Tugu Bali: "Hotel with old charm"
"Hotel Tugu Bali is located on the shores of Canggu Beach at one of the most romantic places in the island. We stayed here a few nights over the Nyepi day, which is the Balinese day of silence and it was an incredible experience. The staff members have done everything to make this time pleasant for all the guests and we immediately felt like a part of a family. The mission of Tugu luxury art hotels is to bring back to life the art, soul and romance of Indonesia's long forgotten years. The hotel owner is an antique collector for many years and all the priceless pieces of Indonesian antiques and artworks are beautifully positioned around the hotel, blending perfectly with the hotel ambience. From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by the hotel staff members. They send a car to pick us up from our previous hotel with delicious fruit baskets to enjoy during the ride. A lovely touch! So, from the moment we arrived to the hotel we knew that this would be an unforgettable experience. The hotel manager took us around the hotel and explained us about different antiques and all the special pieces that the hotel possess. At the lobby entrance you stumble upon an impressive wooden giant Garuda, which was carved from a 120-years-old tree. Around the grand lobby are tropical gardens with beautiful lotus ponds and small paths that leads to the resort villas. We stayed in spacious Rejang Suite, which was located on the upper floor of a charming Javanese house. The suite had dark timber interior and was decorated with different artworks. The room had a working area, separate shower and bathroom, a big carved four-poster bed, a terrace with a private spa area and a unique sunken bathtub with amazing views over the Indian Ocean. A dining concept at Hotel Tugu Bali is completely different than in any other hotel we have stayed at. You can choose to dine whenever and where ever you like. We usually had our breakfast in the lobby with lovely view of the garden. The breakfast was a la carte and the food was delicious. They also served the high tea with different sweets every day. In the evening we have planned a romantic dinner Picnik in Bed, but because it was raining, we had to move it from the beach to the 300-years-old Bale Sutra Temple. We felt like a royalty sitting at this big table where many, many years before the royal Balinese kings had their dinner served. Amazing! Hotel Tugu Bali is a special place, it gives you the real Bali feeling. So, if you are looking for an authentic and luxurious hotel in Bali, this is a place for you."Anopura: "Absolute gem, far from the madding crowd!"
"Fabulously stylish place in the countryside outside of Jaipur. The staff were wonderful and felt like we were in our own private home. Dinner was delicious and was served candlelit in the pool house overlooking the beautiful pool and gardens. But shush don't tell anyone or it may be fully booked next time we want to go!"jing: "Fabulous hotel"
"Jing's Residence is in the medieval part of PingYao and is beautifully restored. The staff was very gracious and attentive and the food was delicious. I had a wonderful massage that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to PingYao. "Satri House: "Un havre de paix"
"Arrived for 4 days in Luang Prabang we stayed 3 nights at Satri House. This hotel in the colonial charm only deserves compliments. A very original architecture with large rooms decorated former local objects. You feel more in a big mansion than in a traditional hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean, wooden floors and a large balcony. Very quiet, a nice staff and very caring. The breakfast (Western or Lao) was plentiful and very fresh. 2 swimming pools (a bit small) but with a large green space surrounded by large tropical trees to relax. You can borrow bikes for walking and / or go into town. Would recommend without reservation! "Inle Princess Resort: "A Magical Place"
From being "driven" into the hotel by a one-leg oarsman to enjoying the palacial dining room, this is a magical place. The contrast between life here, and the abject poverty in Myanmar fomented by years of dictatorship is instructive.Sandat Glamping Tents: "HEAVEN in ubud"
stayed here for 3 nights, and could have stayed for 3 months. loved sleeping in the middle of the rice paddies outside of ubud. the staff was very welcoming and the decor was incredible. highly highly recommend!Akame: "Superb Taiwan native style grill"
"Hidden in the mountain of Pingdong Taiwan The chefs are well experienced with several famous bistros and finally got back home for their native town Hard to imagine there's such delicate high end grill restaurant in such country side of south Taiwan. Menu differs everyday, planned by chef according to the very fresh materials Grilled bbq food is superb! Every dish are delicious, I like the pork-type, and fresh seafood fish Their signature dessert is the cinnamon sticks, It's on pricey side, but definitely worth the money, Not taking any drop in guests, and it's Super difficult to make reservation; usually takes a month or so in advance; Service is superb, they also provide some combination of wine; A must go restaurant, it's very far, but you will find it worth the journey"Locavore: "A wonderful experience."
"Fantastic fine dinning in the heart of Ubud. The seven courses plus matching drinks were excellent and delicious, as was the pre dinner 'snacks'. The highlights for me were 'into the sawah' and 'bubur sumsum'. The service was outstanding with each dish and drink fully explained by the waitress. My partner and I left full and very satisfied. The experience is not cheap by any means but certainly worth treating yourself when in Ubud or Bali."Rachamankha: "Imagine you’ve got a very wealthy friend"
".... and this friend invites you to stay at their house in Chiang Mai while they're away. You arrive crunching over the white gravel to a beautiful grand house, away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. Your friend puts their staff at your disposal and says, feel free to use the pool, no one else does, oh and there's a decanter of brandy in the library if you fancy it while reading some books and magazines. This is what it's like staying at Rachamankha. Plus: Library! Breakfast (beautiful, tasty and endless)! Pool! Ambience! Downsides: rooms are OK, but no views, woken by dogs barking from neighbouring property, shower head too low if you're over 5ft10 and you can hear your neighbour going to the toilet in the next door room. Maybe I'm being too picky ...."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Exceeded expectations"
"Brill stay. Staff, food, views. Staff did all they could to make it a pleasant stay. Tum (resort manager) even came to get us from the airport You do need transport to travel around but we just chilled on site. Private pool is a bonus and self cleaning. Food is priced reasonably. Although its a limited menu the food is tasty. Really recommend 1-1 cooking classes . Take pen paper and make sure cameras charged! Private dining on the beach was fab,Faith was flexible with the menu and made sure it was how we wanted Wednesday is optional social buffet with free coctail hour (you can go for coctails and not have buffet) ,and couple of other nights has goid live music Note that its a shingle beach and only one other hotel next door has access so always quiet. Free kayaking and paddleboarding for guests Make sure you put on deet spray as theres lots of mosquitos at night. Shower wasnt too powerful but sufficient. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"
