Tugu Bali: "The Art, Soul and Romance of Indonesia"

Review by: luxesurfstyle | Source: Trip Advisor
"What really puts this hotel into my ‘most memorable’ category is its ability to deliver an authentic Indonesian experience, steeped in traditional culture whilst maintaining the highest degree of luxury. Nowadays that’s something that most modern hotels on the beautiful island of Bali lack. Hotel Tugu’s calming surroundings provide an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The building itself and the expansive yet intimate grounds naturally emanate a purposeful sense of romance. It was here I found a somewhat tangible soulful experience. An experience I didn’t know I was truly seeking until I was immersed in it and one that will stay with me long since my return. Hotel Tugu claims to be the Art, Soul and Romance of Indonesia and I for one wholeheartedly agree. The Walter Spies suite was my favourite, an art deco inspired room merged with Balinese themes, complete with plunge pool and private garden. Very private. Worth noting JI at Bale' Sutra 1706' is the onsite restaurant & bar. The contemporary Japanese/Chinese fusion cuisine is a commendable example of fine dining in a casual and yet classy atmosphere. It also hosts a rooftop bar with ocean views and specialized sake bar. There is an extensive choice of fine wine available (usually so hard to find in south-east Asia) and the cocktails are next level goodness."

Inle Princess Resort: "My kind of paradise"

Review by: JilH14 | Source: Trip Advisor
This resort is everything and more of what you could possibly expect for a great holiday. Contrary to most other lake resort on Inle, it is very quiet and feels very private. Rooms were amazing and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Spa in a nice setting is a plus as well.

The Hue House: "Roof restaurant Tops it in Ho Chi Min City"

Review by: advisormattaust | Source: Trip Advisor
"This roof top restaurant is a lovely spot in district 3. You wouldn't know it was there as the front of it looks like an office block. Look for the Masters Building in Tran Cao Van (just around the corner from the Novotel Hotel). Food was sensational together with great service from our waiter Anh Phuc. It has a lovely ambience and decor with a great drinks / food variety menu catering for all tastes. We went there twice whilst in HCMC, highly recommend this restaurant. We didn't book either time and was able to get in easily . My tip: try the Ga Nurong Dan Toc A Luoi - grilled Chicken"

Sanak Retreat Bali: "Stunning location & venue"

Review by: Rob P | Source: Trip Advisor
"We visited the Sanak retreat as the final leg of our Bali honeymoon. The views are stunning. The cabins are simple but have everything you need. The service & food are both excellent. We loved the place. Only thing that spoilt it a bit for us was the weather but as you can see from pics, when the sun is shining it's glorious. Highly recommended for a really relaxing few days."

The Village House: "Rest and repose, eco-luxe style"

Review by: Eing M | Source: tripadvisor.com
Have stayed here numerous times, never disappointed. Keep it up, Village House Team! Facilities are clean and spacious, quiet areas hidden away here and there for thinking or writing. Excellent food, and a pretty well-stocked recreational room. No children here, so the pool remains civilised at all times... Am looking forward to my next visit already...

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A total pleasure"

Review by: stillworkingat68 | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I are delighted to add another 5 star review. Apart from the ever friendly staff what makes Inle Heritage so special is their attention to detail. The quality of all the furnishings and fittings, the roses on the pillows at bed time and bathroom facilities. As noted elsewhere the hotel is a non profit organisation, only 6 guest villas and run for the benefit of staff training. An excellent kitchen supplied from their own vegetable gardens. Service was very efficient and a pleasure to drink the local wines.at a reasonable price - imported wines being so expensive in the country. Our two day trips to Kakku and Sankar gave a further opportunity to see more of the lake environment and Buddhist culture. The highlight of our 2 week stay in Myanmar"

Slow Villas and Spa: "3 nights – 25-27 July 2017"

Review by: Duffysgirl00 | Source: Trip Advisor
I stayed with my husband and 2 teenage children in a two bedroom villa with private pool. I can only describe Slow as, calm, instantly relaxing, bare foot luxury! Stunning bedrooms with lovely outside bathrooms. So fabulous to be in the shower looking at the incredible stars (no light pollution at all!). Sadly we only had a short stay here as our sole purpose for being on Gili Air was to complete our PADI Open Water certification. How wrong we were not to stay longer. Gili Air is quite magical. No cars or scooters. Just horse and cart or bicycles. Slow Villas is situated in the middle of the island 5 mins from the beach. Definitely the best location away from the bars dotted around the coastal path. We had early morning starts and Slow made sure we had lovely homemade muesli/fruit and yoghurt in our fridge the night before so we could have early breakfast. We borrowed bikes every day to get around. Great fun!! Our stay was so short that we didn't have time to try the spa which I'm sure would be equally wonderful. Thank you Martin and the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

Mathis Retreat: "An Oasis of Calm"

Review by: photogirlnz | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed at Mathis Retreat for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. I found the centre of Ubud very hectic and a little overwhelming but coming back to Mathis every night was heaven. Located around a 5 minute drive from the centre of Ubud, Mathis Retreat overlooks beautiful rice paddy fields and has its own enclosure for the gorgeous ducks (a personal favourite) and it was so peaceful. We stayed in a garden bungalow and it was beautiful, the decor was gorgeous, it was spacious and private. Only minor flaws, we found the lighting very dim, while romantic, it was hard to find things in the bottom of our suitcases and there was a little noise from scooters going up & down the dirt road next to the resort, but this was only minor and as that road only services other accommodation it's usually quiet from 10pm onwards. The food at Terracotta Restaurant was delicious, we loved dining for breakfast and dinner overlooking the rice paddies. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, beautiful smiling faces every time we saw them. As this is a boutique resort it isn't hugely busy like large resorts and nabbing a spot by the pool was easy, no lounge chair reserving needed! Initially I was worried about the volcanic threat at Mt Agung as the alert level had been raised to the highest level, but I needn't be, Mathis is a long way away and life in Ubud carried on as per usual.

Tugu Lombok: "Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach"

Review by: aurascudders | Source: tripadvisor.com
We stayed four nights in a Bhaghavat Gita suite which we would certainly recommend. The suite has its own garden with a large plunge pool and then you're straight onto the wonderful white sand Sire beach. The suite also has a private front garden which includes the semi-outdoor bathroom. Our daughters stayed in a kampong bungalow directly beind our villa which was perfectly adequate and a lot cheaper! You can eat on the beach or in various other places around the site - we chose the roof of the Temple-like spa. Best to book these in advance - there is no where else to eat unless you drive for about 30 mins into Sengigi - we didn't bother as the food was good and varied, with both local and international dishes (mainly Italian). The restaurant is open-sided and overlooks the pool, which was never crowded (don't think all the rooms were full when we were there). We took the dragon boat trip to snorkel at the Gili Isles which was good fun, and we saw a turtle.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "The floating lodge"

Review by: Whynotus | Source: Trip Advisor
Both peace and activity, trips, walks, exploration, all from these luxury floating "tents". People excellent, very helpful, nothing too much trouble, they even repaired my broken sandals. Great food too, in such a relaxing situation. Our only complaint was that we had not booked for longer, to appreciate all that is on offer here you need to allow enough time.
