Cuca: "You MUST eat here!"
The foodie experience at this restaurant was the best I've ever had. The Bali Breakfast is the dish you must experience - I say experience because that's exactly what it is; a visual and taste sensation.Villa Song Saigon: "Awesome!"
"We arrived at villa song to a warm welcome, we booked a sanctuary suite which was very spacious and high ceilings with a lovely standard! The hotel is French colonial architecture which is gorgeous, we was also welcomed at breakfast by the manager Yega who gave us some interesting info of places to see and do in Saigon which we did and much appreciated, thank you Yega. Overall the place is gorgeous and in a great location on the river Siagon and you must take the complementary speedboat to the city!!! :)"The Cabochon Hotel: "Outstanding and charming"
Amazingly beautiful colonial style hotel where every single detail has been meticulously thought through. Great staff, beautiful breakfast and the most charming bar with crazy good gin and tonics. Incredible to find such a zen like oasis in the middle of Sukhumvit and all it offers.Satri House: "Very good hotel, phenomenal staff"
"I truly felt like I was a guest of the staff of this hotel. I must have had 5 conversations with members of staff where I learnt a lot about Lao culture. The hotel itself is very nice, a couple of small pools and a decent restaurant. My room was huge and very nice, it's important to remember that you're at a boutique hotel, not the Four Seasons. As others have written, the staff took care of my every need, they arranged a last minute excursion for me and somehow would manage to set up my room for sleeping the second that I left it for more than 10 minutes. The only negative is that it's a but of a walk into town in the Lao heat, but other that that it's a solid 4 star hotel."Rachamankha: "Serene Refined Hotel"
"Ratchamankha, Chiang Mai, Thailand The photos posted by other travelers hardly do justice to this exquisite jewel box of a hotel. Our family of four was lucky enough to stay in one of the newly opened two-bedroom suites. A long, covered balcony, complete with a silk-cushioned bench, runs the length of the suite, providing a view to the serene courtyard and pool below. A spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated living room divides the two bedrooms. Breakfast is served around the corner in a separate courtyard. Heaven! In the evening, a fire is lit and on special nights a local musician plays traditional melodies. Asian antiques and art are displayed throughout the property. An army of workers tend the garden and the buildings, keeping everything in immaculate shape. Additionally, the owner employs many Burmese refugees, trains them, houses them, and pays them well. You can feel wonderful about supporting such a hotel. What a find!!!! "Villa Song Saigon: "Luxury and serenity with wonderful service"
I can't say enough good things about this small luxury hotel. I wanted a short break at a boutique hotel and Villa Song Saigon surpassed my expectations. From the moment I arrived where I was upgraded to the Imperial Suite (with two private terraces, one overlooking the Saigon River and the other, a beautiful pool) to the spa (fabulous hot stone massage by Duyen) to the amazing and friendly service from every member of the hotel staff I encountered to the superb breakfasts on the banks of the Saigon River, afternoon cheese platters and great dinners, I spent four idyllic days here. The hotel is in District 2 so a little way out of the crazy bustle of Ho Chi Minh City centre but very easy to get to either by a frequently running shuttle bus from the hotel or taxi. But once you get to the hotel it is quite hard to tear yourself away. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have music in the spa if guests want it. I highly recommend Villa Song Saigon and if I come back to Ho Chi Minh City I will definitely stay here again.Mathis Retreat: "An absolute gem!"
"Ubud is a very busy place, but once you get through the unassuming entrance on the road, you're in what feels like a very different (and much better) world. We were there for 2 nights in August (sorry for the delay in reviewing!) before going to Gili Meno. Allow for 2 hours travelling time from the airport and Padang Bai; traffic is bad here. The views are just lovely, as are the staff and Manageress, and the food is genuinely outstanding - the chefs are some of the best we have ever encountered, and we've travelled a fair amount. If you wish to have dinner in the hotel, make sure you book a table at breakfast (also very yummy) as it is often booked by people staying elsewhere, such is the popularity. It's not a big place at all though, so don't worry about it being lively. Then there's the Mojitos - oh my god!!! Quite probably the best in the world! The rooms are exceptionally well proportioned and beautifully decorated; the bathroom is VERY luxurious (in an authentic way) too. The beds are supremely comfy, and the air con is good. The hotel operates a shuttle service to Ubud Central, although it is just about walkable within 40 minutes or so; we did this when traffic was at a standstill due to an Independence Day parade. Bugs and critters were not a problem during our stay. Suitable for families with well-behaved children."Dewakan: "Wong family"
Excellent. Family of 9 enjoyed the dishes very much and also like the ambient. Although out of the city centre in Shah Alam in the KDU University College campus, it worth the trip!Mudanwan Villa: "Quiet, beautiful, comfortable"
We stayed in Mudanwan 2 nights. Everything is great, besides you may have some same food in these two days... We went fishing, swimming, stayed in our private outdoor hot spring pool, sit in the 2F library you can see the whole landscape of the place. My little boy loves the ducks most, he always looks at the ducks and chases them, ha... This place is kind of far from north Taiwan. If you go there from north Taiwan, remember to reserve 2-3 nights.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A few days to chill"
"Well... I could say I hated the place... to keep u all away... so I can keep it all to myself.... I just loved it... So historic, original, wonderful staff, huge rooms all fully restored in modern luxury and the whole place with old/antique furniture... I was in my element... elegant, traditional. Fantastic food, ( the dining room ceiling looks ridiculous) but the rest is just gorgeous... It is the middle of downtown GT (George Town), lots of transport options, and walking to discover the rest of GT is easy... The staff are wonderful... I just loved it I would not take kids there... destroy the atmosphere.... but I am sure kids would be welcome.... if necessary A very, very special place... If u are into history and love the old... you will, like I love the place... do go....."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
