Glenburn Tea Estate: "A peaceful magical getaway"
"We were 4 families that stayed in Glenburn Tea Estate for 4 days from 26 th Dec to 30th Dec 2015. It was a SUPERB holiday. The property is awesome... Both the colonial bungalows are tastefully furnished.....we were blessed with clear skies on all the days and thus we were awed by the magnificent views of the Himalayas, of course the highlight being the Kanchenjunga....you feel one with nature here... The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. They've retained their old world charm. The food was great with a different cuisine being served everyday. Breakfast and lunch in the outdoors and dinner in a beautiful dining room. They even organised a lovely bonfire for us one evening! Faye and Will are lovely hosts. The staff which includes their guides, drivers, cooks, housekeeping staff... Just about everyone are fabulous. The personal attention to detail was impressive. The service faultless!!!! We spent our days hiking, fishing and just languishing on the verandah or the gardens absorbing the gorgeous view and the tranquility of Glenburn. Both our hikes, one to the suspension bridge to Sikkim and the other to the campsite at the river followed by a barbecue lunch and a game of cricket were great. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Anshuman and Husna Tara Prakash while we were in residence. They are a super couple and their all round supervision and dedication to maintaining the high standards is evident when one talks to them. The roads to and around the tea estate are bumpy but once there it is PARADISE ON EARTH. We are all looking forward to returning to Glenburn soon. A must visit for families, friends, couples or even solo travellers. Stayed December 2015, traveled with friends"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "A Stunning Place to find where your heart belongs to"
"Very accidentally and surprisingly came across 4 rivers floating lodge while cruising on Tatai river. Still remembered the feeling when the image of 4 rivers floating lodge came into my eyes, from far to close to the site, not just beautiful, but grateful to have you in this place I think the beauty of the place should be discovered by yourself,It's like for a man, you would enjoy to discover by a layer and layer : ) The most impressive part is always the people, especially the owner of 4 rivers, has been struggled a lot to help local community and kids over there, protecting the environment which makes the trip more meaningful to all the visitors. Tips for visiting 4 Rivers: - Best reason is Between October to April, if lucky enough i mean the weather, you will find a lot of fireflies looks like a Christmas tree and a lot of butterflies you have never ever seen before. - you should bring your binoculars and astronomical telescope, you could see many rare birds and gibbons - The most important FACT need to be aware is about the poor connection of the cellphone, recommend to use Melfone SIM card with better connection but not assure it is always stable. - it's like 5h30mins depart from Phnom penh to 4 rivers, 3hrs from Sihanouk ville to 4 rivers by car. Pick-up arrangement is also available for them."Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "my favourite place to stay in Bangkok"
"from the moment we walked in the door.....we fell in love with this place.....we can not recommend it highly enough! if you want something special, tucked away, unexpected with the most divine attentive staff.....this is it! we will only stay in this gorgeous hotel whenever we choose to visit this city. a very very special place indeed! the attention to detail, the drinks and cocktail choices are just perfect and the rooms to enjoy them in....are so so beautiful. a thai restaurant too with delicious food, a swimming pool, everything is here. all I can say is, we just don't want to leave.....its the perfect get away in a busy bustling city that can be very overwhelming. The Cabachon is an oasis with styling perfection. thank you for having us!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A wonderful time"
"My wife and I had the most wonderful stay at the Blue Mansion over Christmas and wanted to pass on our thank you for the hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. Our time at the mansion was that beginning of our honeymoon and we were greeted with flowers on the bed in the shape of a heart. The room was an excellent balance between heritage and modern comfort, and each time we returned to our room after exploring George Town it was an absolute joy to return as we made our way through the beautiful building to our room. The staff were amazing and genuinely happy in their work, and we looked forward to the wonderful breakfast each morning in the courtyard. For me, these breakfasts were very relaxing, the food amazing, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere just perfect. As we were spending Christmas away from home, it was lovely to receive a small gift on Christmas day. It is these little things which really stand out and remain in the memories of a stay. The cherry on top was being told we could open the back door of our room (which we were unaware existed) and be the first to use the new pool area which had been finished that very afternoon. Again, this is something we will never forget. As my wife and I sit now at a resort in Langkawai, we find ourselves thinking back to our stay and actually miss being back in George Town at the mansion. You have very special accommodation offering which we would recommend to anyone and would love to come and stay again in the future. Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"Slow Villas and Spa: "Great romantic getaway"
"Well, I will start by saying we were booked at another place on Gili Air and while it was nice, we decided to go over and take a peak at Gili Slow to see if they might have a vacancy for our second night. When we got there they had one suite available which they showed us.....it was so much better than our current place we actually went back and grabbed our bags and moved that night to Gili Slow! The service was great, the breakfast delivered to our one bedroom pool side villa was delicious and delivered at EXACTLY the time we asked for it the night before (impressive in any island destination). The open air rooms and super comfy beds and outdoor bathrooms were all great. Also, they have a great spa on site as well but book your treatments early as they book up fast! Overall just a fantastic experience in a magical place."Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Paradise!"
"We stayed here for Christmas 2017, it was our fourth visit and everything about Golden Buddha is perfect. The staff are amazing, very professional, always friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Valerie the owner has time for everyone, Massi and Theresa manage the resort to perfection and Guy at the pizza bar on the beach is fantastic, he should never be allowed to leave!!! This resort is truly unspoilt Thailand, not the place if you want nightlife but if you are looking for relaxation and to completely chill out this is THE place to go. You will not be disappointed, it exceeds all expectations. All of the houses are individual, we were a party of six so Bann Mangorn was perfect for us, three bedrooms, three bathrooms a wonderful balcony with sea views to relax on. All the banns are extremely clean, mosquito nets are over all the beds and all have outside areas to sit and relax, some with hammocks. The food menu changes everyday always with an excellent choice. Christmas Eve celebrations started with cocktails on the beach beside a huge bonfire, there was a wonderful buffet with so many choices, Entertainment followed by local school children and staff, then down onto the beach to light lanterns and watch them float across the bay. A truly magical evening. The beaches are pristine clean, the front beach is shallow and perfect for children, the other beach gently slopes and is great for swimming. The only downside to this beautiful island is that all to soon it is time to leave. If you are fortunate enough to visit this island you will not be disappointed. Golden Buddha Beach Resort really is a little bit of paradise."Maison Polanka: "Personal service in a green oasis"
"Where else will you find hotel staff that welcome you back after a warm bike trip with cold towels and a smile? This is what makes Maison Polanka special; the personal touch. Every small request is taken care of. Room is gerat, pool fabulous and the food super yummy. I casually mentioned that my husband and I were on holidays for our wedding anniversary and just before we left, we received a Congratulations card, signed by all staff. Super sweet!"The Village House: "Relaxing romantic retreat"
"My boyfriend and I drove down to this getaway after an afternoons walk around Bako park. We found this place through agoda and thought we should give it a shot. Fair warning, the place is very hidden and it does not look like much from the outside. There is no sign at the gate, but since it was google-able, we called the hotel straightaway to get clarifications on the place. Sure enough we found the place! When we arrived, we thought maybe we would be the only ones there, because of how isolated it was... but come dinner time, a few other couples came out of their rooms.. dinner was delicious The staff was polite and kind. However I must commend the service and kindness they gave. We checked out and left for kuching city and had forgotten my shoes behind. One of the staff offered to bring them to town as he was going to the main office. I was sooo thankful for that! Was pretty bummed in the car thinking we had to drive 50mins up to Santubong again and back down to town again. So, thank you very much for bringing my shoes to me! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"The Island Lodge: "A charming adress in Mekong"
After a vibrant week end in Saigon, the island lodge is the perfect place to be : stunning view on the mekong river, just wildness around, an amazing lodge with only 12 bedrooms, lovely decorated in the spirit of the old 'indochine', superb bathroom and a terrace on the river to relax. The swimming pool is beautiful, cristal clear, and you can enjoy a jacuzzi, a sauna and also a typical spa for great vietnamese massages. Michel and Francoise, the french owners will ensure that everything is made for you with a true sign of details and perfection. If you want to pick a unique adress along the Mekong, the island lodge is the place to be ! We left by boat to Cai be and the lodge had organized a nice pack lunch on the boat....what a pleasure !Villa Song Saigon: "An excellent small hotel with everything you need"
We have just returned from Vietnam, having had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Villa Song was a delight. Overlooking the river, an oasis of calm in an otherwise frenetic city. The rooms had everything one might need, the hotel had a good sized swimming pool and an excellent restaurant. The staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. A shuttle boat into the city centre got around most of the traffic problems. All in all, full marks.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
