I tool a friend who lives in Bali here as a thank you for being a guide whiktin Bali. We are both foodies and have eaten meals at some good restaurants, i.e. Ramsay, rhodes, river cafe, boulud, tragebuches, blaue ente, vong, warning, mpw and I can state this was the best meal I have had in years. Save you pennies and go for the full tasting menu with accompanied drinks. Also I recommend lunch as then you can slowly see and recover in the early evening!!!David’s Kitchen: "Simply winderful"

Tiger Mountain Lodge is amazing. Though access may be slightly problematic for the less agile such as myself, any efforts are certainly worthwhile. My room (7) had breathtaking views over the mountains and (very kindly ) the weather Gods lifted the clouds enabling the magnificent scene to unfold. Though this reality was obviously outside the control of the lodge management , the friendly and efficient care that was delivered throughout the stay at the lodge. My food requirements are unusual to say the least, but an understanding staff managed to accommodate those peculiarities very efficiently. All aspect of care lived up to or exceeded expectations and Grateful thanks are due to a very efficient team.Rachamankha: "A perfect oasis in the city"
It is everything that all the positive reviews have been about. The perfect getaway for someone who needs a beautiful ambience, and oh so different from the cookie cutter chains with their flashy marble foyers and crystal chandeliers. Truly a boutique hotel. Small enough for personal service but large enough to provide all the comforts needed. A beautifully maintained garden, extremely tasteful. A credit to the owners who I gather live within the compound. Incidentally it is well located, within the old walled city. Highly recommended.Mie Cafe: "Fantastic dinner!"
"Just wrapped up dinner here. The food was creative and delicious (prawns with pumpkin curry was the highlight for me), and the service was prompt and friendly. The dining area had a lovely ambiance. The chef even came out to personally ensure we were enjoying our dinner. It was a great way to spend the evening- I'd recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and relax after a day of temple sightseeing!"The Cabochon Hotel: "Simply Amazing"
Stayed at this property for a vacation in Thailand on the reference of a local. It is tucked away off of a busy street and has the look and feel of a 1950s mansion. Such a cool property with amazing service and the feel of being at home. The rooftop pool was awesome and a treat to start each day. Would definitely stay here again!Villa Song Saigon: "Great"
"Stayed here two days for business to avoid the usual ""Hilton, Hyatt ,,,"" routine and didnt regret that. The position to the river is unique altough if you are heading for the city centre you have to face either a boat trip or a longer taxi lift. Rooms are modern, sleeping quality very good. The restaurant cant decide what is the focus on (they call it fusion). Breakfast only week point I can name (e.g. if you order ""bread basket"" you would expect butter, jam etc coming along with this, but here it means only bread so you have to ask for every item). """The Blue Mansion"" was built by a very wealthy Chinese businessman in the late 19th / early 20th century, Cheong Fact Tze himself. There is a wealth of information about the house on hand, including a small interpretive display and guided tours. The house was restored by heritage architects over 5 or 6 years in the 1990's when it was in danger of being torn down. The small courtyards are a great place to lounge and soak up the atmosphere. Location is good - nearby Chinatown and the waterfront. Staff were very helpful and I was regularly given a friendly greeting by Shiro at the reception desk. There is a food court next door which makes a bit of noise at night but it didn't bother me much. "The rooms at Samanea are all villas decorated in traditional / colonial style, full of character and charm. My villa had an extremely comfortable king-sized bed, a lounge area with comfy sofa, and a full-sized desk for working. There was also a fully furnished patio that looked out toward the pool and the sea. The best part about the room was the bathroom. The toilet and sink area had a glass wall to the outdoor shower and soaker tub. A tall stone wall protected my privacy but I could bathe under the stars. Breakfast and all food at the restaurant was fantastic and they are in the process of changing their menu to include more vegan and vegetarian options, too! Champagne cruise on the sunset was just amazing! The weather was not that good as we wanted to but we said to ourselfs “it’s just a rain, let’s drink champagne!” and have enjoyed this experience very much. Absolutely everything: staff, service, boat, champagne, snacks were perfect! This is very posh! Highly recommend!
