"Hotel Tugu is a different hotel than most, and for me - better. Why? I stayed in a suite, more expensive than my custom but I loved the space, the views, the lily pond below and the style of accommodation. The idea of Tugu is that it houses a collection of antique Indonesia art - which I loved - and the hotel itself is designed to be congruent with the art it houses. So you have a place with a quality of history, of character and of class - all at the same time. It is comfortable, the facilities are excellent, I ate extremely well and most noticeably, I was so well looked after by all of the staff there. "We took 2 rooms at Villa Song - one for ourselves and another for our weekend guests. All 4 of us were very happy with the hotel. It's location on the river is excellent and peaceful. It was great to have a free boat service into and back from District 1. The pool is fabulous. The beds are exceptionally comfortable. We had 2 good dinners at the hotel. I was visiting Bangkok and wanted a peaceful break. Three days in LPB at Satri House was perfect. The staff -- at reception, restaurant, pool, were all helpful and sweet. Great location for quiet but still so close to the Night Market. Bicycling into town (bike courtesy of Satri) to explore the temples and shopping was fun. Every detail of decor and hospitality are addressed flawlessly. I will go back again, and send friends too. Completely lovely.Villa Song Saigon: "Elegant and sophisticated"
"We loved this immaculate hotel. French colonial chic, beautiful garden restaurant on the river beautifully lit at night for great dining ambience. The food was excellent and the standard of service throughout the hotel was super-friendly and efficient. A great plus is its peaceful location on the river with great views of the city, although that means that it is a bit of a trek to the centre. However, the hotel provides a free shuttle boat which makes it an enjoyable journey, and anyway, with a hotel like this, we were more than happy to enjoy the pool and dine there. Highly recommended. The hotel is perfectly located on a white sandy beach with crystal-clear waters just a stone throw away from the Gili islands. The rooms are very spacious and clean and housekeeping is paying a lot of attention to details. Breakfast is great with many choices of made-to-order dishes, dinner choices a bit limited but quality of the food is good. Highly recommend to go for the boat tour arranged by the hotel, the skippers/snorkeling guides will find the best snorkeling spots for you around the Gili islands. I visit Bangkok regularly for work and have been to many Thai restaurants but this one really stands out. We had an interesting starter, a slice of orange with some minced pork on top, Isaan sausage, a fried fish salad and a sardine salad, beef massaman curry and a crab curry. Everything was excellent!! The beef is the most tender meat in a Thai curry I have ever had and the sardine salad had such intense flavour. Slow villas is as splendid, as it's name! We were 4 friends that needed 2 days of rest and relaxation and this was the perfect place. Every time we called reception they were more than happy to help us with any request. The staff are excellent! We ordered deliver, hung out by the pool and stayed in our comfy Slow robes the 2 days. We even had the option of yoga and spa treatments. It is the perfect place to stay at on Gili Air for peace & tranquility. We can't wait to go back!!
