Samanea Beach Resort: "True Service in a Relaxing Getaway"
Samanea is delightful and the staff is very responsive to any questions or requests you may have. They truly desire to respond to your needs. We did a package for two vegetarians and the chef designed meals for us that were delcious - so much food! Lovely bungalows with mosquito nets. Charming woman who gives the spa treatments - her reflexologies and body wraps are so relaxing. Jonathan was very helpful in helping design the package and answer any questions we had. We had dinner on the beach, on the rooftop. Took a tour of the town. They have computers and a printer for your use. It was a peaceful stay where we could not have asked for anything more.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Magical stay!"
"We spent 2 nights at Tiger Mountain but it could have been much more. Superb stay from our first pick up and welcome to our goodbye. From Pokhara it is about 40 min drive up the mountain on a typical Nepali road but then you arrive in an tranquil oasis where you will only hear the birds. Lodge is located on a mountain with sweeping views over Pokhara valley on both sides. Rooms have amazing views towards the Himalayas, perfect for sunrise watching (they will serve coffee/tea and cookies at about 5.30 in your room to accompany the sunrise) Upon our arrival, the lunch table was set on the terrace with a view to the Himalayas and we were served delicious Nepali dishes. Tea was served in the afternoon with home made snacks. Followed by happy hour at 6 and diner around 7.30. Again with delicious Nepali dishes. Had amazing jackfruit curry, some sort of stir fried ferns, spinach dish, home made chutneys, water buffalo curries. I think I would have exploded after a week at the lodge as I had to finish everything. Quality of the food is fantastic, all organic, grown in the area, fresh and everything home made. Even the herbal tea came from their own garden. In the morning there was home made yoghurt with homemade muesli, homemade jams & preserves, honey from Pokhara, homemade bread. Yummy. The lodge offers guides to take you for walks according to your liking. We did a village walk around the hotel and the next day a ridge walk where we had beautiful views over the rice terraces, villages and Himalayas. The guide took us through villages and explained about village life. Staff at the lodge is fantastic: friendly, helpful and offering great service. There is a swimming pool with again magical views, certainly in the early morning you can see the Himalayas reflected in the water. It is a shame it is so far away from Hong Kong otherwise I would be back for a relaxing long weekend. And there is only wifi in the lobby (if it is working, this is Nepal) so relaxing is really good as you can't connect to the outside world! "Ein herrliches Ambiente mitten in der Stadt. Wunderschöne Gartenanlage mit von der UNESCO klassifizierten Seerosenteichen. Hervorragende laotische Küche, die Menüs bieten einen gute Auswahl verschiedener typischer Gerichte. Alles frisch zubereitet und hervorragende Qualität. Die Preise sind gehoben, aber angemessen. Personal sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und professionell. "The Cabochon Hotel: "Stylish Boutique hotel"
In the middle of Bangkok we found this stylish Hotel in an old Colonial style Building. The staff was very friendly and after running around in Bangkok the Swimmingpool on the rooftop was a blessing. The room was huge and the furniture very stylish like the Hotel. A must stay for people who like to be in the middle of this city and want to enjoy the amenities of a quite Boutique Hotel. A lot of good Bars and Restaurants are just around the corner.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Lovely hotel in every way"
Just had 4 nights at Cheong Fatt Tze. Beautiful hotel - historic, atmospheric - I constantly wanted to take more photos. Our room was large with great attention to historic feel. The breakfasts were lovely - fruit, varied selections of Asian and Western food - gorgeous dining room too. Staff great. A wonderful experience.Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Perfect last 2 nights in Seoul at this hidden gem"
"I stumbled upon RakKoJae as I was searching for unique experiences in Seoul. Sure enough, staying at RakKoJae was one of the highlights of my first trip to South Korea. I thought spending my last 2 nights here before I fly home would wrap up my travel great, and it did. Now where do I begin? The hanok guesthouse - Simply beautiful, tasteful, and serene. First night I stayed in Master bedroom, second night in Far bedroom. I love both rooms. But beyond the rooms, RakKoJae really gives you a wholesome experience. You aren’t staying in rooms. You are staying in a beautiful hanok house The experience - The natural jade flooring is awesome. It gives you the cool relaxing feel, especially in spring/summer season. The hinoki wooden bathtub is also great. The Korean breakfast is one you have to try in the morning (it’s really good). You could also try on hanbok during breakfast time. Fun to wear it, take photos, with hanok environment as Instagram-worthy-background. Don’t forget to try out the yellow mud sauna. I stayed for about 30 mins, sweating but feeling anxious at the same time. It was really soothing that I almost fell asleep! The staff - Mr. Kim, the General Manager, was really attentive and helpful since the beginning of reservation, during my stay, until bidding me farewell as I leave RakKoJae for the airport. Thank you for your kindness and your hospitality On my last night, it was drizzling in Seoul. Relaxing on RakKoJae’s patio, reading a book, and enjoying the house’s evening view? Couldn’t ask for a better experience. I shall return one day and try Patio Room next time :)"Dewakan: "Amazing restaurant – GO!"
"When we watched John Torode's Malaysia programme back in the UK , he showed this place and so we booked it for our last night in KL. I have to admit as it got closer I got concerned that we had made a mistake. No malaysian we spoke to in KL had heard of the place and it soon became apparent that it was on the outskirts of town, a good hour away from central KL and forms part of the KDU campus. I need not have worried however. The whole experience from start to finish was brilliant. The service was attentive, the team enthusiastic about the food and the food itself was inventive and interesting. We had the 17 course tasting menu and every dish was different and innovative in its use of traditional Malay ingredients. Notable dishes included a perfectly rendered crispy duck skin over succulent rare duck meat, as well as the almost Heston Blumenthal like childish fun of putting together the slow baked red snapper in broth dish. There was only one dish we didn't particularly enjoy, which was the prawn dish and we found the texture of the raw prawns a bit odd, but it was clever cooking nonetheless with the flavour combination. This place is worthy of a Michelin star. My only concern is that being so far out of town and having only 10 tables, it is not getting enough clientele. So please, please if you enjoy inventive and innovative cuisine, go to this restaurant."Tugu Lombok: "A slice of tropical paradise"
"In a 3-week adventure around Bali and Lombok, the Tugu Lombok was our absolute favourite place that we stayed, hands down. The resort is stunning, the grounds are impeccable, the rooms are extraordinarily beautiful. The beach is white sand and turquoise waters. Every meal we ate (in both restaurants) was absolutely delicious. The breakfast spread is fantastic (with a particularly amazing fruit plate) and the assortment of snorkelling equipment, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards is a great way to pass afternoons on the water. Things are laid out so that you never feel crowded. But by far the best thing about Tugu Lombok is the staff. Everyone, from Sharon, the GM, and Henry, her right hand man, to the spectacular restaurant staff, spa team, housekeeping staff, and security, were the epitome of hospitality. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and polite, and everything they do is heartfelt and done with a smile. They anticipated our every need before we even expressed them and made us feel enormously welcome during our entire stay. We can't recommend this spot enough to anyone travelling to Lombok (and even if you're not, you might want to change your plans to include the Tugu). One small note on rooms - we had read through previous TripAdvisor reviews and decided to take the overwhelmingly consistent advice to splurge on a Bhagavat Gita suite and we were completely blown away by the beauty and design of these extraordinary villas. "Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Fantastic experience would highly recommend"
"We have just stayed for 2 nights at Tiger Mountain and we wished we had stayed longer. Our stay was so welcoming and attentive a truly wonderful experience. We enjoyed great food and attentive and faultless staff who really looked after us. Our accommodation provided everything we needed and we like its eco friendliness, the hot water bottles in bed at night were a lovely touch. Pre dinner drinks in front of a roaring log fire with fellow guests was enjoyable. We particularly loved our helicopter trip to Annapurna Base Camp - what an experience (very reasonably priced if you can share the experience with fellow guests like we did) and our birding and village walk was enjoyable and informative. Tiger Mountain has wonderful staff, and great guides. We would highly recommend the experience and let the hotel organise all your activities as they know what they are doing! Outstanding views and a morning wake up call with tea and homemade biscuits to watch the sunrise over the mountains was perfect. D Don’t hesitate just book it! Thank you Marcus and all the team."Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Just… wow!"
"Speechless. Following a 3 hour drive north from the airport and then getting onto a small boat at a dock in the middle of nowhere, you get ferried away from the mainland for an hour and a half. Making your way past small islands and following a remote coast of golden sand you arrive on the beach where you wade through the warm shallow clear water to get to the jeep. Being whisked off to a remote hut, there is just your hut which is about 50 mtrs away from the next. Peace. Quiet. Nature. Sand. Sun. Remoteness. 100 mtrs from the beach, the views are endless. Waking up, going to sleep, just the noise of birds, bugs, a dog in the distance, monkeys and waves crashing. (...)Taking a canoe down at the other end, it's possible to paddle out to another small island off shore. Or walk around to one of the other very tiny resorts. If you want nightlife, shopping, clubs, bars, socialising, fine food, luxury accommodation, cleanliness and an abundance of modern comforts - this is not for you. If you want adventure, solitude, being with nature, charming and quaint cabins, beach and being undisturbed then book straight away. I would love to go back."
