our request to have room service served there because of the kids were too tired to head to the restaurant for dinner. The living area also proved useful for group discussion sessions and a good game of hide and seek. The bedrooms were equally mind blowing with the ornate four poster beds and sunken baths. A beautiful blend of antiques and modern requirements - copper sinks and faucets, flat screen TV, wooden bar locks, electric kettle and a bar fridge. The resort kindly obliged to our request for extra beds as some of us had 3 in a group. The rooms were large enough to accommodate the bed without it feeling like space was compromised, The other villas has a variety of bedding combinations including one with a loft bed! Within the Resort, the Hammam Spa was a wonderful escape as I opted for the 90min Intensive Massage Therapy. My therapist managed to work through my knots from the previous day's hike and left me feeling so refreshed, I was tempted to add another 90 minutes! Breakfast is served daily at Java Green. There is a decent selection of local and international food (try to chicken porridge!) but the one thing you must not miss is the daily dose of Jamu (Indonesian Traditional Herbal Drink) served by the loveliest little lady at the entrance of the restaurant. There are several concoctions to choose from - be warned, some taste better than others - but they're all good for the system. And if the lady's appearance is anything to go by, I'd be happy to drink the stuff daily! If you're wondering what to do at the resort, here's a list of stuff we tried: Cycling through the Padi fields and taking a soak at the local ""hot spring"" at the end of the ride The Coffee Plantation tour - very educational with more than just coffee to see Take a swim in the lovely pool Relax at the SPA Play pool at the bar Read a nice book at the clubhouse Ask about the Jeep tour to Merapi (Indonesia's most active volcano) Visit the amazing Borobudur Plenty to see and do! There's also stuffwe didn't have time to try, like batik painting, learning to play the Gamelan, morning Yoga sessions, pony rides, etc. Check with the Reception for the daily activity schedules. While the 8 parents on the trip were quite awestruck by the place, I also have to add that we had 11 boys with us - all aged 12 and some were slightly spooked by the ornate architecture and furnishings when we arrived on the first night. The city boys having just left a rather modern upmarket hotel did take a while to get used to the antiquated outlook of the place. That said, they were very happy to run around once the sun came up and once familiarity set in, they were a bit sad to leave after 3 nights there. I would recommend the establishment for couples, anyone in need of peace and quiet, people who appreciate old architecture or just someone in need of a slightly different holiday."

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Great hospitality, nice and cozy place"

Review by: wasit l | Source: Trip Advisor
Just got back from a 3-night visit in Luang phrabang. Stay here is fantastic. The place is very relaxed and cozy. Nice experience to ride a boat to downtown. The staff is great, especially Hann (GM) Who has excellent service-minded. I would love to go there again as the escape weekend.

Sandat Glamping Tents: "Words don´t describe this unique place"

Review by: HipHopChick | Source: Trip Advisor
"This place is like no other. Best in Bali! We stayed here for three nights around New Year 2016, one night in a tent and two nights in a lumbung. Everything was just very unique and perfect, from entering the property to check out. The interior design, the garden and the plants, the tatched bamboo roofs and buildings not to mention the tents and the lumbungs, the pool overlooking the jungle and the ricefield surroundings. I would say Sandat has the friendliest staff in Bali and the supernice and friendly Italian owners have managed to create a spotless concept. The interior design and sophisticated taste just crowned it all! Sandat is just ca 10-15 minutes drive from Ubud center and has a totally unique atmosphere; tranquility, lush, nature, green with the jungle on one side and the rice fields on the other side. The place will have their own yoga studio from spring 2016. If you're about to book something for Ubud, don't hesitate to go for this. You won't regret it! We even returned after a week of traveling around Bali and spend our last days at this fantastic place. Big thumbs up to the Italian owners Emanuela and Federico!"

Villa Song: "Delightful hotel away from the crowds"

Review by: travelbyRosie | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a delightful boutique hotel away from the crowds of Ho Chi Minh City but with the benefit of regular speed boat shuttles to take you to the centre of town. The rooms are well appointed with luxurious amenities. The service is fantastic from the very helpful staff. The location is out of the centre of town but it's easy to get into the centre of town and the location on the river is very nice. Also, the local neighborhood has a number of restaurants, shops, tailors etc. The hotel concierge has a great list of activities and tours - all the ones we did we were great. Definitely recommend Villa Song."

Inle Princess Resort: "Wunderschönes Hotel"

Review by: Alexander E | Source: Trip Advisor
Wir waren im August als Paar dort und die Erfahrung war wirklich großartig. Die Lage ist wunderschön, die Anlage topgepflegt und das Personal extrem freundlich. Das Restaurant ist gut, aber nicht Spitze und etwas überteuert. Sonst alles top!

Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect choice for Dal Lake"

Review by: Mountainmann | Source: Trip Advisor
We planned to spend 4 nights on a houseboat on Lake Dal and spent much time reading TA reviews and reviews from other sites. We selected the Sukoon based on these reviews and the new construction as we feared older boats may have a musty and damp smell. After looking at so many other boats during our 5 days on Lake Dal we are sure we made the correct decision. The service was professional, the rooms as described -- new. clean and well appointed. The food was good and the meal service superb. Customer service was a high point. A real plus for the Sukoon was the location at the far end of the lake away from almost all houseboats. This is important as most boats are located in a chock-a-block fashion with little if any privacy. They arranged our tours and other needs. We would definitely choose the Sukoon when we return and return we will as Srinagar is a fabulous destination that deserves more the 5 days. Our only regret was not having arranged airport pick up ahead of time. The airport arrival area is chaotic to say the least due to security procedures and most taxi drivers had no idea where the Sukoon was located --- there are well over 500 houseboats on the lake so this would be expected.

Manda De Laos: "Delicious food in romantic setting"

Review by: Pauline and Ala... D | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a rather special place with a unique atmosphere. Where else would you find yourself sitting by a moonlit lotus pond listening to frogs croaking while enjoying a superb meal? The service was excellent and the food delicious. It's not the cheapest meal you will have in Laos, but an experience definitely well worth paying for and you would pay a great deal more for this quality of food and ambience in the UK.

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Easter holida"

Review by: CamDav18 | Source: Trip Advisor
Our stay at the Golden Buddha Resort was magnificent, truly magical. We knew getting there was going to be a bit of a trek, but it was really worth it. The location by the sea is great, the beach was vast and empty, each tree-house beautifully furnished and our son liked it too (the pool table, the pizzas at the beach-bar and wifi at the clubhouse especially) It's a place to enjoy nature, where you can reflect, breathe and simply live. With a few added bits of luxury the resort had the perfect balance for us. We stayed at Baan Marina which was beautiful, spent most of our days at the resort (close to the beach bar) and the club house in the evening, playing pool, cards or reading after food. The staff were ever so friendly, Massi and Pena were the perfect hosts. If we would recommend anything, it would be good to offer a few alternative dishes in the evening for kids although saying that we thought the chef was really excellent. Breakfast was a treat too! Thanks to everyone at Golden Buddha for the lovely memories, we loved it!

We had a great experience from the moment we arrived by a great hosted and really make us feel at home. It was an unforgettable memory with family and we absolutely can't wait to return ❤️!"
