Manukan Island Resort: "Great stay in a hillside villa"

Review by: jonny55555 | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed in a hillside villa. The villa was lovely with two balconies with amazing sea views and access to the private beach. It had all the amenities we needed. The staff are extremely helpful and polite and Ben made sure we had a great experience. The food in the restaurant was good and it has a nice atmosphere in the evening when the day trippers have headed back to KK.. There is also a house band happy to attempt any request you have.. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Sanak Retreat Bali: "INCREDIBLE!"

Review by: Charlotte M | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at Sanak in early January of 2015. Unfortunately it's taken me this long to review them! After arriving on a particularly rainy afternoon, we were greeted by the lovely staff in their bar/reception area. I was blown away by the incredible view that lay before me. The hotel is nestled right on top of farmed rice paddies so provided an amazing taste of the real Bali. The food was particularly impressive. The menu has a French/Balinese fusion twist; and every meal they served us was amazing quality. It's truly a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. I was a little worried about becoming ""bored"" due to the quite, but the constant massages, yoga and laying by the pool quickly calmed those nerves. One of the people in the group I stayed with even got the chance to work the rice fields with the locals, yet again adding to the authenticity! Couldn't recommend the place any more highly. Loved it! MesaStila: "Colonial-era dream"

Review by: sunnyside1984 | Source: Trip Advisor
This place is probably the most beautiful original place where we stayed in Indonesia. The location is just wonderful, surrounded by volcanoes and the forest, the villages around are also nice and authentic. We were based here while visiting the temples in central Java and although you need a car it's so worth it! We had booked one of their plantation villas but they upgraded us to a bigger room which was basically a house with a wonderful wooden terrace overlooking the jungle. The decor is simply amazing, it includes some antiques and follow the traditional Java style. The whole complex has been carefully renovated so that it maintains its Colonial era character and it truly does. We also had a nice walk in their coffee plantation and enjoyed the restaurant. The spa is really something else, not cheap but absolute luxury, definitely worth trying! We also found the service outstanding in every aspect, including room service. Wi-fi was also working well in the room.

Villa Song: "Double 0 Seven. Eat and sleep your heart out."

Review by: Reelale | Source: Trip Advisor
"Had the pleasure of checking in here on first visit to HCMC upon recommendation. If you want a stylish hotel with service , comfort , location & general ambience look no further. With the Saigon River flowing by, carrying all manner of traffic from vessels plying their trade to rafts of Hyacinth, one feels at peace as you sit on the terrace with a view doing your Trip A reviews. This is a cracking place, staff are great, always smiling and happy to help. A river Taxi operates from the hotel jetty to the city which transports you in pure 007 style. Has a fab pool area where you can loaf to your hearts content. Rooms are modern with all comforts attended to. Nice bathroom, everything works and more. Yes, enjoyed it here very much. An oasis of comfort, peace from the bustle and noise of the great HCMC. & life in general. "

The Village House: "Amazing retreat"

Review by: sarahhanson43 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at the Village House on 9th July for 3 nights. What can I say about this place, everything was great. The layout and decor is first grade and has the real feel of a relaxing yoga retreat. If you want 2 or 3 days simply to unwind and kick back in a rural setting with the soothing sounds of running water lapping over the pool then this is the place for you. We both fell asleep within minutes of arriving due to the relaxing ambience of the place. The food was excellent. Every one of our meals was delicious. The staff were very attentive and helpful in booking excursions or transport. There are a few good places to visit nearby. The Wetlands national park and Sarawak Cultural Village are on the doorstep and both well worth a visit. One thing to note though is that the hotel stands very much on its own without any restaurants or shops nearby (not that it matters with the good food on offer) so this is definitely a short stay place to recharge the batteries."

Satri House: "A gem"

Review by: Tony D | Source: Trip Advisor
This is my second stay at Satri House, the most beautiful hotel in and around Luang Prabang. With lovely gardens and passages that open onto lily ponds and out of the way pavilions, the colonial French buildings, rooms and hallways are filled with Buddhist statues and Chinese porcelain. My room had a deliciously comfortable king bed all the hot water you need and was kept spotless and fragrant by the wonderful hotel staff who serve excellent breakfasts (my favorite: rice noodle soup with pork), delicious luncheon salads by the pool and surprisingly good French dinners served with drinkable wine at the right temperature! This is the place to stay if you're going to the fantastic Luang Prabang Film Festival in early December or want to avoid the tourist crowds in the Old Town, just 15 minutes away on foot or 5 if you borrow a bike from the hotel. This is where I'll be staying with my friends during the LPFF in 2017. Satri House is a wonderful hotel, one of my favorites in Southeast Asia.

"This was truly a hidden gem! Beautiful Hanok with modern amenities in a tucked away quiet neighbourhood yet very close ( 8 minute walk) to subway, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. The grounds are truly magnificent! we really felt like we were back in time... so serene. We chose the traditional Korean breakfast and are so glad we did..delicious! Thank You Mr. Kim! you were truly a gracious host! We will definitely come back and have already recommended Rakkojae to our friends and family!"

Mathis Retreat: "La quiétude au rdv"

Review by: carambar14 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Accueil chaleureux, personnel souriant et attentif. Nous sommes restés 4 nuits dans ce magnifique hôtel intimiste ou la zenitude est le maître mot. Restau un peu cher mais très bon. Petit bémol pas de navette après 17h vers Ubud. Les massages sont excellents pour un prix doux. N'hésitez pas à profiter des bon conseils de Karine la directrice très sympathique, pour des excursions inoubliables. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"

Chakrabongse Villas: "Chakrabongse Villa – Royalty @ the Chao Phraya River"

Review by: Jacomo50 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"I was there for the 4th. tme in several years and it get's even better ! Chakrabongse Villa lies in my favourite part of the old city. Situated on the Rattanakosin Island @ walking distance from the pulsing food and flower market of BKK - Phak Klong Talad. Chakrabongse Villa is a very distinguished and stylised Boutique hotel and restaurant almost opposite the famous Wat Arun. The setting is gorgeous, the food is Thai and of course a little bit farang-style, but over all. To have dinner here with your friends or family is a real experience. The staff is very friendly, The wine-list could be bigger and at the end you just have to try it to to ad another experience to your life."
