Mume: "The perfect place for dinner"
"I read about Mume just days before a quick trip to Taipei and to my luck the restaurant had availability! I loved the relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, open kitchen and how the design of the restaurant makes good use of the space. The size of the tables are very comfortable and you are seated at a nice distance from other guests. Cocktails were of course delicious and the food was fantastic. Everything we ordered was perfectly balanced in flavour, texture and appearance. Each dish showed creativity, brought excitement and every bite was wonderful. The waiters and waitresses were very sweet. Thank you to everybody, front of house and kitchen, for the incredible meal!"Talabgaon Castle: "ABOVE & BEYOND our expectations!!"
"First and for most , sorry it's taken this long. We were there in late March 2015. We had the pleasure of experiencing the absolute grandeur of 'Talabgaon Castle' through our tour company 'Trinetra Tours'. Don't be put off by the drive to the place, as it seems endless. But, wait till you get there....... Words fail me about the grandeur of the place. This is somewhere you would go......just to 'chill' and enjoy the surroundings. We were a large group of 12 and every room was special. Mr Dalpat the owner, organized some Rajasthanie folk dancing for our entertainment, during dinner and it is something we still talk about. Thank you! We had a perfect night in every way. Staff and service could not be faulted and in short it's worth the trip. Do something different and experience the grandeur."David’s Kitchen: "Excellent Last Night Out"
We ate here on our final night in Chiang Mai and what a delicious, memorable experience we had! From the moment you step out of the car you are warmly greeted and treated with first class service. Our waiter, Ton, was very friendly, attentive and really made our night memorable. Even David greeted us at the door, and checked up on us several times during the evening. As for the food, it was delicious. We were looking forward to a break from the standard Thai dishes, and there was a vast Italian/French menu to chose from. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin, and I opted for the pork chop with cherry glaze, and both were excellent, and well cooked. The red wine we chose was outstanding and very reasonably priced. David stated he pays special attention to his wine selections to give his customers great wines, and this was definitely proof of that. Definitely a must go to restaurant to finish off an equally amazing visit in Chiang Mai.The Island Lodge: "Excellent location, great food, fantastic staff"
"We just stayed in the Island Lodge for a night and we only regret one thing: that we didn't stay a bit longer. The location is simply gorgeous, but we especially enjoyed the special feel this family owned hotel has. Compared to some of the other luxurious hotels and resorts in Vietnam, you really feel at home at the Island Lodge. This is all thanks to Francoise and Michel and their fantastic team. We also had a great dinner here at very reasonable prices. Finally, the massages we got were by far the best we had during our stay in Vietnam. We can only recommend this place if you are around Saigon. Escape the busy city life and come to relax here for a few nights. You will not regret it. As for us: we will be back!"Tugu Malang: "Magic!"
Everything is excellent: staff, the restaurant (great menu) , rooms, afternoon tea, the decors, ... The staff will give you all sort of info and great advice. Don't forget to visit the Bakery next door: Roti Tugu. Highly recommended! One tip: book your table for dinner.Misool Eco Resort: "Beautiful, Remote, Charming and Friendly. Just paradise Really"
"If you like scuba diving, peaceful tranquility, a crystal clear turquoise ocean, friendly unpretentious service, beautiful unpolluted pristine beaches and holidays are a priority that you don't mind spending a bit of cash extra on, then Misool would be a great choice. If you have small children, like hectic nightlife or need to work within a tight budget then Misool may not be the place to stay. For the four of us ( we travelled as two couples) it was heaven on earth! We are keeen scuba divers and have dived in many places across the globe but Misool really is the jewel in the crown. We opted for the unlimited dive package which is definitely worth it if you plan to dive a lot which we did. On offer every day are 4 dives - a pre-breakfast dive, post breakfast dive, afternoon dive and dusk/night dive. If that is still not enough you can dive on the house reef any time. Some dive sites are definitely better than others, but that said nearly all dive sights are significantly better than most dives that we have done elsewhere. We were there in February and the visibility was great. We also had a fair bit of rain but that in no way detracted from our holiday. Marfel, our dive guide was excellent and really looked after us. We were in an incredibly remote location with no access to medical facilities if we had had any sort of emergency but felt safe all the time due to the high standards of safety and equipment that we had. The resort itself is so beautiful, words do not really do it justice. Neither do the pictures on the web site. You have to see it for yourself to appreciate it. The service is also excellent. The staff are so friendly and will do anything for you. So are there any downsides? Well yes there a couple.Firstly getting there. It depends where you are travelling from obviously, but I would say that for most tourists it is going to be a real hike. From Dubai (which is one of the most accessible places in the world) it still took us 3 flights and a 5 hour boat journey. On the way there the boat journey wasn't too bad becuase we were the first on the boat and got the air conditioned seats at the front. On the way back we had a few staff members travelling back as well as the guests and we were stuck at the back - very cramped, with no air conditioning which was pretty uncomfortable for a long trip. Secondly, whilst the whole resort is spacious, beautuful and in some ways luxurious it is on a small island miles from anywhere. In lots of ways this is a bonus but it does mean that the air conditioning does not work as well (or sometimes at all) as it would in places where you would pay this amount of money. It may seem incredibly expensive but then you do need to factor in that absolutely everything, including water needs to be imported. Also quite a bit of money (I don't know how much) goes to conservation projects. One final point - I would not recommend the meet and greet service at the airport. It is quite expensive and a total waste of money. We had to wait nearly an hour in sweltering heat on the pavement for our guide to turn up and when he did, he did not seem to provide any added value service at all. We would have been better queing at the check in for 20 minutes ourselves and paying to get into the lounge for a fraction of the price paid. We did alert Misool to this and they are looking in to trying to change providers. Overall, I cannot fault Misool Eco Resort. This was probably the best holiday I have ever had and I would go back to Misool again tomorrow if I could. Thank you to the Misool team for making our stay so special ! "Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Beautiful grounds and great staff"
The grounds are simply beautiful! Incredibly peaceful and lush surroundings with an incomparable staff. It's a pretty small resort, so the staff were incredibly attentive. We had fried frangipani flowers as an appetizer, and loved them so much that they made us more!Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Magical"
"We lived in Nepal for many years and now visit quite regularly. This has and will always been one of our most favourite spots thanks to Marcus and his team as well as it's most lovely location above Pokhara, in the hills with fabulous mountain views and walks. The local staff are a delight and nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is informal and comfortable. The rooms(with attached bathrooms) are tastefully but simply/appropriately decorated and with very comfortable beds. The food is now exceptionally good and there is a choice of meals, which are either enjoyed alone or with other guests and friends. Computers and phones are discouraged in the main reception/dining/living areas which is a breath of fresh air! We spent five nights there on this visit(post high altitude trek) and walked every morning with one of the lodge naturalists, whose knowledge , particularly of the birds, butterflies and trees is exceptional. The local villagers are very welcoming. Thank you all! We will be back!"Mie Cafe: "Beautiful and serene restaurant for foodies"
"Our relative from Phnom Penh recommended this restaurant and I am so glad we got a reservation during our stay in Siem Reap. The setting is an old Khmer Villa, beautiful garden and ponds with Koi fish. We sat on the lower floor, which I think is the better choice. We started with a cocktail to give us time to study the interesting menu. The menu included several local twists on traditional foods as well as several fish dishes from the nearby Tonle Sap. We selected a combination of fish and meat dishes and they were all good. Picking a favorite is tricky, but the risotto with fish was very popular. The kids had fish fingers and chicken nuggets, all made from fresh ingredients and popular with the children. For dessert we had ice cream, fried bananas, and the popular chocolate cake. My son got most of it into his stomach, but the rest of the chocolate cake was in his face as our full and happy group left this great restaurant. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant in Siem Reap."Maison Polanka: "Perfect in every way"
This is a wonderful haven. It has authentic and stylish accommodation in a peaceful garden setting. The staff, led by the incomparable Francis, are charming, knowledge and helpful. The Green Room where we stayed was unpretentious and stylish. Thoroughly recommended.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
