Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "An amazing experience.."
"Firstly, my apologies, as my review comes in very late. We travelled as a family of 5 and had planned a one-night stay at Tiger Mountain in late March. The moment we stepped into the lodge, its location took our breath away. Looking down at the valley below and the clouds in the distance, my family was instantly taken with the property. I, of course, had ulterior motives, Tiger Mountain is renowned to be one of the best birding destinations in Nepal. We were welcomed very warmly by Jhalak, the property's customer service manager who gave us a complete overview of the property. We had arrived at lunchtime, so after taking our lunch (all freshly made, the highlight of which was the tomato chutney), we retired to our rooms where the view was equally marvelous if not more. (...)As my family had some specific food requirements, the hotel stage were kind enough us to whip us something when the regular meal choices didn't make sense. At night once the weather had settled, Hari brought me out to listen to the haunting call of the Mountain Scops Owl, and since I had a flashlight, he said I could try my luck to catch the eye shine of a wandering yellow-throated marten (no luck there!). Next morning, I was up again to go with Hari, and after a quick clouded view of the Himalayas, we were off. We saw many more species, including the Khaleej pheasant scurrying away from the owner's bungalow into the forest. Truly a birder's paradise this. Jhalak and all the other staff ensured throughout our stay that we were well looked after (Jhalak, I did mention you to Jitudai at Chitwan, he beamed brightly when he heard yours and Hari's name). All in all, a wonderful stay, cozy, relaxing and for an amateur birder, downright enjoyable :) "Supanniga Eating Room: "Great Food & Dining Atmosphere"
I can't recommend Supaniga Eating Room highly enough to justify the gastronomic experience we had there. If you're staying in the Sukhumvit area, you can do only justice to your stay in Bangkok and if you make an advance booking for dinner at Supaniga Eating Room in Thonglor.Villa Song: "Everything I hoped for!"
"Booked the Villa Song for our 3 night stay in HCMC. What a great choice. To be honest I found the city very over-whelming in terms of noise and people and pollution, so VS was an oasis of calm and peace. Our room was tiny, but wonderful and comfortable, and we had a little terrace overlooking the river. The breakfast was delicious every day, and we had lunch and drinks there at least once as well. Staff could not have been nicer - always smiling and helpful. We took the speedboat to the city with an awesome driver and a very nice Swiss couple. On the way back it was the awesome driver, the very nice Swiss couple and at least 6 other people. To say the boat was heavily laden and the journey was a bit nerve-racking would be a masterly understatement but we got there. :) Our last morning there was my birthday - I mentioned that to our waiter because I was ordering Mimosas for breakfast - and at the end of the meal I got a yummy little cake. I wish we had had more time to explore the area around the hotel - but maybe we will come back. The only thing that was bit of a downer was the polluted state of the river. There was always debris floating by and its dirty looking. Of course that is not the fault of the hotel, but it is worth mentioning. I still enjoyed watching it though."Sea Dance Resort: "excellent"
It's rare to be compelled to write a review before leaving a property but in terms of value for money, service, food and atmosphere Sea Resort really deserves immediate praise. When you know the names of the staff, and they yours, within hours of settling in you know you are on to a winner. If you enjoy great breakfasts, beach front dinners, chilled out family friendly boutique style digs then I reckon this could be right up your street. On an Island that is , sometimes, decidedly hit and miss in terms of the Quality/Cost/Service ratio Sea dance delivers on all three. Thanks Poy. Helen, Kent and Faith and Staff. You are legends!!SANDAT GLAMPING TENTS: "Lovely place"
"I stayed here for 3 nights with my two girls aged 3 and 5 and husband in one of the tents. Even though we had young children I didn't feel that anyone minded as it is/feels like a quiet retreat. Sublime surroundings made my stay feel like a real treat. The owners were staying on site when we were there and did introduce themselves which was nice. The tents are bug proof if you keep it all closed up and having a glass door made it feel very room like. At night you go to sleep listening to frogs and crickets... very romantic. You need some strong Deet thou ! We had a meal or two here and a couple in town, the transfer is around 15 mins through beautiful rice fields and over a couple of ravines. We had a free massage as we booked directly with the website, I paid in advance for the tent via the website. Lovely people, very nice manager. Thank you Sandat for a memorable stay. "The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Deserves it’s great reputation"
"Lovely decor, lovely building, excellent staff, convenient quiet location, great breakfasts. Don't use Mr Noi Monyoopanow as your limousine driver. He chain talked to a variety of women using several phones for the whole trip to Hua Hin, often driving fast one handed. Front office and all staff were extremely helpful, and fantastic. Great breakfast. In retrospect we should have had dinner here, rather than a very underwhelming expensive meal at Nahm (which I wouldn't recommend - see separate review). Would suggest that each room have it's own iron and ironing board, although this was quickly provided. We also asked that our room be sprayed against mosquitoes after we left in the evening, although we had no problem with mosquitoes, just noticed loosely fitting balcony doors. Pool area was nothing special, but adequate, and we certainly enjoyed a quick dip in the pool at the end a day out, before getting ready for dinner. Would highly recommend, and we hope to stay again when next in BKK."Manukan Island Resort: "Paradise"
"This property is absolutely beautiful and it's the only property on Manukan Island. There's a private beach area for guests and a public beach area for day guests. Once I stepped off of the ferry and walked along the boardwalk towards reception, I immediately felt at ease. I spent a lot of time at the reception area because it was the only place where I could access the wifi. Everyone was absolutely pleasant, extremely kind and helpful. The suite is my favorite part and I couldn't believe how spacious the suite was for little 'ol me. I recorded a walking tour of the room because I was in shock by how beautiful the views were and how much space was allotted. Breakfast was amazing because the options were endless including traditional Malaysian dishes, a juice bar, an omelette and soup station, etc. The food options for lunch and dinner were also great. My only complaint was that I couldn't stay longer but I certainly hope I can come back. Everyone that I met was a gem, the space was beautiful, the food and drinks were also great. <3"Babe: "Ludicrous name but delicious food"
Visited here with colleagues to celebrate the end of a tough project. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the tasting menu - it was very sophisticated! The view is also something to behold as well. It was pricy, but it’s not everyday you get to eat such good quality food, while looking at Kuala Lumpur in the distance.Arumdalu: "Great experience"
"The best resort on the island, the beach at the back of the resort is totally private, feels like i owned the beach by myself, food at the resort is great, just abit pricey for belitung island... But so far this is the best experience ... "4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Paradise!"
We stayed 4 days in those amazing ecolodges. You are in the middle of the jungle and the hotel is sustainable, eco friendly + has the best staff ever. You are taking part of a big project that is trying to preserve and maintain the local ecosystem. Anna (the owner), you are the perfect host and what you are doing is remarkable. Please try your best to keep this place away from mass tourism. The food, massage and the facilities are 5 stars. Thank you all for the best stay of our trip in Cambodia.
