Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "The best"

Review by: Keri L | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed here for two nights and it was wonderful. The individual room is beautifully design and has their own little balcony. The food at the restaurant is excellent. The reception has a great library. It is good to know you are supporting the local community as well. One of the drawback is that given it is so ecofriendly, we kept hearing noises from various animal on our roof which disturb our sleep a little bit.

Maduzi Hotel: "A hidden gem of a hotel in Bangkok"

Review by: Busqueezo | Source: Trip Advisor
Wow! This is the second time we've stayed at the Maduzi Hotel on Soi 16 Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok. Our room was spacious, huge larger than king sized COMFORTABLE bed, work area for laptop and fax messages, included (free) non-alcohol beverages and snacks in fridge, plenty of amenities in bathroom, including an unusual jacuzzi tub (2 can fit....). Very close to Asoke SkyTrain elevated train(BTS) and MRT underground subway stations. Close to shopping at Terminal 21 Shopping Center, close to Soi Cowboy for go go bars, and the Argentine Steak House is a 10 minute walk....Outstanding. The cost...you ain't gonna believe it. A tremendous value compared to any of the big name hotels along Sukhumvit Road. Contact the hotel directly on their website - and initiate an e-mail to them to find out what deals are available. OUTSTANDING. (Please: the hotel has CNN in the Lobby, but not in the room - Al Jazzeeria and BBC are in the room) - although there is a Bose radio and dvd player, neither that player or the t.v. had an accessible USB or HDMI port to plug in your content from a laptop or external hard drive or smart phone. This needs to be addressed, but does not distract greatly from this room.

The Village House: "Best place to stay on the peninsula"

Review by: AndyHopz | Source: tripadvisor.com
I would echo all the previous reviews. Yes this place is out of the way, and in a completely different spot to the big resorts in Damai. But that is exactly the reason for choosing it, it's very intimate and relaxing, there's no kids around and you feel like you're experiencing something closer to Malaysian culture.

Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful"

Review by: CambridgeMass | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a beautiful hotel! It is off the beaten path in a more residential area (large expat community) and we couldn't have loved that more. Being on the water was great, especially in a city that can be very congested. The area has lots of great restaurants. (If you want a nice dinner out, we had a great time at La Villa. For something more casual, the Mad House was great.) The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. (The first floor is somewhat of a garden level, perfect if you don't want to take any stairs, but the ceilings in our room there were low. We asked and were very promptly and graciously moved to a room on a higher level, which required taking a couple flights of stairs but was much more spacious. It really depends on what you are looking for, but if stairs aren't an issue, I would highly recommend requesting a room not on the first floor.) Breakfast is superb and the front desk is always eager to help. (They made reservations for us, called many taxis that all showed up very quickly, and even made arrangements for us to have an extra early breakfast the morning of our departure.) As others have mentioned there are stairs and no lift, so I would request a certain floor if you have a preference. Finally, they charge a lot for to pre-book transportation to and from the airport. Since the prices were so steep, we chose not to use it. Instead, we booked a pick up with another company. From the airport, it might be worth it to have them pick you up; it's very busy and chaotic. Returning to the airport, however, I would just get a cab. We just had them call a cab (they always call only certain brands of taxi) and it was $15 to go back to the airport.

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Go for the guided tour"

Review by: Valerv | Source: Trip Advisor
"There are 3 guided tours everyday (11am, 2pm & 3:30pm) in Mandarin and English. The entrance fee is RM17 (approx $4) for adult and RM 8.50 for child (approx $2). If you wanted to go for the owner guided tour, it's on Friday at 11am and 2pm. Don't miss it ! Definitely a must visit destination if you are down in Penang. Stayed April 2017, traveled with friends"

Satri House: "Charme désuet de l’Indochine avec toutes les commodités modernes"

Review by: Dominique L | Source: Trip Advisor
"Quel bonheur d'arriver dans ce havre de paix au charme d'antan et plein d'odeurs exotiques. Personnel très attentionné et à la fois discret. Magnifiques jardins, piscines, chambres... tout y est parfait. Inutile de dire que nous avons adoré ainsi que les vélos à disposition pour se rendre en ville qui est à 10 minutes à pieds. Stayed February 2017, traveled with friends"

Villa Song Saigon: "Out of town"

David’s Kitchen: "Exceptional service & food"

Review by: Lin R | Source: Trip Advisor
We had a fantastic evening at David's kitchen. David personally welcomed us to his restaurant which was really nice and he was really interested in our family and remembered what we'd said. Great customer service.. The staff were all really knowledgeable about the menu and had the right balance between being helpful but also stepping back. We would highly recommend eating here.
