The River Resort: "Wonderful surprise"
Stayed several days at The River Resort. About as nice an experience as one could imagine. Food terrific, staff wonderful, rooms very comfortable... a great place to stay if you are visiting southern Laos. This is a unique and special resort, one that you won't regret.Inle Princess Resort: "Lake-side retreat"
"From the breath-taking sunrises and sunsets over the lake to the wonderful massages, this is a place to relax and enjoy yourself. Our lakeside cottage was huge and well appointed...couldn't ask for more. Quiet, peaceful grounds. A bit of a hike from our cottage to the restaurant...if you are mobility challenged, you might want to ask for a closer cottage; was not a problem at all for us, however. Would return in a heart-beat. Be sure to allow enough time to explore the lake and its villages by boat...an experience not to be missed! We were there mid-January, and the weather was perfect, and no major mosquito problems. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Pindaya Farm House: "Beautiful, peaceful and serene"
My husband and his parents stayed at Pindaya Farmhouse this week - while the price is higher than other places in the area, it’s well worth it if you are hoping for a peaceful and serene getaway with delicious and healthy food. It’s a family run business and by the end of our stay we felt like part of the family! Food is delicious and fresh and most of it comes directly from their garden. Meat dishes fresh from the market. The setting of the place is beautiful ; removed but not too far from Pindaya. The place looks like a boutique hotel BnB and nicely designed. We also did a really great trekking tour N and H and did a cooking class. Would highly recommendJing’s Residence: "An absolute pleasure in every way"
This boutique hotel has struck an exquisite balance between ancient and modern. The authentic courtyard building has retained its innate period charm, whilst they’ve managed to install some sort of genius plumbing/electrical system behind the scenes so that the facilities are absolutely up-to-date and reliable, with brilliant hot spa-like showers w/ plenty of pressure. The rooms are all different (in shape, size, and decor), supremely comfortable, and beautifully designed. Simple, elegant, traditional courtyard style with a touch of Indonesian influence I’d say. The rooms are laid out around a series of courtyards and lantern-lined stone corridors that make you feel like you’ve time travelled. A lovely, special place. I only wish I could find more places like Jing Residence in China! xxReverie Siam: "Fabulous honeymoon stay"
My husband and I spent 5 nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. The hotel has been opened less than a year and feels immaculate. There are so many positives about this place. The design of the hotel and gardens, the very conscientious staff that make you feel special, the high quality finish of the rooms and the superb breakfasts. The hotel is not crowded and so the swimming pool area is very private we often had the pool entirely to ourselves. A nice touch was a free glass of wine or bubbly during some of our evening meals. There was live music on 3 nights of the five we stayed which we enjoyed. We had a fantastic chef board one evening in the restaurant which was delicious. The only thing that would make this hotel even better would perhaps be spa or massage treatments. There aren't fantastic spas in the area and as the hotel has such pretty gardens that would have been lovely. A wonderful hotel, stay here you won't regret it!Inle Princess Resort: "A beautiful, peaceful place to stay"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a garden room rather than a lake room, but still beautiful. There's no tv in the rooms, but who needs that? It was just so peaceful. Great pool, bar and restaurant too and the staff were more than ready to help out with anything. I have coeliacs and the restaurant staff were happy to make something special for me, although that wasn't required as the food on their daily changing menu gave me lots of options. We were there late January and most of the other guests (and the staff) seemed to think the mornings and evenings were cold. Not for us. While the temperature was a little more temperate than other parts of Myanmar, we were perfectly comfortable without long sleeves and scarves, but I suppose that's a subjective experience. Room Tip: You could probably pay more and get a lake view room, but it's not necessary."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Fantastic Stay"
"Four of us stayed at Neeleshwar over the new year period. Staff are amazing and the spa fabulous. The resort does its best to make your stay peaceful. The pool is a very good size and the beach breathtaking. Our cottages were beautiful, clean and in very good condition. We absolutely loved the seafood restaurant on the beach. It is an adult environment so sometimes noisy children can distract from this. The resort probably needs to be MORE clear with parents that only well behaved children and parents who take responsibility for their children should stay here."Satri House: "Super relaxing"
Very comfortable rooms and good location. Service is impeccable and the whole setting is extremely relaxing. The staff are very helpful for everything and the breakfast is superb, unique and very colonial. Wonderful swimming pool too. Highly recommend it.Mie Cafe: "Little Oasis with amazing food"
"The courtyard garden and restaurant is a quiet oasis with its calm gentle atmosphere is a welcome relief from the hustle , bustle and noise of downtown . Aside from that the food is sensational, an Asian fusion dream. We opted for the gourmet menu and the vegan menu which were not only delicious but great value at $28 and $21 dollars respectively. The food was very fresh, tasted delicious and presented well. The vegan baked Aubergine was delicious and both the gourmet chocolate and vegan chocolate desserts were heavenly . Sorry we didn't have a extra night to go again and would really recommend you fit a visit into your time whilst in Seim Reap."The Cabochon Hotel: "Home away from home"
We loved staying at the hotel, it felt like a home away from home. We were three generations staying there, and we enjoyed it immensely. The staff is professional, accommodating and very welcoming. We will absolutely return.
