Sukoon Houseboat: "Beautiful Houseboat – Wonderful Staff"
"I booked a ""tailor-made"" Sukoon experience, including a ""3 days camp & hike"" in the Aru Valley, a local hiking tour outside of Srinagar, and a 3 nights stay on the houseboat. First of all - the planning and organisation of all these individual parts of my ""Sukoon experience"" was perfectly well done by the Sukoon people. The camp in Aru Valley was luxurious with a ""real bed"" in my spacious tent, carpets, a little table with a mirror and bed side tables. Just outside the sleeping tent there was a ""outhouse"" tent, with a comfy toilet in it, and a washing tent, with towels and hot & cold water in buckets. While Manzoor and Rashid guided me on my hikes and took me to many beautiful spots in the Aru and Lidder Valley, Amin, the cook, prepared the most delicous Indian meals I could imagine. What he created in his pretty basic kitchen tent was just amazing - and I enjoyed every bite of all his heavenly curries and dishes, especially after a day-long hike.... I felt pampered from A-Z. Then I returned to Srinagar where the rest of the Sukoon Crew welcomed me very warmly. The boat itself is a jewel in Dal Lake - with beautiful wooden walls, ceilings and floors, spacious rooms, indoor dining room as well as a deck with an outdoor dining area and sunbeds/umbrellas for relaxing hours. The houseboat is reachable by the Sukoon´s own engine-driven Shikara. Every time you need a ride, the Shikara is made ready for you within minutes. The soul of Sukoon, and what makes this beautiful houseboat so homely, is the Sukoon people, with Bashir, Ashiq, Passang, Bela, and of course the kitchen crew around chef Amin. They just do all they can (and even more) to make every stay on Sukoon a very memorable one. They all live the great Kashmiri hospitality - and guest satisfaction always comes first. Srinagar and Kashmir are so well worth a visit - and I (solo female traveller) felt 100 % safe, wherever I went, in town as well as in the mountains. So - go ahead - and enjoy and discover this unique place!!! THANK YOU dearest Sukoon-housboat-team for making my stay such a wonderful one. (One thing about Reservation/Administration that is done by the headoffice in Delhi - Please be careful when making international bank transfers as in my case the money never arrived. Even though the problem with the payment is not yet solved I am full of admiration how the manager of Sukoon in Srinagar, Mr. Muslim Naqash, is handling this case. THANK YOU!!!)"The Island Lodge: "Wonderful Mekong holiday"
Wonderful Mekong escape just two hours from Saigon. A totally different world watching the boats go by, bicycling on Unicorn island on our own or in nearby Ben Tre province through cacao and coconut farms, a short boat ride away, arranged through the hotel. Michel and Francoise are delightful hosts, as was the manager, Emi. Resort is somewhat pricey for Vietnam standards, but worth it. Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and either have river views or are garden bungalows, both with terraces. Pool and jacuzzi are nice and food is delicious. At least the duck, beef carpaccio, seafood soup, gazpacho... All the breads and pastries are homemade. Wine prices are reasonable by the glass or bottle, and corkage fee if bring own is 200,000.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Luxury Hideaway next to rice paddies & jungle"
We stayed in one of the villas which shares a pool with 3 others. The accommodation was gorgeous - bedroom above plus semi open air bathroom and day bed area downstairs and beautiful decor, art & landscaping throughout the property. The boutique nature of the venue meant that the restaurant & lounge were calm but service and food still excellent. Given that this is nestled into the jungle, frogs & other wildlife were pretty noisy through the night but that added to the charm for us. We also enjoyed a private yoga class with a super teacher in the yoga pavilion early morning.Arumdalu: "A Treasure wrapped in natural beauty"
"My business partner and I were on our third trip to Belitung and wanted to travel down to the south side to experience the Arumdalu resort that we kept hearing about. We were greeted by Hendrik in the morning, their driver, who was prompt and very helpful in getting us down to the resort in just over an hour. My highlights of the trip was experiencing the Beach, Food, and Culture. The beach is expansive, white, and calming. The private cove allows you to truly relax and enjoy the cooler ocean breezes. You don't want to miss climbing the large granite rock on the right side of the beach to experience some great views, snap some selfies, and just be amazed at the beauty. The food was a gastronomical delight. We had the privilege of staying at the resort when the owners were present and Albert took special care in sharing with us the story of how they created each menu item, along with the specially crafted plates that are unique to each main dish. Finally, we enjoyed learning more about the culture...from hearing stories of how Belitong got it's name (Bali yang dipotong), seeing Batik be made, to the diverse flowers, fruits, and vegetables they are growing in the area. The rooms were well constructed and furnished charmingly. The plunge pool was refreshing and make sure you check out their short nature hike through the jungle on their property. The staff were always willing to help, but were never overbearing. We look forward to returning when the cultural village is up and running."Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "A touch of Heaven ❤️"
"As a Family of 10 in the age between 8 and 70 (three generations), we were very excited and a bit nervous if the GB was able to fullfill our needs and interests. ALL our worries were proved wrong!! This is the Best place We've ever been!! No iPads, no ""it's boring"", just ""beeing"" just eat - live - pray ❤️❤️❤️ To stay at the GB You have to appreciate and worship Nature, silence and beeing together alone. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"Inle Princess Resort: "Outstanding"
"Another wonderful stay at Inle Princess Resort. The review is rather similar to previous ones, but we find everything at the resort just excellent, the chalets, restaurant, spa, bar, the newly redesigned gift shop, the swimming pool and again, above all, the people. Several staff members speak some basic German and Spanish and I encourage guests to give them a chance to practice their language skills. Rent a bicycle and explore the countryside, nearby villages, markets, or the Maing Thouk forest monastery, just ask at the front desk. The food, whether Burmese or Western, was always delicious. We simply followed the recommendations of the chef (Nwe Oo) or of one of her assistants (Mo Kham). The homemade Frangipani ice cream is among our favourite desserts. The special dinner on the ""honeymoon island"" just for us was an absolute highlight. Very impressive is the social responsibility of the resort owner family, supporting the local population in many ways, e.g., most recently, construction of a new high school nearby (""Bamboo School"") is under way."MesaStila: "Nature and Forrest Conservation"
This is a private villa with very expensive food prices. Perfect for honeymoon or stress relieve. If you are no a hotel guess than your access only to the restaurant. So the hotel guess will have their privacy. Professional management. Very large area. There are fishing pond. Tennis court. Swimming pool. You can hear the bird singing in the forrest. Very quite and relaxing.Cuca: "I proud with their service. The front office staff are warmly and nice"
The best spanish restaurant. Many spanish visitor come to this place when visited bali. They serve us very well and clean are. You can enjoy the food on indoor area or outdoor area. I like the outdoor because the garden view are awesome and many lightning on the skyLocavore: "FANTASTISK!"
The Island Lodge: "Serenity"
"Recently went here a second time and it pure bliss. The resort is stunning, beautifully designed accompanied by good service and a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere. We live in Saigon and we usually travel outside the country when we have any spare time but we make time to come to Island Lodge because it's that's great. We're actually going for our third visit in less than a week. Can't wait. "
